"Very nice staff nice atmosphere and the best scones ever. The cakes looked so nicely I could not decide what to have so they gave me a mix cream tea! The staff is very nice and the homemade scone was still warm from the hoven. Definetly a local cafe to try."

"I arrived here on what was a very wet day. I was looking for lunch and I thought the options were good. It was quite busy I was fortunate to get a table. I found the staff helpful and it was good for eating on your own. I had chilli con carne which was one of the specials it was a really good helping. Nice cosy wee cafe with plenty character."

"We as a family have been coming here for the past ten years, and we can never find fault with the food usually. It has recently been refurbished which is nice, thereby creating additional seating space. We have come back here after several months and we were shocked by how much they have increased their prices. A meal for 5 (two adults and three kids) that previously woud cost approx £60 yesterday cost an eye watering £93 ! Prices have been increased as if it were a fancy London restaurant which it is not. £4 for a single kulfi. £4 for a two piece gulab jamoon (thats £2 per piece). £3 for a single garlic naan. £7.50 for a tarka daal ! and £8 for a ladies finger Karahi. Mix grill for 2-3 people £29.50 ! They have also reduced the size of their seekh kebabs and now give you cheaper chicken seekh kebabs in the mixed grill (as well as lamb) which they never used to before. While I do understand that energy costs and the price of food stuffs have gone up recently, these price hikes are not sustainable, which probably explains why on a Saturday evening at 20:00 there were only a small amount of customers. If you hike up your prices so much for a clientele who are used to paying reasonable prices you will lose customers to the detriment of trying to increase your profits to cover your costs, to a degree. Needless to say, we shall not be visiting again any time soon. Oh by the way, our meal did not even include desert for all five of us and neither did any of order any soft drinks. If we had, the bill would have probably been circa £120-£125. Thanks but no thanks, we shall find a cheaper pakistani restaurant within the surrounding areas of which there are several. Sad really as we loved their grills"

"We were sent a text with the door codes for entry and everything went smoothly. The room was clean, although some areas could use a little upkeep, it was still functional. The tea tray was well stocked and the wi-fi, while a bit spotty at times, generally worked fine. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was served in the downstairs tea room starting at 8:30. It was absolutely delicious, with juice, a choice of cereal, and hot dishes to choose from. My only suggestion is that the toast should be served on a separate side plate, as it tends to get soggy when served with the hot items. The staff member in the tea room was lovely, displaying both courtesy and efficiency."

"I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The food prepared by chefs Lucas and Sean was delicious and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere was perfect for watching the Liverpool match, and the bar service provided by Matt and Ben was excellent. I would definitely recommend this place for family and friends. Overall, I rate it 5 out of 5 for food, service, and atmosphere!"

"Well really wish we hadn't entered this place. My first time in Knaresborough was taken by family members as a birthday treat. My 5month twins were also with us. After a couple of hrs we were ready for a coffee and of course the girls were hungry. Was looking for a place where I could get a double pram inside. I walked in to ask and this lady who I presume was the owner looked at me with daggers! I went back out but was called back saying there was room. Well we all went in. Struggling while staff watched us get settled. Clearly disgruntled when the girls were screaming waiting for their milk. The young lad serving us did not want to be there that was obvious. We ordered our lunch. A bowl of soup was missing and had to ask for it. Tbh food wasn't that bad (cake was dry but soup really tasty) it's a quaint little cottage of a cafe but is ruined by very rude staff avoid this place and find somewhere else."

"We drove up from across the border from England to sample the breakfasts and weren't disapointed. You can choose from the full English or full Scottish. The 3 of us went for the latter and were happy with the Lorne (square! sausage, haggis and tattie scone alongside the bacon, eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes. There was also toast and preserves and it nicely set us up for the day. The food was cooked freshly by the very friendly owner. The rest of the menu looks great too, I'll be back to sample the horseshoe gammon. My husband has his eye on an afternoon tea sometime too. The pub has been recently renovated to a very high standard. It's fresh and airy but hasn't lost the character as the old photos and boat signs are still on display. A nice stopping off point just over the border where you'll be made most welcome"

"I called into Truffles, Henfield for a quick lunch. I ordered scrambled egg on toast. Well, I am not really sure what was served up but it looked like slop on a plate. It was white and insipid looking absolutely no sign of any yolk. Was this made from real eggs or from powdered muck? If it was real eggs the chef needs sacking! The toast underneath was sodden. I took one mouthful and new I couldn't try a second. I got a small refund for the inconvenience but nothing like the inconvenience I had of making a hasty dash to the bathroom!!!! Before Truffles (who may respond) blame this on anything else I had eaten I had not!"

"Since our usual local takeaway was closed due to a chestnut tree blocking the entrance, we decided to give Ming's a try. We had ordered from them many years ago and it was decent then, but this time was a big mistake. The chicken curry and chips should not be difficult to cook, but unfortunately, there were more onions than chicken in the dish. The curry sauce was thick and gloopy, resembling syrup, and the chips were only just cooked. It's hard to believe anyone would claim this is the best around. We definitely will not be returning and recommend others to try elsewhere. We would appreciate it if the management could respond to this substandard food."

"The first issue was with the ' A ' board on the pavement advertising bacon roll and hot drink for £2, only when I ordered it was £3. On closer inspection the shoddy sticker over the £2 had gone translucent with all the rain so from a distance you can see the £2. Lots of staff fumbling about falling over each other. Took an age to get some milk for my tea because a large group of people doing a raffle on market day had taken the jug outside fof their order of 8 coffees, whilst eavesdropping the server wasn 't even sure about their request whether americano was black coffee. They seem to take orders on a number basis shouting out numbers when your order is ready, as I wasn 't given a number I didnt even know my order was ready. The bacon had been cooked to within a inch of its life and pretty tasteless, A really bad experience to which I wont be returning My true review is 0 5 My advice is go to Gregg 's, it 's only 30 feet away"

"As a Royton resident, I hate to draw everyone's attention to this place, and ensure I never get a table again as it's so busy, but hey, it's great food, and very reasonably priced, so credit where credit is due. We ate in, and found the ambience pleasant, and the mysteriously titled medium dry white wine delicious. It's not Chardonnay, pinot grigio or sauvignon blanc that I know I am a bit of a wine buff hate to toot my flute but it's true but it was delicious. Maybe it's Chinese wine? They do not have beers on tap, but they have an array of nice bottled beer at a reasonable price eg Tsing Tao. We will be back! a bit sooner than last time! Thank you"

"You should definitely stop by this restaurant in the morning when the smell of fresh baking fills the air. It's awesome! The staff is friendly, the food is amazing, and everything is cooked on-site so it's still warm and fresh. This shop has been around for a long time and it's truly a hidden gem in town."

"I cannot believe the prices for a small muffin sandwich at £4.25, it's incredible. I used to go to Harry Gow's most days for lunch, getting a sandwich, cake, and cold drink. But with their prices, I would end up spending around £10 a day for lunch. That's an average of £60 per week, £3,000 per year on food from Harry Gow's. And with two of us, that's £6,000 pounds in profit for my business. It's just too much, back to packed lunches. The prices these days are outrageous."

"cafe is at the marina many chairs outside to sit some with sun umbrellas and a fair cafe in many tables. at an end of the caffe is a small part area that offers a separate entrance for people who eat outside. I sat inside and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was waiter service. there is a quite reasonable menu with the English breakfast and various meal times for lunch or afternoon meal like cake and tee. I had a tee cake without jam, of course, only with butter, as it should be according to my opinion, and it was already baked, which was great, as it saves to spread around with this little butterpack and spread it yourself. I don't know where to buy their tee cake, but that was the most beautiful tee cake I've ever had in my long life, and my cappuccino was also delicious, and all reasonable prices in a basic café and served by a very pleasant waitress."

"Went to York for a day trip and stubbled on the Shambles Market by accident, so glad we did. The weather was miserable so the area was quite quiet but there ar eplenty of food options and benches with parasols to sit under. We decided on some Indian food and I had a samosa and a chickpea Dosa and my boyfriend had a Lamb Kathi roll. He loved it so much he was tempted to back for another. My dosa was so nice and fluffy and was easy to tear. There was a nice spice to the chickpeas. Its great that it's all made fresh in front of you and the service was really friendly. Oh and they take card to."

"I recently dined at a restaurant with a friend for lunch before my move to China. The waitresses were all very friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The menu offers a variety of classic dishes as well as some more adventurous options for those with a daring palate. The selection of homemade baked goods is extensive and all of the food is of excellent quality, made with love and care. The dishes are fresh and full of flavor, truly a delight to enjoy at Burnside. The atmosphere makes you feel like part of the family, and you can also stop by to refuel with petrol or diesel, or pick up snacks for your travels. Additionally, there is a wonderful selection of handmade crafts and home goods available."

"I attended today with my daughter who for personal reasons struggles to eat out without planning ahead. She picked an item but I misheard and ordered else. When it arrived and wasn't what she was expecting she became upset. I explained this to Kat who discreetly discussed this with Sam in the kitchen. My mistake was quickly rectified without any fuss and lots of discretion. Thank you to both. No one can ever know the story behind those eating in the cafe and I can't thank them enough for their understanding."

"The food was actually not bad at all. I have only ever been to Subway a few times in my life as I don't, or I should say didn't, have confidence in the product. But this last experience has changed my mind on the food. We went for the meatless philly and it was lovely! Not like the images but fast food places rarely produce the food as shown on the images, but it was tasty and I will definitely be going back! Give it a try if you have never had a Subway!"

"I have visited Tindale Deli a couple of times. The staff are always friendly and their prices are reasonable. So far, i've had a large coronation chicken baguette, ham salad in a baguette and a large sausage sarnie. They also offer meal deals. The only downside is that they don't open until 9:30am but I guess they will prepare everything fresh each day. I can't fault anything I have eaten so far. If you are passing, give them a try, you won't be disappointed."
