"I went to Albert’s castlefield yesterday, ordered the chicken. It came out incredibly dry and my friend ordered chips which weren’t cooked and were anaemic. No one came to our table to ask how the food was, only when we’d finished. I didn’t eat any of the chicken, I put some on my friends plate for her to try and she agreed. We spoke to a waitress at the end and she said ‘so sorry about that, is there anything you would like instead’ I said yes please il just have a dessert, sticky toffee pudding which was actually nice. When the bill came they’d put all the food on! I ended up speaking to what I’m guessing was the manager who said, I didn’t tell anyone at the time this was because no one came to the table to ask! she also stated I’d eaten my chicken, which me and my friend both stated to her I ate none of it! I put it on my friends plate for her to try which was evident on her plate. Eventually the manager took the dessert off the bill. I’ve been before and it’s never been like this such a shame. I was here few weeks ago and it was lovely. Completely disappointing"

"The two employees who were present, Gemma and Alicia, were nice and friendly. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent; everything arrived quickly. However, there was another woman who came out from the back and seemed to be intimidating one of the staff members while she was talking to them. From what I could see, she appeared to be quite condescending."

"Very disappointed overall. As some of the family had previously visited several months before and had a nice meal. Hence the return. Our starters arrived all rather mediocre and waitress tipped one of the starters over sauce went everywhere accidents happen no big deal got...some paper off waitress and I cleared up told her there was lots of sauce on the floor. She just said ill clear it even uour gone. The mains came mine wax a steak which was as thick as a slice of bacon . Another person had a burger it was over cooked bun was black. Two people had BBQ ribs and asked for the BBQ sauce as none on them. The same waitress told them there was a bottle of hienz sauce they could use on the table!! To sides of prawns were ordered but we only got one lot when asked for the other portion the waitress said abruptly they were on the same plate!! Another group member had beef fajitas that were so tough he couldn't chew the meat. Another waitress asked how meal was I told her she said she would speak to Chef and then returned and said he was to busy at the moment. We got bill they did refund for the fajitas but the waitress who served us before came to collect money and was quite rude . I won't return there's so many nice places I can go in town. This would be my last choice"

"We popped in on a Sunday after some shopping. Coffee shops in the area were packed, no tables busy but we needed a respite after some shopping with our 11 month old baby. We stood at the door waiting to be seated which felt like an eternity. When we got in with our baby who was sleeping in the pram we were told that there was nowhere to pop the pram while he was sleeping but he could be popped in a highchair no problem at all. No checking how old he was etc (he was under his rain over not visible) what if I needed to breastfeed once he woke up? Or if he was a newborn the parents just wanted a bite to eat? There was adequate space for a pushchair, fancy turning away a family with a sleeping child. While I completely understand that you don’t wish to place a child next to friends couples dining out it’s a little unfair to turn away people on the basis of what are your restaurant regulations or whatever you want to call it do what’s morally right surely? Anyway the host was lucky our child decided to wake up at that moment because we were about to walk away considering the rather unwelcome greeting. We were hungry. Once we were seated it was all great from there. They managed to get a £50 lunch out of us! Myself my partner had black blue burgers which were cooked lovely came out within 10 mins of ordering. Our waitress was really lovely very friendly toward us smiley at our baby. Our baby had fish goujons with veggies fruit chocolate pot for dessert. He thoroughly enjoyed it. The highchair was a bit low for such a small baby so would be better if they got some with trays to avoid mess help out baby eat be more supported but he was excited either way. The high hairs were definitely more suitable to toddlers as opposed to infants. Generally a friendly service once we were there felt full satisfied so thank you to the lovely waitress for changing our experience. Just a quick fyi to the restaurant in general not all babies are loud cry. If your younger clientele aren’t happy with children in the middle of the day then maybe they shouldn’t be popping into a family restaurant?"

"Interesting visit. Firstly, we experienced no problems due to Coronavirus or the Eat out to help out . No difficulties with their safety processes, or having to wait for food. All the front of house staff were great, attentive and friendly. The food...it was VERY hit miss...the ribs, the chicken (breast, wings Southern Fried) was lovely. The fries were gross, like little splinters of balsa wood. We always have a side of fries with any meal, and the side of fries tonight was untouched, along with most of the fries with our respective meals. The steak that came with my 'Ultimate Grill ' was the most God-awful piece of meat I 've ever had put before me!!! They gave me a steak knife that struggled to cut the meat!!! In the main i dont really fully blame the kitchen, obviously they dont source the food, they just cook what they are sent, whether that be cheap and nasty frozen chips, or cheap nasty cuts of rump steak...but...I 'd still like to think that someone in the kitchen should be attempting some kind of quality control over what goes out... Not a completely ruined night, but for £80 spent, i expect better."

"great dinner here tonight. I find sometimes that the service at frankie and benny can generally be met and missed, but tonight I couldn't blame him. we were supervised by a series of servers and all of them were so friendly and polite. great value for money, as we had a good idea about the app. I thought I was only able to use 1 credit card for 2 free starters, but the waitress knew I had ordered a glass prosecco, and recommended that I could use this credit card too. excellent value for money in the children's menu."

"I was called yesterday to say that they couldn’t deliver my food as there was road works and it would take 1hr and was trying to get a refund straight away as that was the only money I had left till today when I got paid. I was told I could get the food but it would be cold and I said no as I am not going to pay for cold food the lady I spoke to said it would take 3 to 5 working days then it changed to 5 to 7 working days and I was not happy with this as I then couldn’t order anything else as had no money left I also asked if I could get my order from another shop but there wasn’t one close enough I also asked to speak to the manager that I couldn’t and she went to call someone to try fix the problem and couldn’t solve it and she said I could call and speak to a manager tomorrow and I did but still couldn’t speak to manager and the guy was rude to me when I was explaining what happened and said well I should budget better and said is that all and that he has better things to do so I said to him that he’s being quiet rude and he said I was rude yesterday to the lady. Totally unacceptable don’t order from here."

"Had to wait for table,which wasn't a problem as knew it was busy due to bank holiday,took our order quickly but unfortunately waited nearly an hour for food to come,no one came for quite a while to ask,a larger group of people arrived approx 15 mins after us and had all of their food before us.When it eventually arrived,mine was delicious but my daughters vegan paella was very salty and she couldn't finish it,cheesecakes were outstanding tho."

"Booked a table on line, which was easy enough. Arrived at the Windmill, the lady logged in to find our booking, which took a little while as the app kept logging her out, and it had ‘the longest ever password’ to log in her words not mine. Took our seats, and ordered our drinks via the app. After about 10 mins, the same lady asked if we were ok, we said we were waiting for drinks, she went back to the bar and retrieved our order and brought our drinks to us. Next round of drinks which again were order via the app arrived promptly. Next we ordered our mains. Medium rare 10oz stake, and a lasagna. Food arrived. Lasagna was very good. Not overpowered with tomato or garlic, very tasty. Hubby’s medium rare stake was overcooked making it a bit dry and lacking taste, but he didn’t want to wait for another to be cooked. Not once did anyone check with us how the meal was. During the meal we ordered another round of drinks, and waited patiently. The lack of drinks made a dry steak even less palatable. We finished the meals (well left half the steak) yet still no drinks. After 25 minutes I went to the bar to cancel the drinks and ask for a refund. After tapping many buttons, hey presto the order was located. There was much confusion over how to do a refund, and at one stage it was suggested that we may have to have cash and the staff member sort it later, but eventually it got sorted as a refund to the card. STILL NO ENQUIRY AS TO HOW THE MEALS WERE!!!!!! As much as I enjoyed the lasagna, I don’t think we will visit again. One member of staff was spending more time having a chat with the locals than checking on things. There were a lot of food orders being collected for delivery, I felt that these were being prioritised above the seated diners. I wish I could say the pub was busy, but it really wasn’t so there was no excuse."

"my friends and I visited the fox, menston on Sunday to celebrate a special birthday and I could not have been happier with all the experience. the team was very accommodating and allowed us to arrive early to decorate the table and put us before we were due, the drinks were nice and the eating was absolutely delicious. our appetizers came out immediately and looked nice, the main courses were good the money worth, I could not believe the amount of food we received and the dessert was perfect. we were served by the meal of laura, which was absolutely beautiful, she was friendly, patient and in the giggles that was brilliant, she made the experience that was much more special. many thanks to the whole team, but especially to laura, to make the day so unforgettable."

"Very disappointed. Ate there yesterday, staff lovely I ordered potato skins with pulled pork. One was a mouthful of chewy fat, the others forkful of meat. The chips were the smallest portion I ever had a portion and none of the food was overly hot. I ordered a tonic water which tasted like bitter soda. of our party could not eat their fajitas because they were so spicy they had to eat ice cubes. Bill came to for food that was disappointing. for a coke is outrageous. Food far too expensive simply ripping off public. Cocktails"

"I absolutely loved the food at this restaurant. The theme of the place was great and the food was absolutely amazing. I really appreciated the ordering system for customizing my burger - I could choose all 5 toppings to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. The options included hash browns, fried egg, fries, mushrooms, fried onions, and various sauces. I would definitely recommend trying this out. Plus, they currently have a 50% off promotion for the next few days, which is a great deal!"

This restaurant is part of the Cams Cuisine group, which operates eight pubs and restaurants in the Cambridge area. Their menus are clearly labeled with gluten-free options, and the staff are attentive to allergen concerns. The gluten-free menu offers a variety of dishes including fish, chicken, and steak, with a few vegetarian/vegan options available as well. They also have a selection of gluten-free desserts such as Eaton Mess, burnt cream, brownies, and a delicious sticky toffee pudding. I highly recommend reserving a table upstairs for a great view of King's Parade, and also checking out their other sister pubs!"

"My partner thoroughly enjoyed her meal, consisting of a bacon cheeseburger and sweet potato fries, and now considers it her favorite restaurant. Unfortunately, my experience with the truffle mushroom burger and smash fries was a bit different. While I did enjoy the fries, the burger caused some serious digestive issues. I'm not sure if it was the burger or the fries, but the aftermath was incredibly intense. It felt like I had ingested a powerful laxative. I have never experienced such a violent reaction in my lower half before. It was a messy and unpleasant experience, reminiscent of both Niagara Falls and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory combined. On the bright side, if I ever find myself constipated, I now know what to order. It took me two days to fully recover from the havoc that meal wreaked on my digestive system."

"The ‘big bagel’ was nice enough as were the chips. Sweet friendly waitress. Please do not order the nachos-they are flavourless and in my opinion the tortilla chips a little stale. Was a little hard work trying to get someone’s attention for the bill. I think they could do with one more member of staff to keep things running more smoothly eg clearing tables, wiping down seats and supplying the bill more promptly. I voiced my opinion at the time re the nachos but was met with a vacant stare and a ‘no ones ever complained about them before ‘. They bizarrely offered to take 10% off the cost of the nachos. A more commercially savvy response would have been ‘so sorry you didn’t like the nachos Ill take them off the bill as you’ve barely touched them. Hope to see you again next time’ There’s lots of competition in the area who in my opinion offer waaay better service. I believe the owner was behind the counter at the time who took no ownership of the situation-that was a shame but hey ho that’s why some businesses succeed and others don’t stand the test of time."

"The wrap itself was soft on top and generously topped with melted cheese, but beneath it was rock hard—not crispy, but tough, as if it had been microwaved first. That part was inedible. The saving grace came from the pots of salsa, sour cream, and guacamole, which added flavor to the meal; otherwise, it would have been a 2 out of 10. Even the tortilla chips were the cheapest available. The side of chips was quite nice, though. My friend's meal included half ribs and chicken wings, but they initially messed up the order and had to send back the first batch. She said it was just okay, but considering the price, the quality of the meat was lacking. I tried a wing and found it overcooked and somewhat tough, with the piri piri sauce being too spicy—buffalo sauce would have been a better fit. The whole experience could have been significantly improved with a bit more care, better ingredients, or a chef who was either more attentive or had a better grasp of Mexican cuisine. Having worked in catering for much of my career, I'm a bit of a tough critic, and honestly, I wouldn't choose to eat here again. On a positive note, the server was very pleasant and professional. Overall, there is definitely room for improvement!"

"We have just returned from lunch at the Woodside. We have been here a few times over the years on and off but we haven't been recently and I can't praise the place enough. The staff were attentive and friendly. We were sat on a nice table by some patio doors and didn't feel crammed in like some places. Myself and my husband had a sharing platter to start which was really good. I then had the Korean chicken skewers with triple cooked chips and the most delicious slaw/salsa I've ever had. Usually when you get chicken skewers you get pieces of chicken breast but this skewer had three delicious whole chicken thighs. The chips were hot and tasty. My husband had the steak and Merlot pie which was a proper pie (not a stew with a lid on). He really enjoyed his meal also. It wasn't cheap but I really don't mind paying if the food is good, and it was. Will be returning."

"We used to frequent this pub often in the past, but heard that it had changed ownership, so we decided to meet our friends here. We were excited to catch up with friends we hadn't seen in a while. However, when we arrived, my husband inquired about their ale selection and was informed they only had Harveys with no other options. The server who brought our drinks had dirty fingernails, which was off-putting. When it came time to order food, one of our friends asked about a Christmas menu and was told it needed to be pre-ordered, as stated on their website. Despite our frequent visits in the past, we had not checked the website. The food was tasty, but the service was lacking. We had to request drinks and were not asked about our meals once they arrived. At 9:40, a lady approached us with the bill and informed us they were closing soon. When we asked for another drink, we were denied. My husband requested to remove the service charge, which caused some tension with the lady taking payment. She questioned why he wouldn't pay it, stating that everyone charges it, which we found rude. Overall, the poor service has discouraged us from returning or recommending the pub to others, despite the delicious food. It's disappointing, as we had hoped the new management would focus on attracting and retaining customers."
