"Very difficult to propose improvements. We visited every day for 4 days at different times. The employees were very good in communication, professionalism and social interaction. Loved the outdoor seats, the weather helped, My friend was really impressed that some, perhaps not all, staff knew how to pour a pink gin instead of just a bottle. We decided to visit Newcastle on our next trip. There are some very good pubs in Newcastle that we wouldn't think twice about going in, but sometimes there's a pub you're gelling with, here's a ."

Happy time tonight at Victoria Comet! Wild boar and chorizo cake were lush and my wife's chicken salad sandwich was enormous. The beers were perfect and the bar staff was fantastic. Very recommended! View menu

Immersed for a meal and much needed drink. Much on pint of Pale Ale and a Nicholson's burger. That's right. Bex looked after us. Over the road from the train station. Ideally located. Will visit again.... soon.

PRICE!!! GREAT staff, warm and friendly, but... £17 for two double rums and pop might explain why this was the quietest pub we visited all day (we were out around the central station area from Sunday 13:00 til 22:00). Price matters... especially these days. We felt conned. Not in a rush to return and be ripped off.

Big pub opposite the main railway station! Food was great! I had the Toad In The Hole and my wife had the Hiumi Fries with Chicken Strips. There was also a wide selection of beers and the friendly staff made it an excellent stop! Happy days! Also as a tip, log in to Nicholson's pubs and you get 25% of your first visit.... View menu

Bought a couple of pints before Newcastle match at 11 quid cost. Sat outside and quickly ate a sausage roll from greggs. Was told this isn 't allowed and had to vacate seat. I appreciate strictly speaking that 's true. I also think that sometimes door staff could use common sense and turn a 'blind eye '. Always used this pub for years as very friendly. Reluctant to do so again.

Handily located pub for the station and arena. They had a discount for arena ticket holders on my visit which was good of them. Staff were all friendly, especially the bar man (Ollie) and the female manager (can't recall her name). Fairly good selection of ales available on cask and keg. Good choice of food available. Food was ok, nothing special but nothing to complain about either. Well decorated and traditional feel.

"The place seems unprofessionally run. The staff all look like they could do with a bath. No overalls are worn and their clothes are all of the type that many would wear to lounge around the house in . Several have longer hair and beards but don’t wear any kitchen p.p.e. The decor is shabby and I wondered what kind of hygiene rating they would have. Although not busy, the staff seemed to be disorganised, falling over eachother and lacking in training. They seemed to handle the food in an inexperienced, clumsy fashion. The only tool I saw being used was a pizza peel for taking the pizza in and out of the oven. On all other occasions the food was handled. I didn’t notice any hand washing or alcohol gel in evidence. The menu is quite limited and uninspiring. 2 of the 6 pizza choices include chicken which Italians would argue is definite no no! All pizzas are reheated to order which eliminates the possibility of customisation. I don’t believe the restaurant would stand out in many European countries, as pizza in general is of a much higher standard than that in the UK. In spite of the above, The basic pizza is excellent in taste (even though it is all re-heated). And for this reason it is worth a visit. Compared to other uk pizza restaurants which are typically serving absolute garbage, the food is way out in front. If you can tolerate the negatives I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with the pizza. However with a bit of effort, this place could be transformed into something truly amazing."
