"After visiting a special exhibition at the British Museum, we had lunch at this restaurant. We began with the crab and venison starters and shared a perfectly cooked medium rare beef dish. The atmosphere was fantastic, as always, and the service was impeccable. For dessert, we enjoyed the almond panna cotta. The wine list was extensive, with excellent wines available at reasonable prices."

"My evening at the Royal Oak Was pleasant but Service was very slow. Waiting quite a while to be served and when served orders were not out through properly which meant we was waiting for food which we thought had been ordered but it hadn’t. With no app to order off, it was quite hard to get the attention of the staff when the music was quite loud and we was tucked away in the corner so not in eye vision. On the other hand All the staff was lovely and the booking process was easy. Very accommodating."

"I'm sorry it was terrible. They said they didn't have my booking. He waited for 20 minutes for a drink that was terrible when he arrived, the Prosecco tasted. The pasta was not boiled one end had not made the water! Then to finish it, the Tiramisu was frozen!! They took it back and clear microwaves it as it was sloppy a dude and still cold in the middle incredible!"

"Having made a booking via OpenTable and receiving a confirmation email, 24 hours later had a phone call from Browns to say they could offer me a table at 5pm or 9pm but not at 7pm which was the time of my booking. No apologies just that the way it is. OpenTable just blamed Browns and said I could always phone the restaurant to confirm a booking, not seeing the ridiculousness of that suggestion as it renders their platform to irrelevance. So I am giving an all round one star, but to be clear we did not eat there."

"We had Sunday there just now. The service was poor and the roast dinner did not have green veg at all . The potatoes tasted like they had been ‘ warmed up ‘ they were very hard and dry . We used to go to...this venue when it was called Sea Salt and we were happy to pay above average prices and the food and service was good . The Pearl is a restaurant that charges for a bottle of coke and the whole experience was well below par. We waited a long time to be asked about drinks , then other tables received theirs before us altho they came in afterwards . After our meal we were again just left there long after we had finished then they removed the plates and again we waited minutes before we were offered desert by which time we just wanted the bill . We then waited for someone to come so we could pay . My daughter had to get up and find someone who could take the payment . My daughter removed the service charge from the payment . We will not go back. Also accessibilty for disabled ones is not good , I went up the stairs using my walking stick but this restaurant does not accommodate disabled people satisfactorily. In this day and age it is deplorable ."

"My missus wanted to go somewhere for brunch, so picked this spot. It did not let us down. Good parking availability on a bank holiday, and we all enjoyed our meals. My burger was cooked a perfect medium, and the gherkins were cut super thin (thick gherkins overpower/ruin any good burger), and the cheese was melted onto the burger Just how it should be. The Aioli the fries were served with was either freshly made, or very high quality pre bought. Fries were crispy, too. The full English wasn't the best, as the sausage was overcooked, and we received fried eggs instead of poached. That being said, mistakes can happen. The service staff (not one, but 4 of them) were phenomenal with the kids. They all said hello, offered the little ones high 5s, and we're very cheerful with the kids. I don't know if this is a rule from management, we just happened to see the right 4 service staff, or my kids happen to be cuter than most But I'm going to go with management expecting their staff to be friendly with kids. Prices were good for the area, but a little overpriced for the food, so no complaints there. Would I visit again? Yes."

"We parked opposite and as you look across at the restaurant in the dark the twinkling lights made it look welcoming. We had a warm greeting, with menus given and our drinks and food order taken promptly. We chose to share the warm breads and Chateaubriand. The breads were scrummy and so warm, felt like they were just out of the oven. And the Chateaubriand was out of this world…..it came with sauces, mac’n’cheese, onion rings, garlic mushrooms, chips and a rocket salad. It was all incredible and will rank as one of our best meals out ever! The service was subtle, friendly and attentive and the playlist was great. Thank you for a really lovely experience."

"Waited 45 minutes for our starters (which was cold salty) to arrive and hadn't received our drinks until we decided to leave because of the poor service. The management did not care for any of the customers who were not in a pods and refrained from dealing with our complaints until we approached them. Clearly the restaurant can not manage serving their customers at the capacity of pods as well as the restaurant. I recommend focusing their efforts on the pods as it seems to be the only customers they can manage. I blame the management rather than the waiting staff as it was nothing they could do but deal with the amount of customers."

"It wasn't a great start when we weren't offered a childrens menu for our daughter, when we asked if they had one we were asked her age, she was sat at the table with us and they could clearly see she was of young age. once we ordered it had been 15-20 mins and our drinks hadnt arrived, when we chased it up they hadn't even put the water through. Daughters juice wasn't even chilled and no ice with it. The wine eventually arrived after the starters. No one really asked how the food was, scallops and soup for starter were ok, I has the seafood linguine for main, i can only describe it as too much tomato and lacked any seasoning. They then included £20 service charge, we have no issue with paying it normally if we have received good service, however we asked for it to be taken off considering there was no decent service for the whole meal."

"The soup was very good . Main course : gnocchi/ broccoli was rather tasteless and unfortunately the pastry in the tart statin was not good. Admittedly the staff were busy setting up after the pre theatre rush but our table had to wait quite a long time even for a drink. "I booked this restaurant for a post theater dinner for my mother's birthday. We arrived 20 mins early but the restaurant was able to accommodate us as it was empty, it was around 5:40pm. The waiters were not very welcoming or friendly. The service was slow even though the restaurant was empty. The food was below average. One of my party ordered calamari and when it arrived it was all batter and the calamari was dried out and hard. The mains were below average. I was very disappointed with the food and the service. The restuarant did not even acknowledge that the booking was for a birthday, it was only when i mentioned it whilst paying the bill they offered to bring a complimentary cake with a candle but by then i felt it was too late. It was definitely not the kind of birthday dinner I had planned for my mother. I would definitely not recommend the place and the lack of ambiance in the restaurant was made worse by the building works going on outside."

"At the arrival we had to wait as they couldn't find the booking. When ordering one of my guest asked to have the chicken breast without sweetcorn and after the waiter came back saying the chef explained the sweetcorn is the main ingredient in the menu as it's cooked ways and not having sweetcorn would alter the original taste of the recipes, my guest asked if something else could be added instead. When the food was delivered the staff didn't ensure we had everything we needed, salt and pepper were missing and a check back wasn't given throughout the dinner. The chips were dry and far overcooked, the RibEye was uneatable, the duck breast was tough, chewy and overcooked, the haddock dish was oversalted. Everything was a complete disappointment and not worthy all that money!"

"the first time to eat here, absolutely loved. meat was to die, much salat hot and cold, but the meat is the star, huh, bark, steak, but the Brazilian sausages are simply the most delicious type of sausage I have ever tasted. in contrast to some restaurants they know how to keep a good pint. happy cold brahma went down a tasty bite. everything in all I can say that I come back. fantastic!"

"Husband had booked us in for our anniversary dinner, especially looking forward to their Tapas. On arrival (it was a Thursday evening), the place was very quiet, and we were told that there was no food being served today. We ended up having a pint and a cocktail. Hubby was happy with his beer, however I was left disappointed with my cocktail, the glass being half-full and the cocktail not at all tasking like it was supposed to be. We are debating if we will give Market House another try."

"Actually, this place has to hire friendly staff. two of them were completely inappropriate, especially one of the managers on the floor. I couldn't wait to go from the table within seconds. I mean, if they ask someone how to eat, they at least try to pretend that they hear the answer! when we ask for black pepper....we mean freshly ground pepper....not the cheap witness they leave on the table. the food took a because to come when we asked that everything (starter and net) comes at the same time. I don't know why they are punished when we go for this option, but that was a break. the food was well cooked and pleasant, but the experience was not great. and back to the useless manager, if we wish a reception after the payment with a credit card, we do not want the credit card receipt to the preprinted bill with the list of ordered items."

"The food is excellent, fresh, high quality, varied (fabulous variety) plentiful and all presented beautifully. The meat is carved at the table as and when you want it and there is every kind of meat available, it is amazing as it is all served hot, lovely. The service is also excellent and professional. Requested a cake for my sisters 60th Birthday and it was so well done and delivered by members of the staff who all did it with good humour and made it very special and memorable for us all. Thank you to all of you, every staff member was polite, friendly and professional. You are a superb team. You made us all very happy."

"Honestly this place needs to hire friendlier staff. Two of them were completely unsuitable, especially one of the managers on the floor.
