"I 've been here a few times. It 's a nice enough pub, with a good range of ales. The staff are friendly enough, and the drinks are decently priced. It 's always quite busy and popular among the locals. But I had a bit of a frustrating experience the other day. Me and a friend of mine were walking my dog. It began to rain so we decided to grab a drink somewhere whilst it settled down. We were near the grapes, so I whipped out my phone and googled whether dogs were allowed in the pub. Online it says a child and dog friendly pub... and that dogs [are] allowed inside . I thought brilliant, me and my mate can grab a quick pint whilst we wait for the rain to stop. We go in the pub. Nobody says a word or bats an eye lid. We buy our drinks and go to sit down. As soon as we sit down, the landlady comes over, and, very politely, says dogs are not allowed in the pub. I have no problem with this. A lot of pubs don 't allow dogs in because they can be noisy, dirty, and some people just don 't like dogs. It 's totally fair enough. But it was frustrating because it meant we then had to stand outside in the rain and the cold. The information online is clearly out of date and needs changing. I just thought I 'd do a review to give other dog walkers a heads up, and make the owners aware that the online information is incorrect. The pub itself though is nice enough though. I 'll definitely go again but next time I 'll have to leave the dog at home."

"Good night until the manger (girl) came over told us our table was booked we happily moved, she then felt the need about an hour later to come over and give one of my friends a mouthful and telling her she would be banned for life if it wasn’t for the fact it was Xmas, banned for what I have no idea. She the. For the next 40 mins or so stand in the stairs staring at us, unsure why. Before we left I did go over and ask her why she felt the need to speak to me friend the way she did, I asked her name, to which she replied yiyr banned for life and called a bouncer even though I was already leaving, while out side even the bouncer was a little confused as to why she called him. I will be calling the bar to contact the owner as this girl was clearly on power trip. Very strange behaviour from a so called manager, not really convinced she was the manager the way she acted and if she is I think the higher management need to check there cctv at the way she treats customers. Very very un professional young girl on a power trip . Was told I was banned for life for simply asking why she felt the need to speak to my friend the way she did and ask her name. Been several times before no issue, this year the music was poor, not the atmosphere that is normally there, again probably down to the poor management, even the bouncer was a little confused and agreed she was on a power trip and liked to be little women. All I can say is if your reading this, karma always comes around, you get treated the way you treat others, and I pity you as you must be a very unhappy person"

"I don’t know whether to put this on Facebook, what do you guys think… We went to The Three Shires for Sunday lunch after seeing some good reviews and nice pictures on Social Media. I was particularly enthusiastic to go as I always enjoyed The Three Shires when it was a Wine Bar. Unbelievably, we’re really struggling to find somewhere really decent for a Sunday roast, a reasonable sized portion with good meat, well cooked variety of veg, a Yorkshire pudding and lashings of gravy real gravy, not Bisto. *Overall score 0/10* We were booked in for 2:30pm and we arrived exactly on time, albeit a bit wet. We’d walked past 4 members of staff before anyone engaged with us. Anyway, we were given a choice of tables and we sat down. It was a wee bit small, in the thoroughfare opposite the bar, but it was ok. However, Fiona’s chair was broken, so she (with some late help) swapped it with a chair from the other table. That was broke too but, I was seeing that she was loosing the will to live, so she put up with it, she just didn’t lean back! We ordered drinks from a nice, but very inexperienced waitress and looked through the menu. Fiona wanted a roast chicken dinner, but that wasn’t an option, but, upon asking our waitress, she said that wouldn’t be a problem. She disappeared for a few minutes and when we next saw her we ordered the food about 2:45pm by this time. A bad start, I thought, but bring on the lovely food and all will be alright. Then we waited and waited and waited. The staff all seemed to be in chaos, at one time, four of them trying to work out a bill with the calculators on their mobile phones. Then we waited and waited and waited. At 3:30pm, an older woman came over and apologised. Fiona explained we were really stuck for time as she’d just come from visiting her mother in hospital and she had to get back. No problem, she said, I’ll check how long it will be. Immediately she came back and promised 3 minutes. 10 minutes later, we were still waiting, so we got up. I asked for the bill for the drinks, a pint and two alcohol free Gin Tonics, but they said there wasn’t a charge. In my opinion, the first thing they did right. We headed back to the car and got a drenching from the rain and came home. We don’t think a nice, relaxed, tasty, good value for money Sunday lunch is rocket science, but, clearly we’re, mostly, expecting too much definitely from Huffys at the Three Shires!"

"Not the best experience. Joined for lunch and what we wanted to order was unavailable. We order a chicken toasted sandwich and ham, egg and chips. It took about 45 mins to an hour to come out. The sandwich come out first and it looked as if it had been thrown together and didn't look appetising. Had to wait another 10 minutes for the ham egg and chips to come. I still hadn't eaten the toasted hot sandwich as I wasn't given any cutlery or sauces (it was meant to come with mayo in the sandwich but it didn't and was dry I had to call another waitress over to ask for them and the other dish to come out. 5 minutes later the cutlery and sauces came, and so did the ham egg and chipa and the salt was in packets (ok fine! but then they were all empty (people had used them and put the empty pockets back in the tray . Couldn't be bothered to ask for more again. Ketchup was in a heinz bottle and as well as hellmans mayo... the ketchup defo wasn't heinz as it was watery and vinegary. I don't mind cheaper ketchup but it was more the principle of stating it was the premium stuff when it wasn't- this wouldn't be any good for people with potential allergies. Not sure if the mayo was actually hellmans (again more of allergy purposes . The waitress didnt ask if we had any allergies which i believe is now a legal requirement. A lot of other people also weren't getting the food they were wanting as it wasn't available and the waitresses didn't know what table was what and asking people what they had ordered. I still paid for the meals as I can see they are trying to run it as best as possible and I mentioned at the till this wasn't a good experience but before I return this does need to be rectified."
