"I received a parking fine over 2 years ago and there were no signs on the table. Couldn't be bothered with all the hassle so eventually paid a fine for the worst meal I have ever eaten. Would rather be over charged for food at bents, as at least they provide nice food and free parking with no threat of a fine. I know at least 10 people who have been fined at this pub for simply supporting a local business. Not just myself) Such a shame as the pub is a beautiful building and I remember it being good home cooked food and free parking back in the 90s. Another local pub decimated. : ."

"The pub has a nice atmosphere, but the food is just average. When we arrived, we were informed that there was a £25 minimum charge on Sundays, but they eventually waived it since I wasn't aware of that requirement when I made the reservation. The outdoor area is pleasant, although there are no markers or sunshades available. Additionally, the service was quite slow."

"Went here last night, got informed there was no liver or chilli before we ordered, we ordered 3 fillets steaks and fish and chips for mains I had mushrooms to start, waited over 30 minutes for starters, table opposite us got theirs before I got mine they despite them coming in 20 minutes after. Mushrooms were delicious. Got told no steaks, so we ordered another 2 fish and chips and a burger. 2 fish were fine my batter was really soggy on the bottom, the burger was really dry and bland like it was pre cooked and reheated. Table service was fine, but for me a big foodie, the food was not up to it, great pub with a good atmosphere, the food just lets it down. Needless to say I will not be going back for a meal there again. This is the 2nd time I've gone for a meal there to which they didn't have things on the menu that I wanted. Shame, such a nice place too. Parking: Ample parking for about 20 cars if people park correctly, so space on the road with no yellow lines Kid-friendliness: Outside garden for kids in the summertime"

"We ate at Hashi before the lockdown began last year, and then since then have been enjoying takeaway as well as in restaurant dining (when allowed). We love the variety of food, all prepared and presented well, and delicious. I always am reticent to try local sushi places as you never know the quality of the fish. Hashi was suggested on Tripadvisor w very good feedback so we went for it. They have a huge menu in restaurant, a bit smaller menu online. Food for takeaway was packed very well impressed that nothing went awry in our boxes. They only missed one item which they replaced in our next order. The team (Jin most especially) are friendly and super helpful. The food is not cheap so don’t expect Wasabi level prices or quality Hashi is much better with good ingredients, nice size sushi and sashimi, perfectly cooked and flavoured sushi rice, plenty of sauces accompanying certain dishes, and overall just the right value for money we expect. We always get the yakiudon (kids fav) and prawn tempura. The parents sway between sushi katsu curry. Our average family meal runs about £100 for food only. We order almost weekly at this point and probably will continue to do so even as lockdown lifts as they make it so convenient and easy to do so. Straight from the box to the table!"

"what a fabulous stay at oxenham arms. it was only for a few nights this time, but we will definitely be back for a longer stay. we really can't find a mistake. the hotel itself has an enviable history and is located in the beautiful village south zeal. our reception was warm and welcoming and the owners, lin simon were very hospitable. john was very friendly as he checked us, booked us for dinner, shown us in our rooms and talked about the hotel. the room in which we were was immaculately clean and the bathroom immaculate. we especially liked to leave their shoes (in a shoe floor) outside the room. we lick dirty carpets in hotel rooms and this is a simple but really effective way to keep the rooms immaculate. about eating, it was delicious. everything is made fresh and the chefs earn real praise for the quality of the food they supply. our hostess, hollie was an absolute joy. another observation. we have a recent Skating review of someone who was at an early stage, at the same time we are accused of being the owner of the rude. that has upset us because it is not true. it is actually the other way round and the women actually came as rude to the owner. it's pretty sad how they can post such a bad review if it's not really what happened. excellent hotel and restaurant and can not recommend the oxenham arms very much."

"So I’ve been a big advocate for this place but I have to say after last night. Sumo is now a no go for me! I ordered my normal, sweet and sour chicken and jasmine rice. First bite, I crunched into something that I thought wasn’t very nice? I then looked and inspected the chucked which was dark grey at best, I then removed a horrible piece of dark bone and some type of cartilage that was it, enough to put me off my meal. On inspecting the other pieces of chicken I wasn’t very impressed. My partner orders the duck boa bun, there was duck but literally nothing else, no copper spring onion or anything else they just have ran out. I rang up to complain, the person I spoke to said he’d ring the owner and get back to me but they didn’t. Plenty more places to try but that’s us done coming here. Unfortunately my experience then put everyone off their food so it all ended up in the bin!"

"This restaurant offers the best Sunday roast in town. Richard makes a delicious gravy that really sets it apart. I would give it a 5-star rating. The price per person is between £10-20, and the food, service, and atmosphere all receive top marks. I highly recommend trying the Sunday Roast. There is plenty of parking available, with a free parking lot option."

"Date of Visit : 5th and 6th May 2023. Location: The location is very convenient, only one minute drive from the exit point (Isle of Wight) of Red Funnel Ferry and may be 4 minutes’ walk. Come out of the Ferry, go straight, and take the third exit from the roundabout, then turn left (Restaurant is on right hand side – one way). Plenty of Council Control Car Park that can be used. Food: The food was really delicious, and you can find varieties of Veg and Non-Veg options. You can also request food either to be spicy or less spicy depends on your choice and they will be happy to do so. Quality: Food quality was brilliant, and portion is really better. Price: I must say the prices were really great, and for group of 4 Adults it only cost us £60. Staff: All the Staff members of Restaurant were really helpful and made our experience pleasant. They were interactive and guide us with places to visit. I must add they have great patience level, as it took a while for us to decide on our order. I had a wonderful experience, and I would highly recommend this Restaurant to others."

"really beautiful location and the ladies served coffee were beautiful and really helpful. we have booked the place after the high-time meeting place by 60, as we had guests from all over the world who had come at the very moment. meal was nice to say that I had fish and chips, the problem was the restaurant manger who was rude (the one who would be out there, pretended to float him with her tablet and said that there was always one, his breaking he ordered 2 drinks, but canceled 1, that she bought and he felt that he had to hear it) was annoying ok and thought it was buying her. my son had to ask her to rest because it was really embarrassing. I will submit a formal complaint when I find out who, besides her, the orangery, as it is from order, not called for and I feel bad as I choose the place. when they think of the business we bought them on the afternoon of the week, we expect that we will be treated with something more respectful"

"The service at this restaurant was outstanding! I accidentally ordered the chicken sandwich instead of the burger I wanted, but the waiter quickly made the switch without charging me extra, even though the burger was more expensive. It's not just about the food, it's about the overall experience. This goes to show that you don't have to go to a Michelin-starred restaurant in London to receive exceptional service. I was very impressed and will definitely be returning!"

"Went to this sham of a place last night as we have been regularly ordering recently with no issues before. Sent my little brother in with £50.00 cash only for him to be sent out with 10p. The lady on the phone initially said the price would be £42.00, my mum called her back up and when asked what the price was again she said another price of £39.50 which still doesn’t add up with the cash she gave back to us. She then said she would cash the till after 30 minutes still no call back. She didn’t want to even engage on the phone, talking over us, just RUDE!! Basically they’ve robbed us £8 and because it’s all cash they’re claiming we gave them £40. Poor poor communication skills. "The service was excellent and the restaurant was clean, pleasant, and peaceful. We made a reservation for four adults and an 8-month-old baby, and the waitstaff went above and beyond to assist us. The food was delicious. We started with tuna sashimi and California rolls. For our main dishes, I had the pork belly ramen while my friends had the beef bento, pad thai, and beef noodles – all were very tasty and came out simultaneously. Most importantly, the portions were generous. It is a simple, clean, and stylish restaurant. I highly recommend it."

"Having been searching for local sushi that's on a par with a couple of my favourite restaurants up in London, I finally tried Sakura and I'm so happy I did. There's an extensive menu, of which I tried 3 different rolls, and have to say they were all fantastic. The flavours in each were distinct, fresh and one which had prawn tempura in was crisp and not at all greasy. Really looking forward to ordering again very soon. Service: Take out"
