"The Maltings is a wonderful dining destination. We've visited several times with our son and grandson, and each meal has been delightful. The ambiance is lovely, impeccably clean, and the staff is exceptional—always friendly, helpful, and welcoming, with a willingness to assist that never falters. There’s an outdoor play area for the kids, as well as an indoor play space. Overall, it's a fantastic place to eat."

"My wife and I enjoyed a terrific Sunday lunch at the Royal Oak. The beef was very tasty and the vegetables were very well cooked. Slightly Al dente which I prefer. Lovely traditional pub/restaurant and all at a very reasonable price given all the economic pressures these places have to absorb these days. We certainly will be going again."

"The Pinot grigio was very light and fruity, and very delicious. The Starters were lovely, vert tasty, and different from other starters that are offered at most pubs. The mains were very disappointing, the liver was tough, and the fish pie had two prawns and three small pieces of fish, and the mass potato was instant potato and runny. Above our table was a speaker blaring out loud music, and I couldn't hear what my friend was saying. Price per person: £70–80 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 1"

"We’ve been to The Travelling Man a few times over the years and have normally had a good experience. We arrived to be told there’d be a delay as they had a booking of 30 due so the main dining room would be full. We were told a 20min wait but it was only 5 or 10 mins before we were seated in the small room. Maybes due to the arrival of the group but we were served our main meals, piping hot within minutes. We didn’t feel rushed at all and the staff were great. The meals (roast of the day) was lovely, enough to make you full. We would prefer to have had a gravy boat as opposed to the meals being served with gravy all ready on and would be nice to have had beer mats too."

"We just had lunch for my partner's birthday... variety of dishes between two adults and three children, all of which were very nice. The vietnamese wings and wild boar pasta being highlights. Would happily come again for this at the prices they charge. Service was good too and seating arrangement quite spacious. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3"

"Meal Type: Breakfast Price Range per Person: £10–£20 Food Rating: 5/5 Service Rating: 5/5 Atmosphere Rating: 5/5 Recommended Dish: English Breakfast I had a fantastic experience dining here for breakfast! The food was exceptional, earning a solid 5 out of 5. The English Breakfast I ordered was particularly noteworthy—delicious, hearty, and fulfilling. The service was equally impressive, with attentive and friendly staff who made the meal even more enjoyable. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and inviting, perfectly complementing my breakfast experience. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a great start to your day! "

"Waited ages to be served, when we were we had a nice girl who took our order and food was out pretty quick. But the food was absolutely disgusting burger was burnt and everything was cold nothing came out warm and nothing seemed to be fresh. For the price I expected more. We went in the evening and it was really quiet not a lot of people but it still took over 20 mins for someone to come over take our plates for us to ask for the bill. Think you’d get better food at anywhere else, over priced for what ur given. Won’t be going again!"

"The restaurant is dog-friendly and offers good quality food with generous portions typical of Northern cuisine. There is a wide selection of menu options, along with a few specials, which made it hard to decide what to order. The service was friendly without being intrusive, making it a great place to catch up with family and friends. It was quiet during our visit on Thursday at 6:30 PM, and not overly busy. The price per person ranged from £20 to £30. Overall, I would rate the food a 4, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 4."
"Sat outside as dogs not allowed inside. Very difficult to get out when holding a couple of drinks as the door opens inwards and nowhere really to rest a drink. Luckily a very friendly waitress helped out. Person serving behind the bar was very unfriendly and unwelcoming. Tables benches outside had leaves, bird poo and puddles on them suppose it is November! Lovely pub and atmosphere inside, just a shame no dogs inside not even in bar area."

"During our stay at the Spring River Ebbsfleet Inn, we dined at the pub several times. The atmosphere felt like a cozy, corner pub. There was a wide selection of drinks available. I had delicious meals, including my first Yorkshire pudding, and we shared a heavenly sticky toffee pudding. All the staff were friendly and hardworking. Our waitress, Debs, was exceptional; she was friendly and efficient. She took the time to explain some of the dishes to us Americans and frequently checked in on us despite the busy dining room."

"Visited here last Friday as a group of seven and on arrival was made welcome by the waitress who showed us to our table. We all had different dishes and they were very nice, decent portions and all came out together. I must say that my main of the brisket was a bad choice on my part as I prefer the meat to be shredded (It did state it wasn’t shredded on the menu)but I tried it and it was tasty but not tender enough. The rest of our party enjoyed theirs especially the steak dish. Must say we had a long wait between the starters and mains, nearly a hour but the manager bought us a round of drinks as an apology because the place was really busy. Good job we hadn’t planned to go elsewhere after. The staff were friendly and polite and the place had a good atmosphere and decent choice of drinks. We all said we would return but I would opt for a different main meal."

"Called in on a day out in Truro. We were searching for somewhere to eat, and quite by luck we came across Chorleys. We looked at the menu outside, and were drawn in by that and the amazing aromas wafting out. Three of us each had a different burger, and shared some peri peri fries, which had a lovely kick to them, and the crispiest onion rings we’ve ever tasted. The food was of the highest quality, and the gentleman serving us was extremely polite and good at his job. We explained that one of our group had a dairy allergy, which was no problem and the cheese on that persons burger was exchanged for a dairy free alternative. We are visiting Cornwall again in a few weeks, and will travel down to Truro from Bude to eat there again. "I would give this restaurant 0 stars if possible. The online information said it was open and there were no signs outside indicating it was closed. It seems like the positive reviews are fake and written by people from last week. I went in to inquire about hosting a wake there, but the male owner rudely told us to leave because he was on a call. This was very upsetting. I would rate the rooms, service, and location as 1 out of 5."

"We have been using, R36 a lot through lockdown. It’s fantastic, we love it and the kids too. New menus choice, although live earlier you planned is an absolute winner.?? Always really tasty and warm and always ready at time specified. Great combination with sister company le petit cafe too. Long overdue review sorry!"
"Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and enjoyable food: I visited this restaurant for the first time in over a year, and I was impressed by its complete renovation—it looks fantastic! The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. They quickly seated us and cleared the table, even though they were busy. We didn’t have to wait long for our dinner. I ordered the fish and chips, which were delicious, just like I remembered from previous visits. While I didn't order it, the sirloin steak did seem a bit on the smaller side. Overall, it's a wonderful place for a casual dinner at a reasonable price."
"My wife and I wanted to get away from Bridport to avoid the horrendously noisy Jurassic fields music festival which has now moved even closer to my bungalow. We chose the Mitre inn in Sandford Orcas, a tiny village a couple of miles north of Sherborne. It was fairly easy to find but down single track roads with passing places. Ample parking at the side of the inn. They have a restaurant along with 2 guest rooms on the first floor and a Sheppards hut in the garden. Our room was very reasonable and included breakfast. The room was comfortable and spacious with a small settee, wardrobe, chair and 2 bedside cabinets. The bathroom was large, with a shower cubicle, basin and loo. Tea coffee making facilities are provided. Breakfast was cereal fruit and yoghurt plus the usual fare of eggs cooked anyway you liked, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomato, toast and orange juice, tea and coffee. Evening meals were available, prior booking is recommended. We had the battered cod, chips and peas on the first night which was the best I had in a long time. My wife had an amazing desert of Chocolate Brownie sundae and I had Lemon cheesecake which was lovely too. Next night we had Sausage and onion baguette and a brie and cranberry baguette followed by a summer fruits crumble. All were very reasonably priced and delicious. On the 3rd night we were offered a roast dinner for guests of all 3 rooms which was very kind as normally they close after the Sunday lunch servings. The owner, Steve, the previous owners, Cheryl and Allen who still help out, Jeff (the chef) and the young lady waitresses were all so friendly and really helpful. It was so peaceful and relaxing there with only an occasional passing car. Highly recommended to stay or just go for a great meal."

"Very upset. Two weeks after having a pre-booked lunch here I receive a £100 parking fine for parking in the pub car park. No doubt there are signs telling you to do something or other to avoid this but I was intent on getting in in time for the booking. I feel that, at the very least, the person booking us in should have checked whether we had come by car but I felt at the time that they were a little offhand. Very unlikely to return. Service: 1"
