"recently visited on a week night for a family dinner. overall, eating was ok (with taking the Aubergine curry). the service was awfully slow and the supervisor/manager had a real job and was not friendly at all. after a first greeting. we were shown on our table and after a certain waiting ordered our drinks with the superior. one of our parties (old ordered a non-alcoholic apple wine, only to be challenged for id. when we explained that as a child with an adult to eat and order a meal that allowed the law that the year old even have an alcoholic apple wine, and that was only one, he claimed we were wrong and that the spatial license does not allow. we wanted to avoid a argument that we accepted, but when leaving we staged the spatial license at the entrance and noticed that no such condition was bound to the license. it is in order when it comes to business policy (maybe this is the case) but the employee member has been quite lied and created an unnecessary embarrassing situation for all of us. the same person then presented a terrible attitude that makes us feel the most unhappy for the rest of the evening. the drinks that were ordered took the minutes to arrive, and the co-worker who brought them to us began to serve other tables after we had brought only half the drinks we ordered and left the rest on the bar. later in the evening we ordered a bottle of wine that was delivered to us unopened, and it took a few minutes for someone else to come and open it for us (sadly it was not a screw bottle of this place was recommended by two family members who participated in this meal, and they were very disappointed about how the dings turned out (as we were all). to finish everything after we tried, but not to tie all the workers to get the bill, we just had to pay at the cash while our tellers were sitting on the table unclear. obviously the superior had no appreciation for it, as he offered the Dessert menu, as we were about to go and had already paid the bill. it showed a complete ignorance of what was going on in his own restaurant. In summary, the personal can do with some retraining ladders/managers that are very much potential in the service front but difficult to do. would not recommend."

"We decided a night away was in order as we wanted to do Christmas shopping without fuss and it's been a long time since we've had a night away. So.. Checkin was fine. We received welcome pack detailing WiFi , checkout etc Then came time to go to our room, this is where the review starts. We were situated on the bottom floor, room or So we go through two security doors and to what feels like the hotels dirty secret as this was a small corridor tucked away at the rear next to a security door that made you jump from inside your room each time someone used it. So once inside the room we are greeted to a very pleasant, clean room with one major issue. Where is the view? Oh there isn't one. Instead we open the curtains to discover a red and black brick walled courtyard of sorts. Now I know a view isn't always a guarantee but I'll get to that So we drop in our bags and leave to do the last of our shopping and enjoy the time away from kids that we have we are back at hotel, back in the room and within mins we've heard security/fire door ft from ours slam shut multiple times. So I ask at reception and they are booked out, no other rooms available. OK Next morning after a not awful but not great night's sleep we leave early. I make a point if saying to front of house staff about door and heat of hotel as it was extremely warm but that's not a big deal. Only to be told that I should have asked for a different room. I did and was told you were booked solid So we paid nearly for a night in Glasgow, we had what my wife described as a dungeon bedroom, with no view and a near by door that would have woke the dead. Would we stay in this hotel again? Sadly no. The room we stayed in should not be used for guests paying ridiculous prices or anyone really I can't describe rest of hotel as we didn't go lurking I absolutely hate leaving a negative review on these things but we were just so disappointed. Hopefully this gets to the right people and it doesn't happen to anyone else Thank you Date of stay was"

"I 've been here a few times. It 's a nice enough pub, with a good range of ales. The staff are friendly enough, and the drinks are decently priced. It 's always quite busy and popular among the locals. But I had a bit of a frustrating experience the other day. Me and a friend of mine were walking my dog. It began to rain so we decided to grab a drink somewhere whilst it settled down. We were near the grapes, so I whipped out my phone and googled whether dogs were allowed in the pub. Online it says a child and dog friendly pub... and that dogs [are] allowed inside . I thought brilliant, me and my mate can grab a quick pint whilst we wait for the rain to stop. We go in the pub. Nobody says a word or bats an eye lid. We buy our drinks and go to sit down. As soon as we sit down, the landlady comes over, and, very politely, says dogs are not allowed in the pub. I have no problem with this. A lot of pubs don 't allow dogs in because they can be noisy, dirty, and some people just don 't like dogs. It 's totally fair enough. But it was frustrating because it meant we then had to stand outside in the rain and the cold. The information online is clearly out of date and needs changing. I just thought I 'd do a review to give other dog walkers a heads up, and make the owners aware that the online information is incorrect. The pub itself though is nice enough though. I 'll definitely go again but next time I 'll have to leave the dog at home."

"Well, all I can say is that I was so disappointed in the whole experience of our Christmas lunch today. We had a booking for 12.15pm.. we arrived on time, drink were ordered and then sadly it went down hill. Our food did not arrive until 1.50pm! The soup was cold (even the butter block was still whole in the bottom of the bowl), the Turkey was good. However the vegetables were so hard, my elderly mum had trouble cutting them so she left them! My 12 ye old daughter ordered the pizza to which she was given half … which seems very odd and ridiculous after a 2 hr wait! Puddings were lovely, but we didn’t wait for the coffees etc Our waitress was lovely but didn’t communicate either with us or her manage to what was going on. Tables around us were complaining about the waiting too. It was almost like they had completely overbooked and over stretched themselves. We (a booking of 5) did complain and we got all our drink deducted off the bill, only to be informed that the chef had had a medical emergency and had been take to hospital! Obviously, had this been communicated to all the waiting customers the outcome may have been very different and we would have had an understanding and empathy- but this wasn’t! Overall, I was so disappointed not only on the service, but how it left my parents feeling as Christmas dinner was their treat, in a restaurant they use regularly as I have travelled up from Dorset. I would not be able to recommend this restaurant or the festive menu at £32.95 per head. But I wish the staff member a speedy recovery."
