"I expected this place to be a typically poncey, pretentious South Manchester establishment but it wasn't at all if you can see past the avocados, brioche, gluten free and vegan offerings. When I was a lad, none of those things had been invented (with the possible exception of avocados, I think they've been around a while). The food was great though, the service was super friendly and the milkshake was out of this world. Don’t tell anyone I said this, but it's better than McDonald's milkshake."

"We visited this bustling café for breakfast on a Sunday morning at 9am and were seated promptly. By the time we left, there was a line stretching halfway down the street with eager customers waiting. We enjoyed the pancake stack with biscoff, though we found it a bit dry without the additional yogurt. The granola with fresh fruit was a delightful choice as well. The service was pleasant and friendly, and we appreciated the various vegan options on the menu. In contrast, a previous visit for coffee and cake two days prior was a disappointment with slow and unfriendly service, bitter coffee, and overly loud music. However, after speaking to a local, we decided to give the café a second chance and were glad we did."

"I have visited this restaurant a few times for breakfast with my Mum, which is always enjoyable. When my friend mentioned they offer Bottomless Brunch, the four of us decided to give it a try. The food was delicious, the full English breakfast was perfect and I particularly enjoyed the pancake stack. The dessert board had some hit and miss cakes, but they were all vegan which was cool. My only suggestion for Gratitude Cafe would be to review their cocktail menu, as they were quite strong. We asked for something weaker after two drinks, and they kindly made us pornstar martinis which were more to our liking. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the food is always tasty. I have also tried their amazing milkshakes and enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea there. Gratitude Cafe is fantastic and I will always be happy to dine there."

"This is a sweet little cafe with friendly staff and a decent menu. But it’s not cheap and my breakfast was absolutely disgusting! Everything was microwaved, so floppy and soggy, and the scrambled tofu was watery and repulsive. My mum’s muffin looked a bit better, but really could be doing better."

"we waited for an hour for our food, and people who came after us were served before us. When I asked why we had overlooked the waitress, I rushed to drink. She then finally served our meal with such shaking hands that they thought I was an oger. we added another waitress for managernames. she refused to tell us about data protection! not a happy Christmas dinner. I was very upset. so disappointing especially when we had our high-time reception there. I will never go back"

"They’re open from 9 4 everyday of the week and have lots of vegan breakfast and lunch options. Breakfast roll with one or more of the following toppings was good hash brown, tattie scone, mushrooms, tomato and avocado Has various plant based milks forms your coffees and teas Reasonably priced not too cheap nor too expensive"

"Nice enough vegan breakfast with plenty of food but why they think they can justify an extra 30p for about 20ml of oat milk is beyond me that works out about £15 per litre. Staff said not much demand for it (not surprised at that price) so they don't get to use full bottle but it lasts a few days and this is profiteering. I know lots of others overcharge for nondairy milks but they shouldn't"

"We went there twice during our Bank Holiday weekend in Penzance. Pleased to see so many options for vegans like me. My Vietnamese noodle salad was OK, but I quickly realised they had forgotten the tofu (which would have made it very expensive!! They promptly brought a bowl of cold, diced tofu (and did the same for the nearby table maybe the person in the kitchen hadn't been told about all the ingredients? Anyway it was a bit bland but filling. My ginger smoothie was too strong for me, I had to add water to it! My partner enjoyed his halloumi sandwich. We decided to come back 2 days later to try other items on the menu this time I absolutely LOVED my vegan sandwich! It had vegan feta instead of halloumi, and the chili jam was incredible. We also found the soup of the day (dahl really yummy. We ended up staying for 2 hours as it was so rainy outside. We had incredible desserts, both vegan: banana bread with chocolate spread, and lemon, mint and elderflower cake. We also had herbal tea. All in all it is a cosy place, although it is a victim of its success: very busy, which meant that we had to wait quite a long time for service. You also have to walk through the kitchen to go to a small toilet. Not ideal, but I can see that they are planning to update this! It is a bit on the pricey side, but worth it if you're looking for fresh veggie/vegan options."

"Very disappointing. Had coffee walnut cake. Very dry and over baked. Coffee served just warm., like mine hot. Staff eating food behind the counter then serving people. No hand washing! You get given a menu when you walk in and told to find a table staff not friendly. Overpriced for service quality."

"beautiful little caffe a little to the side, away from all busy people. the staff is very nice and friendly eating is good, chicken salad was good. the complete Scottish breakfast. I mean the pictures, so much meat, I don't think I've ever got a teller with so many processed meat on it, meat sweat at the end. If you're looking for a full-fledged scottish, that's your place."

"We came for a birthday brunch. I believe its a family run cafe with an authentic French/Italian vibe. I felt very relaxed here. The staff are super friendly and the food was lovely, I went for a simple breakfast sandwich which hit the spot. (bonus points to them for getting my well done egg just right . I'd love to come back and I'd highly recommend if you're in the area."

"I have visited this restaurant before and loved it. This time, I went with friends for breakfast. The staff was lovely and the food was also delicious. However, when it came time to pay, we all wanted to pay individually and none of us wanted to pay the service charge, which is apparently discretionary. The first two of us paid for our individual food, but the third payment included the total bill, including the service charge. Even though we expressed that we did not want to pay the service charge, we were told it couldn't be removed at that stage and should have been mentioned at the beginning of the payment process. It was a bit confusing to us why it couldn't be removed, but we ended up paying it anyway. In the end, we each individually reimbursed our friend who had paid the total service charge for all of us."

"Decided to come here for breakfast on a Saturday. It wasn't too busy so we were able to get a table. There was only 2 members of staff on the front of house. They came over and took our drinks order which took a good 5+ minutes to get a cup of tea and some water. We then ordered some food which arrived quite timely and was tasty. There wasn't any napkins available so we had go ask for some of them. I also went to the toilet whilst I was here and the toilet was not great at all. It really smelled and was quite filthy, especially the radiator. It did not feel very sanitary at all and only 1 was working and the other was out of order. I would come back and try their cocktails in the evening as I've heard good things about this. The food was ok we had a pleasant time"

"absolute love come here every weekend for brunch, eating is always amazing, the personal are always so friendly, helpful they know the menu well, what is great if they don't know what they want. highly recommend the Chinoa butter, as well as the cakes and fresh juices. but everything I tried was delicious. it is worth coming to the 2.5 km to foot from home on a Saturday many other caffes and sitting in the sun and enjoying great eating here."

"This cute cafe offers the best vegan cakes in Bristol! Everyday they have new cakes, pastries and savoury options on offer which are all amazing! They also have a unique drinks menu with seasonal drinks such as Biscoff hot chocolate to strawberry matcha. I have ordered a few of their celebration cakes now and they are the best vegan cakes I’ve ever had. My non vegan family also loved them! The only issue I’ve had with this cafe is the prices and sizes of their cakes. They are so expensive and they give you tiny slices! Also there’s little to no indoor seating. EDIT: They now have a new menu which offers sandwiches, salads and blueberry waffles. I tried the blueberry waffles and they were amazing! Updated from previous review on 2022 05 26"

"Always choose to come here for a treat. Upon all my visits I've never experienced a poor service. A friendly, family run business who make the time and effort to get to know you and make you feel special. The food is amazing, and yes sometimes it gets busy but that just proves it's an outstanding place to go! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"Absolutely outstanding! Could not recommend enough. Myself and partner got Soaked in the Rain this afternoon and we were able to move our reservation forward. The greeting was lovely, we were seated quickly and almost immediately served hot tea to warm us up. Staff were absolutely out of this world. Afternoon tea was out of this world. Will he back ???? thank you for your hospitality. Made our day. ????"

"I had an incredible olive, red pepper, and tomato linguine with rocket at this restaurant. It can also be made vegan without the parmesan. The dish was so flavorful and delicious, and the sea view from the restaurant was magnificent. This review was last updated on May 19, 2021."

"Free parking, but limited spaces available. The restaurant space is very outdated and I had an expensive cup of coffee with the worst tea I have ever had in order to check the temperature of the machine. Luckily, we were able to discreetly get rid of the drink without anyone noticing. I had a coffee that was mediocre at best, tasting like a bad cleaning solution. However, adding three sugars helped improve the taste slightly. The soft drinks were overpriced, but the crowd seemed to enjoy them. The £3.50 jumbo sausage and burger was disappointing, with a thin patty that tasted generic. More generous portions of chips would have been appreciated. I give this restaurant 3 stars mainly because I enjoyed watching the planes come and go. The atmosphere was lively, but it was disappointing to see employees openly smoking near the entrance. I won't be returning as there are better options nearby. This review reflects our honest opinion."
