"I only highlighted two dishes that I have grown tired of ordering, and my replacement dessert (pavlova) only had one piece of fruit. However, we dined quite late (8pm) and the restaurant was very busy, so it seemed like food was running short. The staff was very friendly and despite the lack of fruit in the pavlova, the meal was delicious and overall very enjoyable."

Always enjoyed the food here, but it's generic fare on the weekends. Next door to Britain's exhibition centre, it's hardly.

Oo think I might be being a bit harsh but I've eaten here twice now and both times the food was nothing to write home about. View menu

Located close by my UK office and nearby the NEC as well, this place feels like you are walking into a close friend or relative's home.

Decent food. Nice ambience. I can never score a restaurant in England highly for value. We pay far too much for what we get. Good food and always enjoy going there. We use this as a first stop whenever we fly into Birmingham so totally ideal for this. Or of course, a visit to the NEC.

Little Owl is always worth a visit for me. It's the closest decent eatery to Marston Green and the beer is top . Good menu and varied but the chips (on this visit) that my partner had were very dry .. probs frozen ones. But all in all a lovely time was had and staff very friendly and welcoming View menu

I always find Little Owl worth a visit. It offers quality food close to Marston Green and has top-notch beer. The menu is good and varied, although the chips were very dry on this particular visit. Despite that, every aspect of the experience was beautiful and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

I have only marked down as 2 dishes I tired to order were sold out and my substitute dessert (pavlova) only had 1 slice of fruit. However, we were eating fairly late (8pm) and the restaurant was very busy so food appeared to be running short. The staff were very pleasant and apart from the lack of fruit in the pavlova the meal was tasty and very good value.

"We visit Peels about once a year, this is the third time we’ve chosen the tasting menu. We have always had a fabulous time. The format has changed so that you can choose either a 4 or 7 course tasting menu. There is now no a la carte option. We chose the 4 course tasting menu with the accompanying flight of wines. The flight of wines option was £55 each. In contrast to previous years, the wine served was very frugal. Between 4 people I doubt we enjoyed more 2 bottles of wine in volume, at the absolute most, though I appreciate you are getting the benefit of a wine description as it is being poured parsimoniously. The ingredient combinations for each of the four courses were quite safe bland, some of the textures not quite right. The meal was rescued a little by the chef’s additional extras which were more flavoursome than the main dishes. The environment the ambience were very enjoyable, though the service became a little ragged as the night wore on. We used gift vouchers which made a partial contribution to the meal (without going into detail) the handling of these was clumsy to say the least. Normally I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Peels but, on this experience given the expense, I couldn’t currently do so. In short, I suggest that Peels needs to up its game, especially where the food is concerned."
