"I eat out very regularly, and I have to say that todays experience in Pizza Express Victoria Sq was absolutely terrible! It was my first time trying Pizza Express (like I told, I assume was a manager on duty today) and it will most definitely be my last! My sons my niece were also adamant that they wouldn’t be back either. How disappointing. Firstly we sat for a lifetime watching staff walk past us while we waited for our order to be taken. Then the drinks we asked for were not brought. Then one pizza arrived on its own, they forgot our starters, and said kid had the pizza eaten by the time everyone else’s arrived in dribs and drabs. We were one pizza short and we had to go ask for that and our starters, which took donkeys to be sorted too) they are called starters for a reason! Staff were standing about talking to each-other and not really keeping an eye on tables or customers. Then there seems to be no notion of what anyon needs to be doing and what plates are delivered to tables one at a time! So strange. And long waits between each. That’s not how anyone wants to eat when out with family.. Then they forgot to bring the deserts, and by that stage I had had enough. I asked for them to be taken off my bill. Girl came to the table and not even an apology after I told communicated to a staff member quite nicely that I thought our conversation experience had been really awful. Plenty of empty tables too, so not to say that they were at capacity, plus they had plenty of staff on. The pizza I got was rotten too, and all watery on the top. Only ate it because I was absolutely starving after the wait. I just can’t believe how awful the service was. Won’t ever be back."

"we came here as a four-headed family to the birthday of my stepsons. it was a very disappointing experience about what should have been a special evening. we ran back a few minutes, so I tried to call the restaurant to inform the employees that our table. was not given away, but after trying the phone was never answered. at the arrival we then saw that our table of a group was given away before us and was accompanied by the toilets to a really cozy sitting on the back. it all went down from here. we were completely forgotten. olives applied for and subsequently requested twice more were finally delivered after the stained plates were not deleted. table water supplied, but no glasses. cakes brought out, but no plates or cutlery. I need to talk to the manager twice. although friendly, he seemed too busy to care and service not improved. a very friendly older waiter saw my problems and came to our rettung thank you and one of the many waiting staff who served us - a young man - was very polite and friendly and he also helped save our catastrophic night. the food was also excellent thanks to the kitchen thank you. but because of terrible service and table, all in all not good. we are not coming back. come with pizza express sevenoaks, you can make it better."

"Let me tell you about my experience here so I turn up with no booking and get turned away which was fair however, I then go into their app (had a 45 minute wait but I didn’t mind since I am pregnant and was craving it) and made a booking only for one server to call me a liar because he said he stopped new bookings online. He also said that the kitchen was closed only for a lady (assuming the manager) to confirm that I indeed did make a booking and invited me and my party to sit. We were given menus and after literally 1 minute the rude server came to us asking us what we wanted. When we stated we hardly had a chance to look at the menu he sarcastically said take your time the kitchen is closing in 10 minutes. After browsing the menu the manager came to take our order. When the starter (dough balls) arrived they were not cooked correctly, remained the size of tiny pebbles and were blatantly burnt from the outside. I took one look and asked the server if they were being serious with the starter. He didn’t even say anything and took it back to correct the mistake. The second batch came and although it was not up to the normal standards of pizza express I accepted it as it was an improvement and I was hungry. We later received our mains and much later into the meal another table turns up. I was confused as when we first sat down we were told the kitchen would close in 10 minutes so why is it after almost an hour the kitchen is still open for other tables ? I understand that it might have been a long day for the servers however to be called a liar and to be lied to is so unprofessional. So disappointed at the way I was treated"

"English pizza chain celebrating 60-years of operations. Cash, credit card and probably e-wallet payments accepted. Indoor seating in a casual, relaxed environment. Pizzas, pasta, salads, appetizers. The atmosphere at this location is pleasant. Small tables and chairs by and large, groups larger than 4-6 will have trouble here without some rearranging of the furniture. Pizzas are mid-range in quality. Family bundle with two large Classic pizzas two sides, and an order of dough balls saves you a few pounds if you're ordering for a family. Pizza crust is pretty good but could be a bit crisper. Good amount of sauce. Toppings are a bit on the scant side. Pepperoni pizzas barely have 3 pepperonis on each slice. The La Reien is good but again, toppings are very scant for the price. Dough balls are tasty and served with a trio of sauces. Fried halloumi is tasty enough (but I haven't tried it elsewhere for comparison sake). Small salad is also fine. Service was a bit disorganized but friendly. I'd definitely rate it higher than Papa John's but a close call with Pizza hut, your other two options in this immediate area. "this is a beautiful restaurant, rather similar to a raised French brasserie. there is a sitting area outside. there is a separate vegetarian/vegan menu and I ordered from it. I loved eating that I had. it was easy, but delicious. for the starter I had a pea and nice suppe, then for a main course I had the baked miso aubergine. as dessert I ordered the mandel panna cotta. the service was good, although our waiter was sometimes somewhat abrupt. all the others were very friendly. this place changes their menu depending on the season, so hopefully they will also contain some new vegan options in the future. pricely, it was not too bad, but it is the kind of place where she would probably go for a contract."

"I’ve visited Issho many times before and it’s always somewhere I take friends who are visiting from out of town. We have always really enjoyed the food and ambience there. It was a special occasion tonight so my fiancé and I attended just the two of us. Being tapas style dining we are used to them bringing things out as and when it’s ready- but the wait time between all the dishes was so so so long and it was literally one dish coming at a time so we never ate a single one together. We waited a while for all the food and our drinks came even after the food did. I’m also 9 months pregnant at the moment and asked for some water while we waited which never came- we had to ask again for it. This happened with one or two things we had asked for for the table as well. I was still hungry after everything we had ordered had come as by this point we had been seated 2 hours and the food (just 3 small tapas dishes) had all been so spaced out I didn’t feel like I’d really eaten, we decided to stick at it and try and order some more and a dessert atleast- but honestly so long went by without a single person paying attention to our table or even seeing us try to make eye contact that we decided to just go. Even asking for the bill took forever and it honestly seemed like an inconvenience to the server that we needed service/help. Over 2 hours and £100 later for a few small dishes and mocktails. Just a really disappointing experience from a restaurant I have recommended to so many people in the past. The food is always wonderful but it’s hard to enjoy with service so poor like that. I’m never one to complain either, I’ve worked in restaurants myself and always have empathy and understanding during busy periods, but it was very very poor tonight."

"Very disappointed overall. As some of the family had previously visited several months before and had a nice meal. Hence the return. Our starters arrived all rather mediocre and waitress tipped one of the starters over sauce went everywhere accidents happen no big deal got...some paper off waitress and I cleared up told her there was lots of sauce on the floor. She just said ill clear it even uour gone. The mains came mine wax a steak which was as thick as a slice of bacon . Another person had a burger it was over cooked bun was black. Two people had BBQ ribs and asked for the BBQ sauce as none on them. The same waitress told them there was a bottle of hienz sauce they could use on the table!! To sides of prawns were ordered but we only got one lot when asked for the other portion the waitress said abruptly they were on the same plate!! Another group member had beef fajitas that were so tough he couldn't chew the meat. Another waitress asked how meal was I told her she said she would speak to Chef and then returned and said he was to busy at the moment. We got bill they did refund for the fajitas but the waitress who served us before came to collect money and was quite rude . I won't return there's so many nice places I can go in town. This would be my last choice"
