"Went here for a late Sunday brunch after checking the reviews Edinburgh Larder didn't disappoint! I ordered the roasted red pepper and basil soup of the day with half a balsamic aubergine and broad bean pate sandwich. The staff were very accommodating making my half sandwich with gluten free bread. My SO ordered the honey leg ham, gherkin and wholegrain mustard sandwich which came with a beautifully dressed side salad. Sandwiches took a little while coming out but were worth the wait. The entire meal felt wholesome and nutritious, and knowing they source all of their produce locally makes it even better. Proper soul food."

"there were two reasons why we recently found ourselves at giotto. nr. 1, because we had organized a re-watching dinner and it was the most central for all of us and nr. 2, it was on the map, so there was a deal to have. giotto is a pretty Italian restaurant in a counter that has its fair share of tourist. a stone's throw from the British museum, the joys of the theatre district and the door to the door guest houses/hotels, it is a destination for many traveling, though a bit family oriented and grown up. that was clear in the restaurant. it was free from local, cool cats and young people in general, only groups of older tourist species. this is not necessarily a...read more"

"Visited this place after accidentally leaving it too late to go to any other restaurants as they had all closed, but very glad to have come! We both enjoyed the Scotsman burgers, which was very, very tasty. The chili jam gave it such a great flavour, and the chips were also very good. Also shared a raspberry mojito, which absolutely hit the spot. The atmosphere was that of a beer hall with the bench-tables, which I loved but may not be for everyone. We didn't stay long enough but I can imagine it would be a lovely place to hang and have drinks with friends after a long week. Definitely would visit again!"

"Managed to get a table at late notice which was good. Table was small for 4 persons and dogs were allowed in which sadly for daughter was not great as she’s terrified of them. Service was fine and meal arrived quickly. The menu online is not the menu offered on a Sunday as prices are more expensive than online. (Said £6.95/7.95 and upward online) Still for £9.95 not a bad Sunday lunch price however you really don’t get a lot of food. We got one bowl of veg between 4 plenty carrots, cauliflower and cabbage but not a lot of turnip 3 spoons and it was gone. A separate bowl of mushy peas. We did not get a lot of meat and one person had only a few shredded pieces on their plate and small spoonful of mash/roasts. One large Yorkshire. Food tasted nice just don’t expect a huge portion. Desert menu was plentiful priced around £5 each. We enjoyed deserts and quite filling. Drinks reasonably priced also."

"The vegan milkshakes here are to die for! My partner and I decided to check this place out after seeing great reviews online, we aren't vegan, but my partner is allergic to egg so it's nice for him to be able to order anything from the menu without worries. The staff is very friendly and helpful, our waiter was attentive and genuinely caring. There's plenty of interesting good options and as previously mentioned the milkshakes are just awesome. After a filling meal we were still eyeing the cakes they offer and decided to take a slice home, it was lemon, rose and raspberry and it was delicious. We will definitely be back soon and I fully recommend this restaurant, even if you're a meat eater it's nice to try something new."

"came here for a pre-Xmas menu with a few friends and this pub was very welcoming with a beautiful fire that warms the room and friendly staff to welcome us. eating with a varied menu and service was both excellent and will definitely return. could not judge this pub high enough and would recommend it to everyone."
"We (family of four with a teen pre-teen are staying in Childswickham just outside Broadway for a weeks holiday so thought we’d try the Childswickham Inn Brasserie as we could walk there through the pretty village, it has great reviews and it’s dog friendly. We booked for a Friday evening and were given our choice of tables in the very pretty garden area. Everything about the place is wonderful. The pub itself is a lovely country style inn with a very warm welcoming atmosphere. The outdoor area is beautiful with a lit pergola under canvas canopies and very comfortable chairs and roomy tables. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful and made a fuss of our two Labradors. The food was superb. Honestly some of the best traditional-but-next-level pub fare we’ve ever had. I had the pie of the day which was lamb, husband had Cumberland sausages and the kids had burgers. All completely homemade, served quickly, fresh piping hot and with generous portions. Husband suffered from extreme pie envy when he tasted my dish! We couldn’t resist the puds so opted for sticky toffee puddings and chocolate brownie. Again, all homemade, generously portioned and utterly delicious. The food was so good we decided to spend our final meal here and opted for Sunday lunch. We all had sirloin of beef which were served with the best (and biggest! Yorkshire puddings we’ve ever had. We’re from Yorkshire and we know a perfect Yorkie when we see (and taste one and these deserve the highest praise. The beef was perfectly cooked, thickly cut and it melted in the mouth. It was served with a generous portion of roast potatoes, cheesy leeks (a personal favourite! , a selection of perfectly cooked veg lovely rich gravy. Desserts were equally fabulous. Genuinely up there with the best food we’ve ever eaten and exceptionally good value. I just wish it was closer to home as we’d be returning constantly! I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Perfect food, wonderful service, lovely ambience and surroundings and great value, more than deserving of five stars. Thank you for two wonderful visits, you were a highlight of our holiday!"

"We have eaten at the Sloop a few times. Today the food was good but they no longer offer sweet potato fries as an extra which is a shame. They also used to do pigs in blankets which were delicious but alas no more. The burger meal was great as were the sausages. My seafood platter was OK. The scallops were well cooked but not drained so a lot of wet. They also used very basic white baguettes which let the dish down. I much prefer brown bread with prawns etc. Also the side salad was a little basic. Overall, the meal was enjoyable but those little details were missing."

"visited twice and loved it both times. had the steak both paint and it is one of the best steaks I had in a long time. The Itison vouchers are a brilliant thing. our last visit was a birthday party. I left a birthday cake before the meal, and the personal brought it out as surprise after our meal, I had forgotten candles, but she put sparkles in them for me (then!) very recommended the niche and I are soon again for another steak!"

"This is a great place, I'm annoyed that we all delved into our food without remembering to take a pic first! When I first saw the menu, my immediate thought was that any menu that big will be tough to deliver, but they pulled it off well Our group went for loaded chunkies, onion bombs roasted cod loin special, the steak one and the mozzarella chicken buttie. Truly a wide variety! All the food was great. The cod special in particular was excellent. A generous slab of cod atop sweet potato and curry sauce, not to mention the lovely crumb and even a skewer of prawns on the side. It's making my mouth water just remembering it We rounded off the evening with chocolate brownie and apple and blackberry crumble. Everything was generously sized and reasonably priced. I will definitely return next time I'm in Whitehaven"

"We called on Saturday for a takeaway but they were too busy so weren’t doing them, so had on on Sunday instead (to which we thought: ah great that shows they’re priority is quality not quantity). The only think we can imagine is that the head chef was nit working, because the food was worse than your average takeaway. We were sooo excited to try the muntjac vindaloo, expecting to get the milk out the fridge, and whilst the meat was nice and soft, the curry sauce had very little flavour and certainly zero spice. In fact the samosa was spicier. The butter chicken.. usually a safe choice.. tasted just like Heinz cream of tomato soup. The pilau rice may as well have been from Tesco. The mushroom dish was actually quite nice, but that was about it. The rest was bland and average. Such a shame especially given all the good reviews."

"from the arrival on stk ibiza we were greeted with a Spanish purer who spoke to us the head shaken and aggressiv on Spanish to another employee and admired so that we feel very comfortable and not welcome. we then sat in a table. the corner next to the toilets, there were other tables available, but we were recommended that the restaurant was fully booked and we could not move. from the second we went into we were told that we had to leave a certain time as we had not requested additional booking, but this was not specified on the website. throughout our meal the staff turned to us, and at one point we had to pour out our own wein, because it was repeatedly ignored by our waitress, but the table next to us received consistent and regular service and a point with two waitresses. during the ordering it would have been helpful to discuss the sizes of the sides, as these were good portion sizes and could easily be shared between people instead of allowing us to order numerous pages, and laugh when we caused so much waste. No one came to ask us how this was or whether we want something else. in the payment of the bill we have explained that we were not satisfied with this service, so would not pay the additional service fee, the waitress laughed about us and repeatedly said: "What was wrong with the service?" shows no understanding or willingness to take over some constructive criticism. the entertainment should not be classified as entertainment as it is dancing out of two girls and another girl swinging around some lights if they are a proper entertainment and service I strongly recommend liò about this restaurant."

"This place has achieved two huge things already: delicious food served up in a warm, cosy and welcoming atmosphere. And they've only been open a week! I've been watching the Scullery for a while now and couldn't wait to try it out when it opened. We visited for Friday lunch and even though it was only their third day of lunch service, it was pleasantly bustling with customers and had a really great vibe to it. There's two menus available at lunch time, one with sandwich options (ranging from £5.50 £6.25 with fillings of halloumi, chicken breast, pastrami, salmon or BLT and also the full menu which is also available at night. It was when I looked at the full menu that I knew this place would suit me perfectly I love a small plate, and I also love the idea of dishes for the table. This includes a baked camembert, cheese platter or charcuterie platter. There's a load of locally sourced items on the menu, like west coast mussels, Scottish steaks, Lanark sorbet/ice cream and George Mewes cheese. The menu is different enough to be interesting, but not so different that less adventurous eaters won't be able to find something to try. I wanted to order everything on the menu and really struggled to narrow down my options. I ended up going for the flat iron steak at £16.75 with fries, tomato, watercress and bearnaise sauce (this is why I shouldn't be allowed to go out on a Friday for lunch . In the meantime I had a cup of peppermint tea as well as a bottle of the raspberry crush which was really lovely. At the moment, the Scullery doesn't have a booze licence but I'm sure that won't be far away. For now, it's BYOB. My steak arrived and I was delighted it was a thing of beauty. The plating was absolutely amazing and I loved the bright colours of the tomato and the watercress. Thankfully it wasn't just beautiful to look at, it was also delicious. The bearnaise was super thick and decadent and served in the right proportion to the steak. The steak was cooked medium rare and while it needed a bit more seasoning, that's more due to my tastes than any fault of the kitchen. I loved the hand cut chips with the skin on and the vine tomatoes were really nicely cooked. We then opted for dessert (it was a Friday! and I had the sorbet which was super refreshing. I tried the apple and champagne flavours (did I mention it was a Friday? but there's also pear and lemon. Service was really great, the waitress we had was super chatty and a good laugh which added to the warm atmosphere of the place. She even let us try a slice of the gluten free bread when I was considering getting a sandwich for lunch. All up, lunch at the Scullery was a real delight and I'm looking forward to trying more of the menu. While this place is a little off the main Finnieston strip, it's definitely worth that extra wee wander down to try something a bit exciting."

"We were at The Ned celebrating my sons 21st birthday. He wanted to go to the brunch buffet but unfortunately it was fully booked despite trying to make a reservation weeks in advance, so, we booked the American diner instead as my son really wanted to go The Ned so I thought this would be a good compromise. Underwhelming it was. A very limited unimaginative menu and very little atmosphere. At 2pm Sunday most of the tables were empty (all in the brunch I guess) . The food was very mediocre, no better than any other burger/rib restaurant I've been to, and despite me advising in advance we were there for a special occasion nobody made an effort to make my son feel special on his birthday other than the onligatory brownie with a candle brought to the table at the end of the meal... but brought to us while he wasn't even sitting there as he'd poppedto the bathroom!! Overall very disappointing and especially more so because despite it being quiet so really no excuses, nobody went out of their way to make our experience memorable in any way. Disappointing to say the least Ned."

"Great experience and really good quality food. The Vongole, seasonal veg, gamberi linguine and veal milanese were all delicious and big portions. Owner even provided extra cheese saying 'always happy to recheese ' my kind of place!! Deserts were okay but the service was impeccable. Had a nice family feel with the owners getting stuck in. It 's clearly embedded as part of the community. Highly recommend."

"Although it may be a bit of a trek from the town center, if you find yourself in Brighton, a visit to the South Downs for a leisurely stroll is almost inevitable. If you continue down from Devils Dyke, you will eventually come across the Shepherd Dog pub nestled at the base of the hills. At this point, you may find yourself tired, hungry, and in desperate need of a pint. The pub's beer garden extends to the public footpath, creating a tranquil oasis for weary travelers. With a stream and bridge on the premises, even your dog can enjoy a swim and cool off. The food at this establishment is top-notch, especially the Sunday roast which is quite generous in size. Take a moment to explore the historical charm of the 17th Century pub before calling a cab for a ride back to town, or if you prefer, you can simply skip the walk and drive to this hidden gem."

"A week before, what was nice. But this week the service was badly waited 25 minutes before everything came! Obviously, they can't handle when they're busy! A tea bag in a big teapot! Theee of us got our sandwiches and then waited another 10 minutes before the fourth person got their!"

"I adore this restaurant. I brought my significant other here for our first date, and we revisited 4 years later to find that the place is just as amazing as before. The food is decadent, a delight for the taste buds and ideal for food enthusiasts. They offer a wide selection of craft beers, play great music, and have stylish interior decor. The only issue with this place is that it's located too far away! Please open a location in Cardiff soon!"

"Just grabbed 2 cod and chips from Henry Higgins and as usual absolutely banging!! Huge portion, cooked amazingly, not greasy at all. Succulent cod in a super crispy batter and the best chips in southend. Amazing value compared to the other chip shops around. If you really appreciate decent fish and chips don't bother going anywhere else use these guys, you will not be disappointed."
