"I came in for dinner after calling the restaurant to make a reservation and to ask if they have vegan vegetarian options on the menu. I was told there was. We were enjoying our dinner until I found pork inside my kimchi stew. On ordering the stew there is ‘NO PORK’ option on the order form, which I ticked. We informed the waitress who came back and apologised for the mistake which was made by the chef in the kitchen. Apparently the waitress wrote NO PORK on the order but the chef missed this. We don’t eat pork as it is forbidden in our religion so it was very upsetting for us. The waitress offered to make the dish again without the pork this time, but we refused and wanted to pay and leave as we were really upset. When the bill came they omitted that one dish but gave no discount and added the 10% service charge on the bill! We asked to speak to the manger but was told she couldn’t come out as she doesn’t speak English. The gentleman who came out instead laughed and said the kimchi soup has no flavour it without the pork! The lack of remorse and understanding or basic care of rectifying the situation even though they could See how distressed we were was appalling. After we complained to the staff and complained about them adding service charge to the bill they reluctantly omitted the service charge off the bill. I will never recommend this place for anyone vegan vegetarian or with any allergies or food intolerances be it religious of other to come here."

"I stumbled upon this little cafe in Brynymor Road the other day and went in for a quick bite on their special offer menu, which was a mere £4.80 for starters and a main course. The main reason I went in was because it was mainly Chinese people eating there, the menu was in Mandarin script and English, and there were lots of interesting and authentic sounding dishes on offer. Inside, it is simply furnished with formica tables and has a takeaway service too. Service was efficient as you'd expect. You order at the counter and the starters arrived quickly. My husband had prawn toasts, which were I think the nicest I have ever tried, with a large juicy prawn on each one (well, I let him eat most of them). I had 3 war tip, which I had never tried before, but they were delicious, being dumplings with a crispy golden coating they reminded me of hot spicy pork pies. Very yummy. The choice of main courses on the set menu was small, with chow mein and curry and sweet and sour chicken that sort of thing. OH had chicken curry and rice, while I had chicken fried rice, mainly so I could share the fried rice with OH, who prefers that to boiled (or we'd have had to pay more for fried and we decided to stick within the offer). After the tasty first courses, I was rather disappointed with the mains. My fried rice contained some chicken, and very small amounts of rice and peas and no other veggies so was rather boring, and the rice was to my taste overcooked and clumpy. OH was happy with the taste of his chicken curry (standard fare) but the boiled rice was again overcooked and in lumps and way too much for the amount of sauce so it soaked it all up and made the meal dry. We both left tons of rice. OH said he would never come in again, but I think that with a more careful choice of main, I would enjoy it or just buy a big range of starters and avoid the rice! I appreciate that some people may prefer their rice cooked softer, but as it wasn't Thai sticky rice, I felt it really was overdone. But those war tip were just delishhhhh."

"I have been here and ordered for pick-up/delivery so many times (I've actually lost count) that I feel it is my moral duty to tell everyone about how incredible this restaurant is. First things first, the food: The sushi/sashimi is delicious and it's clear the...fish is carefully sourced. The sushi chefs themselves are greatly skilled. They're quick but the preparation isn't rushed at all. They have a high attention to detail (and the size of the individual pieces you get are very generous). The presentation is also very nice. The same applies for the hot food that I have tried. Their teriyaki, ramen and yaki soba/udon dishes are fantastic (their portion sizes are also very generous). In regards to their dessert, I have only tried their custard dorayaki but it was a lovely dish. The pancakes themselves are soft but with a perfect firmness, with lovely thick custard inside. They provide this dessert with strawberries too. A great mix. The service: all the staff there are absolutely lovely. They are so friendly, attentive and very professional. You get a very warm reception and it feels like a very positive environment. The decor: I'm a big fan of the interior styling, it gives the restaurant a very elegant character. It feels like all the different elements complement each other. It's nicely balanced. Value for money: the prices are extremely reasonable, especially when you take into account the quality of the food and the amount you're given. Delivery: I typically pick the food up myself as I live so close to the restaurant. I typically wait 15 minutes for my food to be ready. To me, that is very quick. Location: it's a very short walk to Archway station and various bus routes. Very good location. Rooms for improvement: this is extremely picky but the one thing I'd improve is the hand dryer in the toilets."
