"Went to this sham of a place last night as we have been regularly ordering recently with no issues before. Sent my little brother in with £50.00 cash only for him to be sent out with 10p. The lady on the phone initially said the price would be £42.00, my mum called her back up and when asked what the price was again she said another price of £39.50 which still doesn’t add up with the cash she gave back to us. She then said she would cash the till after 30 minutes still no call back. She didn’t want to even engage on the phone, talking over us, just RUDE!! Basically they’ve robbed us £8 and because it’s all cash they’re claiming we gave them £40. Poor poor communication skills. Food was as basic as it comes, kids running the shop will not be going back! Service: Takeaway Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £40–50 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

During my vacation in the area, I was searching for some delicious takeout, and this restaurant truly impressed me! The food was outstanding, despite the menu having a somewhat limited selection. Overall, I would give it a perfect 5 for the food, a 5 for the service, and a 5 for the atmosphere.

This restaurant provides an excellent takeout experience! The food is amazing and definitely deserves a perfect 5 out of 5 rating. I highly recommend the Crispy Vegetable Roll and the Egg Fried Rice, as both dishes are truly outstanding. The service is also superb, warranting another 5 out of 5 rating. All in all, it's a wonderful option for dinner at a great price! View menu

Xmas Eve, thought I’d try again after a poor meal, should have stayed away! Chicken in black bean sauce and chicken fried rice, chicken in black bean sauce was raw, gristly, horrible texture and disgusting there won’t be a 3rd visit, avoid this terrible quality, high price shambles of a takeaway that used to be good. Oh, and I had what I believe was caused by this meal, food poisoning over Xmas. Thanks Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1

I recently dined at this restaurant for dinner, and overall, I had a very pleasant experience. The food was delicious, earning a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The menu offered a variety of tasty options, and my meal was both flavorful and satisfying. Additionally, the service was commendable, also rating a 4 out of 5. The staff was attentive and friendly, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. With the reasonable price range of £10 to £20 per person, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience!

I recently tried the chicken curry here, and I want to share my thoughts. The menu indicates that the rice is Japanese-style, which was unfortunately quite sticky and hard to eat—I didn’t realize that beforehand. If you're hoping for a delightful Chinese curry, I wouldn’t recommend this dish. I found it rather disappointing overall. The chicken consisted of large pieces of processed meat, accompanied by raw onions and only a few carrot slices. I understand that this might not be their specialty, but we opted for this restaurant instead of the five-star Indian place across the street. Just a warning if you're considering placing an order. I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The beef dish was utterly bland, and although it was supposed to have ginger, I couldn’t detect any at all. The beef was so tough that it was nearly impossible to eat, and I couldn't even tell if it was real beef. The egg fried rice had just a few bits of egg and lacked flavor as well. The chicken and cashew dish was equally underwhelming—there were only five cashews in the entire meal, and the chicken was rubbery and unappealing. I definitely won't be ordering from here again! Additionally, the restaurant only accepts cash, which is quite inconvenient. Overall, I’d rate the food a 1.

**Meal Type:** Dinner **Price Per Person:** £10-£20 **Food Rating:** 3/5 **Service Rating:** 5/5 **Atmosphere Rating:** 3/5 I recently ordered dinner from Takeout, and overall, it was a mixed experience. The food was decent but didn't quite hit the mark for me, earning a 3 out of 5. The flavors were satisfactory, but nothing stood out as exceptional. What truly impressed me was the service. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, providing a seamless ordering experience that deserves a solid 5 out of 5. The atmosphere was average, scoring a 3 out of 5. While it wasn’t unpleasant, it didn’t have a unique vibe that would make me want to dine in. In summary, Takeout of...

"We visited your pub on Sunday 24th September 2023 for a celebratory birthday meal and had a table booked at 130pm We arrived 10 mins early and were told our table was not ready in the restaurant We were told there was no where to sit so we had to just stand by bar but we had my elderly mum so we perched her on a chair We were not offered a drink of any kind and the staff just carried on After 10 minutes we were then told our table was one in the bar which had been empty for the 10 mins was. In my view our table should have been in the restaurant but someone was still on it and now we know why Our order was not taken for another 15 mins. It was busy but there was just no customer service what so ever Our food arrived around 230 45 minutes for a roast and after a waiter came over to check our order again so I think it was lost No one came to ask us if the food was ok or we were ok It was busy but there seem to be plenty of staff however I would say it was organised chaos At no time were we told the food would be so long even when we asked where it was Walk ins were still being seated and orders taken even when the current orders were not filled and people were clearly having to wait a ridiculous time for their food hence no table for us in the restaurant The food when it eventually arrived was tasty however not very warm I don’t think we were the first or last to complain about the service When we said that we’d had a dire experience the bar manager said that the chef had only been with the pub for a month and 2 of his bar staff were worse for wear! I’m sorry you don’t say this to your paying customers who have paid hard earned money for a nice meal Completely understand if they were having kitchen issues and wouldn’t mind a delay if front of house were more attentive and useful Won’t be coming again on what was a great pub but now a total let down Just not good enough I’m afraid and no apologies just excuses Would avoid"

"A group of 4 of us ate in on a Sunday evening whilst staying in the area, attracted by the BYO facility. Tbh, we weren 't expecting too much from such a small unassuming place with 4 tables in a shopping area. How wrong we were! We often go for a curry and can honestly say this was probably the best we 've had! A great selection of delicious curries, we had Sikander Badi Lamb, which was so tender it fell off the bone, Moglai chicken containing large chunks of succulent 'real ' chicken (as oppose to preformed chicken, which you often get), a Lamb Tikka Roshni with lovely tender and lean lamb pieces, and a Chicken Tikka Mahkany, all very well presented. The rice was fluffy and light, I particularly liked the coconut rice and my friend loved the vegetable rice, with proper chunks of veg in it. The garlic nan bread was cut up nicely for us to share, bombay potatoes were lovely large spiced chunks and the poppadums were large and crispy, as were the onion bhajis. Portions were huge and they kindly provided boxes/bags to take our leftovers away. Even tho it was a small informal place, they kept standards high with pristine white linen table cloths and napkins. We brought beer and wine with us (no corkage) and bought some soft drinks there. The bill for the 4 of us arrived with chocolate mints and hot towels and came to around £98 (no tip added, so we left our own, as we received good and friendly service). Payment by cash or cheque only. We will certainly be eating here if we are in the area again!"

"My husband and I went to the halfway on our way home as we thought it was a dog friendly pub. We have 2 dogs, one confident and rarely barks, and the other one who is very nervous, but we have been working with her to build her confidence. Our dog had been doing really well at The Pound in Aller and the Prince Alfred at Burrowbridge, so we wanted to widen her experience. We chose the Halfway House at Langport, as we saw on line, it was dog friendly. Sadly as my dog, although I was using training techniques to try to calm her, when a couple came to sit near us, our nervous dog, was more nervous. The couple were lovely and continued to talk to us while we calmed our dog, understanding she was scared. Sadly the bar staff spoke to us, and said, your dog is barking, people are eating. I could not do more than I was to mange the training, so told the bar person, we would finish our drinks and leave. He said, it wasn’t him, it was everyone else. This was not very helpful. The people we were taking to said they often have evenings when they have lots of dogs and they can become barky and hoped they would see us again. We will not be going back again, some pubs are child friendly and you expect some noise from children, I thought a dog friendly pub would understand some noise from dogs, especially those who the owner is trying to help increase their confidence. We understand the establishment can decide who they want in their business. I thought we were going to be in a pub who understood nervous dogs, but this was not the case. We now understand the owners want to allow dogs, not not nervous dogs. This is a lovely pub, but only wants quiet dogs."
