"Possibly the fastest I’ve ever been seated, ordered, served and paid in any restaurant. No sooner we’re we seated we were asked to order and still eating the starter when the pizzas arrived unbelievable. In and out in around 50 mins is not my idea of a relaxing dinner out. The Pizza was better than average, certainly better than the well known chains but it was spoilt by the ridiculous speed and churn."

"We had a wonderful meal at a lovely café located in the harbor of Tarbert. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and there were five fantastic vegan options on the menu. I enjoyed a delicious sweet potato and bean chili with rice, while my partner had a Moroccan pea dish with herbed couscous. We also shared some tasty garlic sautéed mushrooms and bread as an appetizer. The portions were generous and the food was incredibly delicious. They even offered two different plant-based milk options for coffee. Although we didn't inquire about the cake, we highly recommend this restaurant for vegans and non-vegans alike."

"We visited this restaurant last night, the first time in a few years. The service was good and friendly. The pate was okay, and the dough balls were also just okay. The calzone and mushroom risotto were average, while the gnocchi was okay. Overall, the food was nothing special. The prices were quite high, with beers costing £7.50 each and Sprites priced at £4.75. We ended up spending £162 for four people, including a bottle of mid-priced wine. We were not impressed enough to come back in a hurry."

"As someone with a dairy allergy, unfortunately there wasn't much choice on the menu. Their menu online has more allergen info than the qr code I was asked to scan. On the mains I could only have fish and chips. Although there was a tasty vegan dessert for after so I was looking forward to that. Considering we were one of the first tables in we had a long wait for our mains. When our food did arrive, the fish was over cooked. My husband had a pie and he mentioned it was over cooked but the base of the pie was stodgy. The kicker came when our deserts arrived. I ordered the vegan Belgian waffle with vegan vanilla raspbwrry swirl ice cream. My son who doesn't have a dairy allergy ordered a brownie with ice cream. The vegan ice cream on my dish looked identical. When I questioned the waitress, she said sometimes when they scoop the ice cream it didn't always have the swirl. A minute later she came back and took my desert away and said she'd check with the kitchen. As suspected, the ice cream I was given wasn't dairy free or vegan. It's a good thing I hadn't tucked in. If no one else on my table had ice cream, I might not have known. They did replace my dish and knocked off the desert off the bill. That night could've ended very badly."

"I saw an advert for this pub in one of those free magazines that come through the door. I took an old lady to celebrate her 95th birthday. There was a good choice of main meals but I would like to see more vegetarian. We settled for salmon (without the ham wrap) but was disappointed it didn't come with any vegetables. It was delicious and hot. The desert was nice, apple crumble but only 1 small scoop of ice cream. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. It was a bit pricey for a lunch for 2 people but it was her birthday so I paid. Might go again, might get a smaller portion for the old lady."

"My family and I enjoyed our first meal at The Caernarfon Tandoori Restaurant after reading an article in the Daily Post that said that this restaurant had been named Indian Restaurant of the Year for Wales. The food was delicious with really amazing flavours, fresh ingredients and spices and a taste sensation that is absolutely perfect. The food is full of epic flavours, absolute perfection. The staff are welcoming, efficient, friendly and professional. My family and I all really appreciate the fantastic service that The Caernarfon Tandoori Restaurant provide, it was a pleasure to dine at such a fantastic restaurant that has a wonderful menu with an excellent selection of food to choose from. We really liked the cool, stylish interior in the restaurant that was beautifully designed and very comfortable. "our second stay in the golden lion and we have breakfast and din in the restaurant at both locations. the personal was always pleasant, attentive and helpful. the restaurant eating was good, we have a special steak and mushroom cake at one of our meal times at this opportunity cost, and it was most substantially and filling we had to go to dessert! the restaurant is a very pleasant place to eat and I appreciated the drowned thwaites beer."

"terrible service. never recommend this place. we had the table reserved for 12 including children on the phone. in restaurant is the table only for 8 people. then he came to another table for 2 and asked us to adapt, we did not know why the waiter gave us only once on order food. later we realized that eating is the worst, and never ordering people again. also he was compelling to order an adult basic course for children. How would that happen? When we came to eat, we did not expect eating to be as authentic as in the hometown, it was not even close to what it resembles. Moreover, we have ordered their homemade specialties. poorest service and eat."

"If you’re looking for an amazing sunset location with drinks in a unique setting on the beach, this is it. Unfortunately it’s not well kept with broken tables etc nor is it very clean, and it’s overpriced in that respect. The bar staff seem to be hanging around with nothing to do when they could be wiping down tables and clearing the empties. Even the new toilets, opened less than a week ago, are not being kept well. They have a USP and the owners are relying on that rather than focussing on standards but for the amazing location and sunsets, will I come back? Yes, I will."

"We are regular visitors to this pub dining with various members of our family on different occasions. We booked a table for on December. After taking our seats at pm we ordered drinks and subsequently ordered mains. It took a long while...before these were served, but we didn't mind as we like relaxed meals. After our plates were cleared we were looking forward to seeing the desert menu. Imagine our surprise when we were presented with the bill!! After asking about desert we were curtly told that the pub closed at Maybe this should have been mentioned before we undertook to have a celebration lunch as a Christmas gift. Also had the mains arrived at a reasonable time perhaps there may have been time to wolf down desert???? What a very poor show shame on your hospitality Cross Keys!! A great disappointment to all on our table. We are very partial to desert and to us a meal is not a meal without it . Happy Christmas "

"We eat here regularly, sometimes we sit in for lunch, other times we get a takeaway and on occasion we’ll pop in to grab a coffee and a chat. The staff are always friendly and happy to chat, especially Eddie the manager, but also the waiting staff and even the chef will take a few moments to say hello. The food is always fresh and cooked to order as well as quite reasonably priced, don’t go in if you’re not hungry because the portions are generous. If you are feeling brave order the Calzone, it’s a monster of a meal but so delicious."

"We visited early December of last year (2022 . We took my husband’s grandmother out for lunch. We chose The White Horse based on recommendations (a lot of them! . When asking for recommendations from friends/family the most important thing was ‘homemade’ food for us. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by the lady behind the bar. She was super helpful, explained how to order and offered to get us a highchair. After explaining our almost 2 year old would climb out of a highchair she went and got a booster seat so he could sit up the table with us which worked a treat! Even when it came down to ordering wine (I’m not a wine drinker the bar lady went over to our table to chat about wines and then choose one for a member of our party which she loved. Right, the important bit the FOOD…. Oh my goodness where do I start? My husband had the Panang Thai curry, it looked amazing and he said it tasted incredible. I opted for lasagne, the mince was lovely and tender. It came with a good amount of salad, coleslaw and chips. Grandmother had the fish and chips and said she could not fault it. Nice choice of children’s meals and my son’s looked very appetising. We would 100% return to this pub. Honestly their food offering is well above what most pubs would offer. Only regret is we didn’t try it sooner."

"Here for a late birthday meal based on the reviews we had seen. At first entering I was a bit taken back by the very simple economical decoration, but was warmly welcomed and shown on our table. Order some dinks while we decided to go with the menus and all decided to go with the Thai options, starters came after 5 or 10 minutes and looked very well presented and during tasting they lived up to expectations. The mains were served shortly after the starters and again were all well presented and tasted delicious, all in all some of the best Thai \oriental food we had and would definitely recommend."

"We walked into the George totally drenched, muddy and dripping wet during a walking weekend. The team at the George (Frances, Ellie and Debbie) could not have been more welcoming. Food and drink was superb as we dried out beside the wood fire. Unbelievably they even offered to post back some excess gear we were complaining about carrying with us. "This is our neighborhood pub, and we hadn't been there in a while. However, we decided to go there for my birthday in November and it was fantastic. We ordered Sunday lunch, with the choice of roast chicken, lamb, or beef, served with roast potatoes and all the trimmings. For dessert, we had cheesecake, sticky toffee pudding, or apple pie. The food was delicious and high quality, so we will definitely be returning to this pub."

"I visited the sportsman on good Friday with my family. it was a beautiful day, so went for a nice dog walk and then decided to eat there. it was very busy as expected, as it was a bank holiday. that said. I don't think there is an apology for rude personal or contaminated condition. the waitress who dealt with this thema was very apologetic and ordered it immediately. but it should not happen first. covid! the food left much to wish. I've been several times before and always had a good experience. I can only assume that it has changed the hands because our experience left much to wish on good Friday."

"Not massively impressed, my partner ordered additional items to his meal (which cost extra) which he didn’t receive, my meal unfortunately came out mostly cold so I ate half of it and left the remaining. For 2 meals and 2 drinks which came to over £50 I was very unsatisfied. I don’t like to complain as the staff may have been up against it and the fact it was raining may possibly have meant they waited to bring the food out which meant that’s why it was a bit cold? The staff themselves were lovely so couldn’t fault them but sadly we hoped for better and to receive what had been paid for. "Four of us for lunch on Sunday. Booked online. Management unilaterally cancelled it by email. Called to ask why. Something to do with the football. They thought we might be trying to watch it with declaring that we were doing so. Told him we weren’t. Completely unapologetic about cancelling without a phone call. Managed to negotiate our booking back. Bizarre. Food very poor indeed. Would strongly not recommend lots of good pub food in the area. Drinks good and reasonable. Staff generally friendly apart from this manager. Said he would hit us over the head with his book if were still there at 5.30 on account of the football. We told him, yet again, that we would not be and indeed we were not. Poor experience."

"We were celebrating our family Christmas early and needed a very special meal out. The Foresters Arms was the perfect venue and the handsome chef here certainly knows his craft! The starters were fantastic. Cooked to perfection. Very tasty. Scallops with black pudding for the brave and an Egg Royale for the more “cautious” eaters. Both delicious and cooked to perfection. For our main course we were treated to a VERY special bespoke pie. This was served as a single pie to the table. It looked amazing. The surrounding tables gasped and asked us if it was on the menu. Beautifully decorated. Very very impressive! Cutting this at the table and sharing it out brought the theatre to the occasion. The beef melted in our mouths. Everyone had their own jug of gravy which is a nice touch. Plenty of vegetables and all cooked to perfection. Honestly delicious and excellent value for money. Service was attentive and very friendly. A perfect celebration for the family and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Thank you!!!"
