"This caf is tucked away down a lane just off Main Street East (opposite The George Hotel) so it would be easy to miss. If youre looking a lunchtime snack, as we were, its worth considering. Its a very compact space with a few steps...down from the door and it was busy however we managed to get a table. The menu consisted of soup, sandwiches, paninis and baked potatoes with a standard variety of fillings and so we ordered up a Cheese Ham Panini 6.15) and a Tuna Mayo Baked Potato 7.25) with a side order of cheese 1.30) and a couple of Americano coffees. The Panini was served with a salad garnish and some coleslaw (the latter of which I unusually liked) and the Baked Potato with a little salad garnish too. The food tasted okay and was served up by pleasant staff in a reasonable timescale so all was perfectly satisfactory in our experience. The cost was 18.90. Later whilst walking up Dun a Cuaiche (overlooking Inveraray Castle) we were wishing that we had opted for some of the cakes on offer to give us a boost of energy. There are a couple of unisex toilets and these appeared to be well maintained. The usual Covid-19 rules appeared to be respected with staff and guests wearing facemasks when not seated and hand sanitiser was provided. From this aspect you would need to accept that it is a small caf and spacing between tables is not particularly generous which may not suit everyone. Overall, a fairly standard caf experience, even if a little compact."

Great service and friendly staff, tasty food with nice portion sizes. Tucked off the high street, but a great hidden gem.

found this hidden away licensed restaurant while inveraray on a bus trip. While it is not the cheapest place, it was worth every penny. we had a prawn sandwich brot was thick very fresh, filled with plump garne in marie rose sauce served...with tortillas a fresh beside salad with a delicious but delicate dressing. we chose an additional side part of chips a bottle of white wine. I couldn't blame.

A superb high quality three course meal and service with a smile. The fish cake starter was delicious. I had beef lasagne and my husband chicken stroganoff. Both so different and very tasty. We were spoilt for choice, from a very comprehensive menu. The ice...cream and sorbet were extremely tasty and each scoop was very generous! We particularly like a good flavour ice cream/sorbet. Excellent wine too. Thank you again!

We had an excellent meal at the Cottage Restaurant, which serves very high quality home cooked food. Our starters of Loch Fyne Bradan Rost salmon fishcakes with homemade coleslaw were delicious as were the chicken stroganoff and beef lasagne main courses. Very reasonably priced wine...by the glass complemented our choices of food. Sadly the salted caramel and chocolate tart had run out, but the same flavour ice creams were a good substitute!

we came after visiting the jail over the street to eat a bite before we later eat inverarayinn. there were 12 of us as three families and a labrador and they accredited us all, brought a drink to water and a...female tasty for our doggy. we had a few nice sandwiches, my was hole fine lachs and absolutely delicious. I had a side of the skin on the fries. my gf had garnel, again served with salate, nachos and coleslaw. Finally, they saved our Doggy water bottle, which looks like a ketchup bottle, so I would have left it on the table!

What a gem of a find tucked away in the heart of Inveraray! We were staying nearby for three days with our x8 wedding guests and wanted a little restaurant that would cater for our party for two nights. Rosslyn and Ally were absolutely wonderful...hosts and so accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. We planned our three course menus with them ahead of time, which they executed to perfection. The food was absolutely delicious; all homemade and we all had something different! Our guests loved every mouthful from the delicious melt-in-your-mouth fish cakes, mushrooms on toast and pate starters, to the tasty Highland venison pie, lasagne, chicken and leek pie and fish pie main courses. They...

"We booked this restaurant after reading the reviews while touring Scotland what a disappointment. When we arrived we were shown to a table straight behind the door and as it kept opening and shutting it blew a massive amount of cold air in. As both parents and staff allowed 2 young children to go in and out every few minutes it got a bit much. We were given the menu and told specials were on the board. No description or recommendation. Also they did not say the board also goes over the top of the fish on didplay. I had crab claws to start the mayonnaise was lovely and what I could get out of the claws was nice but I was given no instruments to get into the claws and they were not broken enough for them to just pull out. I ordered the turbut for main as did my husband it was a small fillet with the skin correctly removed but it was loaded with garlic butter sauce you couldn't taste the fish for the garlic. Also which was worse I don't know what they did to the top of it but it was yellow and like thin rubber. We had to peel it off it was not good. I didn't complain at the time because I am not used to having a fillet of turbut. When I have had it before my husband and I have shared a turbut presented whole at the table. I have only written this today after speaking to some friends who said i should put something on because there had to be something wrong for the top of the fish to be yellow and leathery. You might guess but I won't be going back."
