"This place has gone completely downhill. I've been a customer in here for years and I won't be back after the service I have received today. The waitresses were inattentive. We had to ask for cutlery after our food was served. We had to ask for drinks twice. When the bill came we had been overcharged. The waitress stood over us with the card machine impatiently, probably because she didn't want to give us time to check the bill. It was utter rudeness. I don't know if this place has changed hands, but it's definitely not the place it used to be."

"This spot deserves 10 stars! Amazing options for breakfast, lunch or a sweet treat. Front of house you’ll be served by the chef/owner’s mom who is absolutely kind and generous. I asked for advise on what to buy to take traveling with me because airports/train stations are the worst and she guided me on what would keep best. The prices are very low- I don’t know how they do it! She threw in an extra brownie and a tea bag for me while I travel. The food is delicious I only wish I’d come in more."

"This place is outstanding. I just looked for somewhere that offered full breakfast but stepping inside was something else. A bit like stepping back in time with a modern twist. The House and the decor are great. So cool. So vintage. Real china, lots of wood, impressive lighting. And then the food was great. A big pot of breakfast tea too (not one of these miserly ones you tend to get). And they had a raspberry and pistachio gluten free cake, so I had to squeeze a slice of that in as well. The girls and boys were welcoming, friendly, helpful and real joy. Feels like a nice place to work. My wife just asked if we were going back for breakfast tomorrow. “Hell yes” I said!"

"Three reasons why The Mitchell was a great spontaneous choice for lunch: 3) The food was excellent, especially the delicious Fish n Chips. 2) The atmosphere was fantastic. 1) Our server, Howard aka "Pepper Grinder", was incredibly funny, informed, and a blast to interact with. He truly made the experience unforgettable. Overall, the service, food, and atmosphere all scored a perfect 5 rating. The recommended dish is definitely the Fish and Chips. Pricing per person is between £20-£30 for lunch."

"Refurb looks great and love the alfresco dining element but this is our third time visiting since the refurbishment and we definitely will not be returning. The first time we booked online, arrived and were told we had not booked so I showed them the confirmation email and we were taken to a table, not given menus, no one took a drinks order. We caught someone’s attention and asked to order drinks, they said they’d send someone and still within 40 mins of being seated we didn’t have a drink, let alone a meal, so we left. Second time was better albeit still shockingly mismanaged resulting in appalling service. Constantly having to ask for drinks, cutlery, the bill more than once, to pay… it was a shambles only made up for by the nice weather. The food was ok. 6/10 food. 10/10 decor. 1/10 service. The third time was just as bad. We were shoved into a corner despite the bistro being empty and once again had to ask to be served, ask for a table setting as not enough places were set etc. The drinks orders that did arrive were wrong, the food was bland and tasteless. We won’t return which is a shame cause it’s nice to have a lovely, local restaurant but it feels as though the managers don’t know how to actually manage FOH staff and bad service just ruins a whole evening."

"There were only two options available, but both were good. If I had to choose, the rocket and pine nut option was the better one. The marinara pasta was also decent. The options were good overall, but the sauce could have used a bit more salt - typical for Scotland, where they love their salt. This review was updated on August 18, 2020."

"we had to bob on this Sunday and went to bert, the waiting queue was quite long, but still much space. we waited for half an hour to eat our only to find that the ticket had not gone through the kitchen....The staff offered a refund that was good, but when the food finally came, it was definitely not worth waiting. the packings looked like they had been thrown together and not as described on the menu. we had also asked for a fresh teekanne, but the staff had only refilled the pot with hot water and not replaced the tee bag. also some workers wore no masks, some who wore them had them around the neck as a neck warmer. we will not return after this experience to bob and berts in porttewart."

"After exploring all the cafes in the village of Bingham, my partner and I were amazed by the menu displayed on the cafe window here. With Greek inspired breakfasts and lunches, we knew we had found something special. The chef and waitress went above and beyond to accommodate my vegan requirements, which I was extremely impressed by. The portion sizes for the omelette and gyroks were generous and offered great value for money. We also enjoyed delicious smoothies and 200degree coffee with no complaints. "Small, crowded, cold. So much potential but sadly failed to deliver. The mezze starter was so disappointing. Watered down hummus, and a collection of dips. Only very meh! The pitta was nice but small portion. Slow cooked lamb was not the tender melt in your mouth sensation that I expect but rather grisly chewy meat. Kebabs were nice though. All in all it’s just a market stall pretending to be a restaurant."

"If I could give these guys a ten I would!!! Some of our family booked a camper van pitch at Highlands as our original plan was to have a small family party/gathering at the van. However weather put an end to that idea so we called Martins For assistance. We were a group of 8 with a wheelchair and someone with Motor Neuron with us, plus we had all traveled from all over Uk to be together for birthdays and quality family time. Martins Team were exceptional!!! From the first phone call they offered us space without question, said we could stay there as long as we liked and no issue with some party bits and pieces. We also had a silent disco with us to use and they were more than happy for us to use this. The staff when we were there, couldn’t do enough for us. They were so friendly, nothing was an issue and they truly helped make a memorable weekend. Thank you to you all!"

"A lovely find on my wander around Carmarthen. Absolutely gorgeous shop offering a variety of cheese, meats, breads, and olives. I decided to buy a few bits, including requesting a few slices of salami, a nice bottle of red wine, and a baguette. It came to £20 which was incredibly reasonable given the nature of the food. The service was fantastic, they made great recommendations, and had some cheese tasters out. Will ensure to swing by this way if I’m in the area again!"

"I made a reservation for Sunday lunch at 12:30 with my 80-year-old mother, who uses a walking stick, and my small children. The pub emailed me asking if we could arrive at 12:15 as they have a small kitchen. I agreed and rearranged our plans to accommodate them. However, when we arrived, we were initially seated by a waitress but then asked to move by the manager who claimed there was no booking under our name. I explained about the email asking us to come early, but towards the end of our meal, we were informed that there was only a 2-hour booking limit. Despite finishing our meal by 2:15, the manager insisted we move to make space for the next booking. When I mentioned that we were waiting for my 5-year-old to return from the bathroom, the manager became rude and shouted at us to move immediately. The staff also became surly and disrespectful, leaning across us to clean the table. Despite the unpleasant experience, we still paid the £80 bill. The manager's behavior was incredibly obnoxious, and to top it off, the lamb was tough. Overall, it was a horrible experience at this restaurant."

"I was planning to hike Arthur's Seat, so I wanted to keep my lunch light. I ordered the vegan haggis along with a toastie. I really enjoyed the different aromas of the vegan haggis. The sandwich was a good size and quite filling. I liked the haggis as well. My partner opted for the "Hungry Rabbit," which included mushrooms, paprika, and feta. I had a bite of it and found it delicious too. I would have loved to try more dishes, but I was still full from breakfast and didn't want to overeat before my hike. The food is only available for takeaway, so we found a spot in a nearby park to enjoy our meal. The location is very convenient, and I would definitely recommend it. The staff were friendly too. They also sell a variety of vegan treats, and I couldn't resist picking up some chocolate. Everything I've tried from the Gnaw brand is fantastic.
