"We had high expectations for 28-50, and chose it for our one night in London. Sadly, it disappointed in every way. Although they had 30 by-the-glass options from many different regions, the majority of the offerings were a sad representation of mass-produced product. The service, though, is what really destroyed our experience. I try out wine bars in every city I visit as I’ve been in the wine business for 20 years, and put on dozens of tastings a year. This place was the bottom of the, err … barrel. The evening started fine enough with a decent cheese platter and passable. Chablis. But the strong start went rapidly downhill from there. One member of our party ordered a red, a simple Bordeaux, which was served lukewarm. It is unforgivable for a wine bar to not keep their wines at the proper temperature! But the biggest faux-pas came when the second glass I ordered, the Tuscan blend, showed up with a very low pour. It was certainly less than 2.5 ounces. I asked the server if they thought I had asked for the 75ml taster size, and instead of replying, they sent over the sommelier, Simone. He looked at the crappy pour in my glass, and said “let me check for you”. We just assumed he would return with the bottle and top it off correctly, but instead he went back to the bar and played around for several minutes with the glasses and pourers. He returned and proclaimed, “that was my mistake, I gave your companions too much wine in their glass”. (Believe me, NONE of the pours were generous). The four of us (three who are also in the hospitality business) were entirely dumbfounded that he would think this was the correct way to deal with things. From that point on everything went downhill. The food was borderline inedible. Seared tuna was just a mushy piece, with no sear. The tomato salad was made with low-quality tasteless produce. The steak was equally low-quality and incorrectly cooked. We left so much food on our plates, but the undertrained servers just swept them away, never asking if there was a issue. So this is the place to go to if you want bad food and boring offerings of wine priced 4 times what it would cost retail, some served at the wrong temperature, and get ripped off by underpours. Most of the wines on the list are $20 bottles sold in the supermarket. For example, La Crema (by Kendal Jackson) for Pinot Noir, or Lucas for Bordeaux. Other anemic offerings (although served at the correct temperature) were the bland Nebbiolo and Super Tuscan. Their highest priced, top-shelf wine at 28 a glass, is a ultra-modern Bordeaux by Kendall Jackson, Lassègue which tastes more like a cheap Napa Red. Those of us in the wine industry consider that wine a joke. As is 25-80."

"Booked a pod especially for a surprise birthday celebration after looking at the lovely pictures on the website. It was an hours drive away as half way point between us and other guests. Management suggested on arrival if we got too hot we could sit elsewhere but as it was cloudy we thought we would be okay....urm, no, it was like sitting in a greenhouse, but as we traveled for this, we toughed it out. They need to have a weather temp recommendation when booking. When I saw the pod I was bitterly disappointed at the rickety furniture, decor and overall cleanliness. Pod looked like it needed a good scrub. Had to wipe down the table as looked like hadn't been cleaned in a while, even though staff assured me it had been done twice before arrival. Table was pealing terribly and had dirty sheepskin throws on the chairs. I love shabby chic but this was more shabby than chic. Sitting on large, dusty, gravel, it was not great. Staff were polight and helpful but clueless. Handing out the wrong dish, missing some food off a plate and arrived cold, however it did taste okay but way over priced and definitely not worth the money. Wished we eat in the restaurant as it looked nicer. Pods may work in the dark as you wouldn't see the failings but still looked very amateur for the cost. I dined in a pod locally to me last year and it was sooo much better for a fraction of the cost. I Wouldn't recommend this for special occasions."

"Bar Salsa is definitely going to become a favourite place of mine to visit on a regular basis. I discovered it two weekends ago whilst exploring Soho, Covent Garden and Leicester Square with a friend. We were keen to catch up and so wanted to find a bar to sit down and have a relaxing drink. We were attracted to Bar Salsa instantly due to its vibrancy and fairy lights (very girly I know but they really would look lovely in the evening too! We went into the bar which set alight your senses. You just don 't know where to look! It has chic furnishings and quirky murals/paintings on the walls which were so bright and vibrant! Being a creative pair we were became very intrigued by the venue and took a look around downstairs. Downstairs was the 'club/bar ' area very dim let with an array of lights (even disco lights on the dance floor featuring different levels of flooring. It was so exhilarating; we instantly wanted to return on another occasion especially after we discovered they offer salsa nights for minimal money. The thought of dancing away to the Spanish club music soon became too much for us and we decided to return later on with boyfriends in tow (of course they wanted to salsa who wouldn 't?! . We ordered a bottle of wine to share which was good value for money. They also informed us that it would soon be happy hour and all cocktails would be at least half price! We were definitely staying! We sat in the outside courtyard in the sun which was lovely. The ambiance was great with people chatting away, we didn 't even notice the big, busy main road next to us! Happy hour soon arose and we ordered two cocktails at the downstairs bar. These were delicious, some of the best cocktails we had ever had! If we hadn 't had to have left to meet my friend 's boyfriend we would have stayed in there all evening! We did return in the evening but unfortunately didn 't enter as entry price rises after 9:00pm. Although highly disappointed by this we will no doubt return! I rated the Salsa bar a 4.5, we had a delightful experience but we are yet to experience the club and salsa.I definitely recommend any upbeat, easy going person to visit especially if they love music, dancing and cocktails!"

"I recently visited here during a weekend break in Kirkby Lonsdale and I was left extremely disappointed. I tried to book a table for around 8.30 9.00 but was told I could only have a table at 8.00. When I arrived I was asked to sit in the bar until my table was ready which was fairly quick as I was 5/10 mins early. I found the menu to be slightly disappointing and not very Italian inspired despite the name. My order was taken and my starter didn't arrive until around 8.45 which annoyed me slightly as I wanted to book a table later and wasn't able to. (By now the restaurant was almost empty). The garlic bread was lovely but the garlic mushrooms was smothered in pesto ??? The main courses were a complete disappointment once again the chicken pasta was smothered in pesto, probably to hide the fact that it was tasteless and only two pieces of chicken in the whole dish. The carbonara was all curdled. Rather than a smooth sauce it was all lumpy and separated. No black pepper or Parmesan offered. The portion sizes were decent and the fries were lovely. When letting the staff know how disappointed I was with the meal I didn't receive so much as an apology and they quickly asked us for the money and we left. I would definitely not visit here again. Apart from the appalling food I found that I wasn't treated how all the other customers in the restaurant were. This was my wedding anniversary treat and it was far from it!!!"
