"With no water in our village due to an accident and damaged pipeline, cooking at home wasn't so appealing so we headed off to our favourite bar and restaurant, the Corner House. The place was busy and technically full as many people had the same idea, but the staff rallied round to make room for us and despite them being run off their feet, the food and service was still absolutely fantastic. Congratulations to Luke and the rest of the staff, you really pulled it out of the bag... and this is exactly why we go back there time and time again. We couldn't recommend it more, 5 stars every time."

"We have dined at The Sloop a few times. Today, the food was good overall, but we were disappointed that they only offered sweet potatoes as an extra. The pigs in blankets were delicious, but unfortunately, they are no longer on the menu. The burger meal and sausages were great. My seafood plate was okay - the scallops were well-cooked but a bit dry. They served simple white baguettes that were not very impressive. I prefer brown bread with grains and seeds. The side salad was also a bit plain. Overall, the meal was enjoyable, but it lacked attention to these details."

"Had food on the 8th of December, Had the ribs to start. Was tasty with a good portion size, it came with side salad and purple coleslaw. Not knowing the portion sizes I ordered a side order of onion rings, which were also very nice. For main, I had the 20 oz T bone steak. The steak was huge. either other places had been skimping on the steak or this place is generous, either way it was cooked to perfection. I had it with chips. The chips come on a separate bowl and the steak was accompanied with a side salad on the plate. At this point I was rather full but I pushed myself to have the desert, which i chose melted Nutella with brownie. We opted for an extra side of ice cream with it. Again the pudding was delicious. The price in my opinion was well worth it. Service was great. No long delay for food and the food was delicious. Overall a great first experience and will be back. "We happened upon this restaurant today and decided to have lunch with our 11-year-old daughter. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food was fantastic. We especially loved the Turkish bagel and apple tea. Additionally, the cafe had a great selection of baklava, Turkish delights, teas, and more available for purchase to take home. If we find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely make a point to stop by!"

"Unfortunately having arrived at 8pm items were already unavailable in the menu. There was no welcome or greeting just a launch into ‘Do you want to drinks or order?’ For a prime positioned boutique hotel that is very cleverly and attractively decorated hotel it fell short. With our preferred starter unavailable we order the aubergine tabouleh main course which when it arrived was tepid to cold and certainly reheated and the tabouleh was simple couscous with some scattered pomegranate seeds. We chose not to eat it and to pay for our drinks a steep £21 for a single G&T and a bottle of sparkling water) and leave. The Duty Manager listened to our complaint but I think they need to review the quality of what is offered. It could be a magical conservatory in the summer if the service and food were markedly improved."

"The food we were served is not what made Harry Ramsden's fish and chips famous, batter was not crispy neither was the chips. I could see from other diners that there food wasn't crispy either. A lady sat opposite me took the batter off her fish and was able to fold it up on her plate. We ordered sticky toffee pudding with custard that came out cold, we had taken a couple of spoonfuls to establish this and the waitress took them away, microwaved them and added more custard rather than bringing out fresh desserts. Very poor and won't be going back."

"Friday Lunch between meetings..looked good from the window of grilled vegetables and platters. Once in it all fell down from there. Appauling service..four waiters all chatting..quiche was non plussed by salad was literally lettuce and tomatoes plonked on a plate then wine came after food...and the bread never came. I have walked past here many times and thought I would give it a try. Big mistake wish frnkly I had gone to Benugo next door. Or Gregg's quite frankly. "I came to this place with a lot of expectations. When you’re paying a certain price, you expect service and class. Instead the food was well below average, making me question how this place got so many good reviews. It was no better than canned food from M and S and was being masked as fine dining at the prices of fine dining. The one thing that made it worthwhile perhaps was the view, but it really stopped there. The artichokes we had were three canned artichokes on a bed of cream cheese. The fish was dry nasty stuff and the burger was dried meat smothered in mayo to mask its taste. A restaurant needs more than a view. By the end of it, I couldn’t finish my meal and my daughter gave up on the dessert. We are used to Mediterranean restaurants where usually the chefs strive to impress. So perhaps the expectations were too high. However selling that low standard of food at those prices are not on. They either need to improve the food or lower the prices substantially. The views were nice though and the bathrooms were clean. The manager present that day removed some items off the bill as I didn’t eat them, even though I didn’t ask her to which I appreciated."

The Parlour is friendly and welcoming to all: whether a celeb (favourite haunt of David Walliams), or dropping in for refreshment as an exhausted tourist in the heart London. Or a regular, like my family and friends. Divine food (not cheap, but worth it) and the best teas (obviously) and hot chocolate in the world (and I 'm a hot choc connoisseur. The free mini icecreams with coffee are such a treat. Staff are fun and atmosphere great. Tell them if it 's your birthday and the wonderful Boon (if on duty) will come over and sing Happy Birthday. Just awarded (aug 23) an 'expert 's choice award '. Full disclosure my daughter worked here on a gap year, which is how I came to know about the Parlour (despite being a Londoner)."

"We had an amazing discovery on our way back from Tenterden when we found The Bull Inn. The staff were lovely from the moment we walked in, and we were escorted to our table in the restaurant. We felt very welcome and took our time choosing from the menu. I ordered the 'Clucking Big One' and my mum had the 'Veggie burger' since we both wanted a chips night. We were not disappointed at all...except for the fact that I couldn't finish my meal! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lovely, and we left with full bellies. Thank you, The Bull Inn!"

"As cocktail lovers we were told this is just the best place so off we went. A small place in the centre of town which we eventually found and so glad we did. A Southside, Team Rocket, Paper Plane and Grasshopper were our choices. It is an experience to watch a pro at work, all cocktails were made using great care, skill and technique, poured into glassware and presented. Just an art to watch and a pleasure to savour. The place itself is quirky, a gem of a little bar and the cocktails which we had were tremendous, perhaps a little high on the price side but oh so worth it when you consider the skill set needed to create such inspiring beverages. "I got the kale bone, collards, Mac cheese, cornbread, tropical drink. The kale bone a flavor/ texture that remind me of stuffing mixed with soy with gravy of top. Not bad at all but I’m not a stuffing kind of person so I wouldn’t get it again. The collards was your typical collards I did enjoy that. The Mac cheese was the BEST vegan Mac cheese I have ever tasted I have tried a few. The cornbread was dry. I took one bite trashed it. The tropical drink have hibiscus in it it’s delicious. The customer service is welcoming friendly. The place does have a slight Odor like it’s a older building."

"I telephoned during the day to ask if they were delivering.. they said no which I accepted. Half an hour later the manager phoned me and asked if I still wanted delivered food. I was starving so I was very pleased to have placed an order. The approx delivery time was an hour but he said he'd try to get there sooner. Hour later manager said the driver was just walking out of the door. I live less than 10mins drive away. 20mins later and driver is still on his way to me!! 1hr 40mins lata the driver is apparantly outside! 2hrs later and I had to finally cancel the order. Manager offered to give me the food for £10 which I stupidly accepted! Manager actually delivered the food himself!! Food was awful, brown lettuce, rock hard, cold stale chips and chicken burger, sauce on chicken (which was sizzling hot) was undercooked and only half of my order in bag!!! I AM NEVER EVER GOING THERE AGAIN! RUINED MY DAY AND APPERTITE."

"Went here with my partner for a activity superstore gift someone had bought us as a present for dinner. When we arrived after our long journey we had to use the toilet facilities, shock horror to find the disabled only women toilet) was absolutely disgusting. Paper towels everywhere and ladies toiletries. I had to speak to the receptionist and she got onto it straight away. toilet was cleaned) but first impression it was a bit late. Once we was shown to our table we were given a very basic menu choice. I ordered the seabass which to be told they didnt have but gave me a choice of different fish, the food came and my partners chicken was very dry from the off, but the salmon was lovely. Soup was nice for starters and dessert for my partner was lovely. Staff were great and welcoming. Just too basic menu choice and would have preferred the main menu and paid extra if needed and not worth the money, had better."
