"I'll start with the positives. The staff were very attentive and the pub was very clean. However, there were a few negatives. I booked Sunday lunch here based on a recommendation from the OpenTable app as a family-friendly pub. Unfortunately, my family of 4 children were seated next to two tables of rowdy and foul-mouthed young men. The portion sizes were decent but the food was overpriced for the quality. Each dish had something wrong with it, such as reheated mash, undercooked pastry, slimy mushrooms, and dry/burnt brownies. The price of drinks, particularly cola, was also quite high. I was also disappointed to see that the service charge added to the bill was over 10%. While I always tip between 10-25%, I don't appreciate being told how much to tip, especially when I wasn't impressed with the meal. In conclusion, I will not be returning to or recommending this venue."

"My wife is gluten and onion intolerant, and one of the things she misses more than anything is not being able to eat ‘fish and chips’ from a chip shop. Today, however she was euphoric as we discovered the ‘Royal Fish and Chip’ shop on a day out to Bognor. It was a spotlessly clean shop with wonderful helpful staff. A detailed ‘gluten free’ price list was displayed, and the prices did not incur any increase. Every item the shop produces is available as ‘gluten free’ on a daily basis. We cannot rate this shop highly enough, as we’ve never ever encountered a ‘gluten friendly’ business like this one. We will certainly be returning to this superb fish and chip shop."

"Booked a table for tonight for fathers day with my parents. Arrived at 6pm and seated, lovely server Sarah. Drinks and food order taken within 15 minutes. starters arrived by half six, mine was over cooked, mums was cold and my 11 year old niece could have made my dad's better. Fast forward to around 7pm when we asked were our mains were, advised not long, 15 minutes later we were still waiting. Manager advised he would get our food straight out, nearly an hour and a half after we arrived 2 out of 3 meals arrived and they looked nothing like we were expecting. Suffice it to say we left at this point. Would not recommend and will not be back"

"We had a really nice meal with friends and the food was lovely. My only critisism would be that at £7.50, the prawn cocktail starter was overpriced. The prawns and lettuce were very fresh but there was no bread with it as you would expect so it was quite a small portion for the money considering you can get a main meal for £10-12. It was quite busy but the staff was attentive and they were quick with both the food and drink orders. My main meal wasn't bought out with the others and I had to ask if they could check where it was as the other 3 had started eating their meals. It arrived a few minutes later. Overall a good experience and we would definitely go back again."

"Having had two meals recently at this location, we were looking forward to the same level of satisfaction. Initially all was fine ordering drinks and the salad bar met the past high standards, but our area became quite busy. There were families with young children that got louder and louder. The waitress spent some time seeing to their needs such that other tables had to wait. When the food arrived it seemed quite dry my meal being a repeat of my first visit it just didn't taste so good) with black overcooked mushrooms. The chicken with both my wife and my meals was slightly burnt. I actually said it tasted more like a hungry horse meal. Finally we had to wait over 20 minutes to pay our bill as the offer of 25% off did not seem to be accepted by your till. This also happened on a previous visit but was addressed within 6 or 7 minutes."

"This place is great! The harvester in my own area (Rugby) isnt very good and people tend to avoid the place so it was a good suprise going to the one in Paignton. Got served by a lovely guy called Stefan who's positivity seemed to change the atmosphere in the whole place, absolute joy to see someone keep their calm and bring humour to what is usually a stressful job. Food was good too, came out quick and was tasty. Will definitely return next time I come to Paignton"

"Not been here for a few months and understand why we stopped going. Breakfast was overdone, they laced the mushrooms and tomato with lots of pepper, unlimited toast has gone and now £1 extra per toast, paid for unlimited tea and had to go up to bar to get it replaced due to staff was over run. The place is starting to look tired, chairs are starting to fall apart and the outside is looking a mess. Looks like we won't be going back im afraid to say where we used to be a regular last year."

"After a bit of trouble, when one of the wheels on the wheelchair broke, a kind man named John came to our aid. He was a true hero and I am incredibly grateful to him for helping us get D back home safely. While at home, D mentioned that he wanted to go out for fish and chips. He suggested Harvester, recalling that he used to visit there every Wednesday. Although he couldn’t quite remember the name, he did remember the location. I was perfectly fine with going to Harvester, so I called Star Cabs, which I had found while on my way to Hornchurch. I had suggested taking a cab days in advance. The cab drivers were courteous and helpful, and upon our arrival at Harvester, we were warmly greeted and seated by the lovely Sean. Since I couldn’t get in touch with Star Cabs for our return trip, Sean kindly offered to call them for us. Now, as for the Harvester itself – what a wonderful and clean establishment! The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. D shared with the cab driver that he used to come here every Wednesday after his wife passed away, reminiscing about how the waitresses all knew him, but he assumed they wouldn’t be around anymore. How wrong he was! Karen, an absolutely lovely lady who was helpful, accommodating, and very professional, approached us and said, “You used to come here every Wednesday, and just last week we were talking about you, although I couldn’t remember your name.” She was genuinely thrilled to see D and gave him a hug, which really made his day. Our meals were fantastic; we ordered from the main menu. D had the gammon steak with chips and all the trimmings, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I had the spare ribs, and they were simply amazing – I even needed a doggy bag for leftovers! Kudos to the entire team, both front and back of house – thank you for a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back! I’ll try to return before Christmas, though living in Surrey means it's quite a trek."

"Our dining experience at this restaurant was not great. The place was cold when we arrived, and we had to wait a long time for our starters. My nachos were cold and the tortillas were all broken. We had to ask for our drinks as they had not been brought to us, and when they finally arrived, the server brought the wrong order. The main dishes were decent, but overall, it was not a pleasant dining experience."

"Popped in on Friday on our way back from the station and we had a lovely time!! Both of your manageress' are fantastic and so so welcoming! "I visited this restaurant twice in a week because my first experience was wonderful. However, my second visit was quite the opposite—it was extremely loud, making it difficult to have a conversation at our table. I understand that there were many children due to the school holidays, but even the adults were noisy, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable and restless. No staff members seemed to address the loud families, and while the employees might have felt familiar with the situation, the manager definitely should have intervened. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be returning, as I found this experience very disappointing."

"we went on a Sunday for a fast meal as we were busy all day, so we could be one and out for a fast meal. it took some time until the meal arrived. both meals were not properly cooked. the waitress was new and fought (not a problem normally) and did not check whether our meal was in order, what I thought was one of the first things to be taught. we heard the kitchen had to fight. we had a problem to win the attention of everyone and had to wait until the end of the meal when we were willing to say something about the quality of the meal. the person responsible, due to the difficulties, drew a fee from the bill, but I would rather have had a good quality meal and experience. because of the delays we were too late for a date."

"If you need WIFI stay close to the windows (Streetside . It is a real Britisch Pub for Bangor student. There is a lot to do for them! Quiz night on sunday (loud music and no way you can have any conversation of any meaning. , a fake Christmas a month before X mas. Pizza and one drink for £5, witch is very cheap and looks very well! Then you have, loots of tea, beer and other drinks, like any other pub. It is a good atmosphere, none of the tabels are the same, their many different chairs, some are litte broken, but that doesn't matter. Even if it is quit, it is a warm place to stay. They serving their food on marble plates, like the ones you can see in the Flintstones : It is a shame we could eat there: except of the chips, everything is made with gluten and dairy: pasta, pizza, burgers."

"I have been to the Trentham Lakes Restaurant several times, and been satisfied with the service and food at those times. Last night Tuesday 5th March seems to have been a mixed bag. On arrival I waited at the reception desk several minutes before one of the servers approached. She could not find my name on the bookings on the computer and suggested I may have booked at the other Restaurant in Trentham. A second server took over then found my reservation took me to my table, where my two guests were already sitting having arrived earlier. The server dealing with our table was great. Very polite and helpful. The food was good as usual but the baked potatoes dish we all ordered was not available after we placed the order. So we had to substitute baked potatoes for Fries Mashed potatoes. (Note this was 7 p.m. in the evening, not the end of the night). The salad bar seemed sparser than usual with no sweetcorn. Otherwise the food was tasty our dedicated server was good."
