"A very poor experience. We took my elderly mother in law for a late breakfast, travelling across from Fraserburgh some 45 miles. We liked the look and read the reviews, arriving before the 11.30 watershed as advised on your website. Despite arriving in time, the waitresses ignored us for some 10/15 minutes before telling us we were too late to order breakfast this was after taking an order from another table after 11.30. We were told to order a cake and a drink if we wanted anything at all. The waitress was not particularly apologetic and only 10 minutes later took a lunch order from another table (before midday another significant time). It cannot be outwith the capability of any cafe/restaurant to be able to serve soup and a roll without having to cook any food the soup could easily already be prepared and ready to serve. My wife has a catering background and was surprised at this. I would like to comment on your food but can only say that the biscuit looked dry; the scone was nice enough; the coffee was very poor and perhaps your staff might be equally disappointed had they been served a flat white with no crema or the cover of textured milk it might as well have been made form a cafetiere with warm milk added. Perhaps they've not visited other good barista cafes. Upon paying, the waitress asked if everything had been alright and looked surprised when I commented politely, becoming very defensive. After driving a round trip of some 90 miles, this was a very disappointing experience and we shall not bother again."

"We’ve been coming down to Lynton and Lynmouth for years, eaten in most places and have always wanted to try this lovely tea room and cafe in Lynton, The Picnic Box. Our family of 6 enjoyed their wonderful Traditional Ploughman’s lunch with a selection of meats, local cheese and a slice of homemade quiche (which was delicious , lots of sandwiches and homemade soups catered to the whole family’s taste. Their cakes on the counter kept tempting us throughout lunch, so we had to order a few slices to try out. All homemade and absolutely delicious. We had a freshly made slice of Caramel Shortbread, a cream tea (the scones were so fluffy and light! and a slice of Chocolate Orange cake Mary Berry would be proud of! We will definitely be back, it’s a must stop for lunch in Lynton!"

"I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The food prepared by chefs Lucas and Sean was delicious and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere was perfect for watching the Liverpool match, and the bar service provided by Matt and Ben was excellent. I would definitely recommend this place for family and friends. Overall, I rate it 5 out of 5 for food, service, and atmosphere!"

"Original Review:Beautiful simple atmosphere, consistent quality of food and efficient service. that's an old time classic. my best article on the menu is by far the hacks. curries are tasty and not spicy. they lose a point due to the lack of innovation on the Dessert menu so after my last visit I add to my original review. the evaluation I gave was originally a 4 and has steeply reduced to 2. the service was without a courteous smile; functional. the kebabs were simply in order, the bargains were perfect, the curry was average and the naan was good. the only really good part of the meal was that the drink was served at a perfect temperature. we were not even asked if we wanted to dessert, not that the dessert menu offers everything that is not frozen, but that is not the point. I want to visit again. probably not....A shame, because this was earlier one of my favorite 07/09/2015 back at the top. Excellent service, eating ruptured with taste and even dessert that the owner himself overlaid was just too good to resist. the standards were slippery and have been high at all times. the restaurant was packed on a Tuesday night. to be one of my tribes."

"After conducting some research, we stopped by this tea room looking for a dog-friendly café where we could enjoy our meal indoors with our furry friend. The café, which has a traditional feel, exceeded our expectations with the delicious food on offer. My husband tried the roast beef bap with chips, while I opted for a jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw. Both dishes were beautifully presented, generously portioned, and incredibly tasty. We also each had a coffee, and were pleasantly surprised by the total price of £20, considering the high quality of the ingredients. I highly recommend this café/tearoom to anyone in the area, especially those with a four-legged companion in tow."

"Today I visited honeybees for my lunch and I had a beautiful tasty homemade feta cheese tart with salad new potatoes and coleslaw and it was beautiful there was plenty on the plate and I wish I took a photograph but it looked so yummy I had to get tucked in, also had a pot of Yorkshire Tea for one, here is the Shocking part before I typed MY review, I have read previous reviews and have been shocked at what they have said so here goes... in the past this cafe has had some staff who did not respect or have a clue how to work in a cafe but they are long gone thankfully. If frequent this Cafe regular as is a delightful place 2023. The quirkiness of the decor going back in time and staff most welcoming and friendly and the Owners are friendly and nothing is no trouble. The food is ALL Homemade and made with ingredients source from local shops and every Wednesday from the weekly market. I have NEVER had a bad meal or drink here. As for prices they are set for the quality of the drink you are to drink and the meal you are eating which is homemade and not out of a packet or a microwave meal etc. Remember if you have a complaint grow a backbone and please bring it up to the server or owners and it will be rectified and Please do not voice your views on here or any other trip platform as its rude and not very friendly. Your words could destroy a business THANKFULLY this cafe is Very Busy each day it is open and the Staff are here there and everywhere so be patient they will attend to your needs if you have a limited time mention it to the server who shows you your table. Well that is my rant over. Please be kind to each other and remember Typed words can hurt."

"I called into Truffles, Henfield for a quick lunch. I ordered scrambled egg on toast. Well, I am not really sure what was served up but it looked like slop on a plate. It was white and insipid looking absolutely no sign of any yolk. Was this made from real eggs or from powdered muck? If it was real eggs the chef needs sacking! The toast underneath was sodden. I took one mouthful and new I couldn't try a second. I got a small refund for the inconvenience but nothing like the inconvenience I had of making a hasty dash to the bathroom!!!! Before Truffles (who may respond) blame this on anything else I had eaten I had not!"

"Best Chinese takeaway in the area. I have tried so many takeaways for Chinese since living in Wolverhampton and cannot find a decent one. Ordered from here yesterday and couldn’t fault a thing. We ordered 2 portions of sweet and sour chicken which was beautiful and fresh with that lovely crisp texture like it had just been put in the sauce rather that sat in it for hours. We had the crispy shredded chilli beef which is by far one of the tastiest I’ve had. The sauce was perfect and the beef was perfect and crispy, although couldn’t taste any chilli. We also had the salt and pepper chicken (due to not having the squid version in the menu which we usually opt for) again this was nice but could not taste any chilli. Chips and fried rices were as to be expected too. I will be using this place next time as I don’t feel there are any good Chinese’s in Wolverhampton"

"Out for breakfast this morning. Disappointed with the quality of produce. Latte was watery. We had a bacon roll. Black pudding on toast, which didn’t taste fresh and was over cooked and quite greasy. Certainly didn’t taste freshly cooked. Sausages were herby and quite plasticky. Toast had margarine, so not toast butter as advertised. Rolls were cheap. . . Won’t be returning Service: Dine in"

"The first issue was with the ' A ' board on the pavement advertising bacon roll and hot drink for £2, only when I ordered it was £3. On closer inspection the shoddy sticker over the £2 had gone translucent with all the rain so from a distance you can see the £2. Lots of staff fumbling about falling over each other. Took an age to get some milk for my tea because a large group of people doing a raffle on market day had taken the jug outside fof their order of 8 coffees, whilst eavesdropping the server wasn 't even sure about their request whether americano was black coffee. They seem to take orders on a number basis shouting out numbers when your order is ready, as I wasn 't given a number I didnt even know my order was ready. The bacon had been cooked to within a inch of its life and pretty tasteless, A really bad experience to which I wont be returning My true review is 0 5 My advice is go to Gregg 's, it 's only 30 feet away"

"Great little place small bar restaurant with separate accommodation a stones throw across the car park. I stayed in the accommodation for 2 nights in room 3 while working in the area, it was larger then I expected it to be. My room had a comfortable double and a single, private en suite bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. Tea and coffee facilities, toaster and a microwave. I had a evening meal on my arrival I chose the fish and chips with peas and a side salad which I really enjoyed. Unfortunately i had to leave half of my food as their was so much on the plate I couldn't manage it all I was stuffed. The landlady Lucy was really lovely and the two lads behind the bar were brilliant made me feel very welcome from the moment I arrived till I left. Thanks again to all the team at first and last inn."

"went here on saturday the 29 th september for a romantic meal out,we have been here on quite a few occasions and it has been ok in the past so thought we would give it a go now there are new owners, where to start, we were the only diners on the night between 7.30 -9.00,other than people collecting take a way which we were surrounded by,the place was freezing cold ,the music being played was dance music which drove me and my husband insane, not very relaxing at all, i did have to get up and ask the young lady if she could turn it of or turn the station over, which she was very accommodating to this, but by this time we had eaten our food quickly as it was just like sitting in a cold take a way shop, the starters were ok nothing to rave a bout but the main courses were very nice , the young lady in the bar area was very nice i must add this but even she was wearing a big hooded jumper as like i said it was freezing , i am sad to say we will not be returning here again and it is a shame as this is on our doorstep ,also no atmosphere in their ,bare tables very minimal ,its the little things that make a place more desirable, maybe a candle or a flower on the table or a little warmth in the place ,"

"We have been regular customers at Maiseys bakery for over 18 years, visiting every Saturday until the pandemic hit. Since the management change, we have noticed a significant increase in prices for their bread and cakes. Today, on 29/7/23, we paid £1.35 for the smallest Lardy square we've ever purchased. We understand that ingredient costs have gone up, but it's becoming challenging for us to justify the prices. Despite this, we must say that Maiseys' bread and cakes are still the best we've ever tasted. Stay safe."

"I always liked harry gows, but a food incompatibility that turns into a full anaphylaxic allergy, means that I have to ask the staff to help with which they are great, although the people in the waiting queue generally do not like it. myra in seafield rd was great, my son only asked what I can buy my mother, but it can take so much time on itself. my suggestion is to put their allergy information on the website and then everyone will know what they can have and it will also free the workers time."
"I often visit Manillas and last night I had the pleasure of attending their Mediterranean Tapas night. The food was fresh and every dish (13 in total) was delicious. The atmosphere was lively yet intimate, and the service was friendly and well-paced. I am very picky when it comes to dining out and I usually don't leave reviews unless everything was superb, but the whole team at Manillas exceeded my expectations. I have already booked in for next week's Mexican night and I can't wait. It's so nice to have themed evenings during the darker months. Well done to everyone at Manillas!"

"First of all, i liked the name very much “NUKKAD” not only me, if any true indian will hear this name then he or she will go mad about this. So, i have ordered samosa chat chicken roll. The taste was amazing especially that samosa chat reminds me about delhi street food. If you will ever go to York, you should try this once thank me later."

"Popped in on a warm day for a quick bottle of water, a member of staff asked what we would like we said just a bottle of water he carried on serving the man before us. Then a lady came over asked what we wanted, again we said just a bottle of water, she looked at us, said nothing and then moved the person behind us. Beyond rude just because we weren't ordering a sandwich we didn't count as customers?? We left utterly disgusted."

"I have visited Tindale Deli a couple of times. The staff are always friendly and their prices are reasonable. So far, i've had a large coronation chicken baguette, ham salad in a baguette and a large sausage sarnie. They also offer meal deals. The only downside is that they don't open until 9:30am but I guess they will prepare everything fresh each day. I can't fault anything I have eaten so far. If you are passing, give them a try, you won't be disappointed."
