"Had not been to The Snow Goose for quite some time, then visited twice within 2 weeks. Really like the Toasties here, plenty of filling and served with a fresh crisp side salad. My Husband ordered Welsh Rarebit with bacon on the top, which he thoroughly enjoyed. We were served by friendly staff and did not have long to wait. The prices are very reasonable considering you are on the Marina. I agree with other reviews regarding the car park. There are plenty of signs around and as long as you enter your car registration number in the machine located outside The Snow Goose, you will get 2 hours free parking."

"I'll say it again: Chicken Balti. Once you eat this you will never want to eat anything else ever again. It is a think of exquisite beauty and possibly the best curry have ever had and I have had many. I've been coming here for...about 18 years. The premises used to be pretty bad (terrifying toilet) but vastly improved although still very cafe-like. Staff are friendly and hardworking from Afghanistan I think. Who knew incredible curry comes from Afghanistan? Not me but I'm very glad it does. Sometimes your food will come with a complimentary salad, sometimes it won't. It doesn't matter. Go there immediately, order the Chicken Balti and for a while at least your life will be wonderful."

"I've been going to boogie for years and used to love the ambiance. This was a huge part of the experience as it was cosy, warm ,relaxing.Don't get me wrong ,food ,cakes, coffee still fab ,but the atmosphere is gone. New paintwork and flooring, all very fresh and clean but the strip lights are just awful !!Ive never seen this in a cafe.Owners please put some warmth back like it was before. Lots of people find strip lighting gives them headaches."

"This small cafe was the perfect choice for a takeaway lunch today. Everything was made fresh to order, really delicious sandwiches, baguettes, and warmed homemade quiche in generous portions. Friendly staff and packaged up perfectly to go and enjoy in the churchyard next door with the most amazing view. We will be back and I will make sure there's room to try some of the cakes next time!"

"We as a family have been coming here for the past ten years, and we can never find fault with the food usually. It has recently been refurbished which is nice, thereby creating additional seating space. We have come back here after several months and we were shocked by how much they have increased their prices. A meal for 5 (two adults and three kids) that previously woud cost approx £60 yesterday cost an eye watering £93 ! Prices have been increased as if it were a fancy London restaurant which it is not. £4 for a single kulfi. £4 for a two piece gulab jamoon (thats £2 per piece). £3 for a single garlic naan. £7.50 for a tarka daal ! and £8 for a ladies finger Karahi. Mix grill for 2-3 people £29.50 ! They have also reduced the size of their seekh kebabs and now give you cheaper chicken seekh kebabs in the mixed grill (as well as lamb) which they never used to before. While I do understand that energy costs and the price of food stuffs have gone up recently, these price hikes are not sustainable, which probably explains why on a Saturday evening at 20:00 there were only a small amount of customers. If you hike up your prices so much for a clientele who are used to paying reasonable prices you will lose customers to the detriment of trying to increase your profits to cover your costs, to a degree. Needless to say, we shall not be visiting again any time soon. Oh by the way, our meal did not even include desert for all five of us and neither did any of order any soft drinks. If we had, the bill would have probably been circa £120-£125. Thanks but no thanks, we shall find a cheaper pakistani restaurant within the surrounding areas of which there are several. Sad really as we loved their grills"

"We would like to thank Teresa and her husband at The White Hart for making our Wedding weekend a memorable one. We booked all 8 bedrooms for family and friends for our Wedding at The Ashes. The White Hart is on The Ashes suppliers list and we highly recommend you use them! Having a B&B rather than a chain hotel made the world of difference as we were able to mil about with no concern of other guests. The service was 5* and we would like to thank you both and all of your wonderful staff for your hospitality. The breakfasts were amazing, the buffet on the Friday evening has been mentioned by everyone and the kids meals were perfect. We would also like to thank you for being so considerate with the kids (as I know we're a large bunch! . Also, a big mention to housekeeping who made each and every room/bathroom immaculate for our stay. It's been wonderful! And if were ever back in Leek we know where we'll be booking to stay!"

"Today I visited honeybees for my lunch and I had a beautiful tasty homemade feta cheese tart with salad new potatoes and coleslaw and it was beautiful there was plenty on the plate and I wish I took a photograph but it looked so yummy I had to get tucked in, also had a pot of Yorkshire Tea for one, here is the Shocking part before I typed MY review, I have read previous reviews and have been shocked at what they have said so here goes... in the past this cafe has had some staff who did not respect or have a clue how to work in a cafe but they are long gone thankfully. If frequent this Cafe regular as is a delightful place 2023. The quirkiness of the decor going back in time and staff most welcoming and friendly and the Owners are friendly and nothing is no trouble. The food is ALL Homemade and made with ingredients source from local shops and every Wednesday from the weekly market. I have NEVER had a bad meal or drink here. As for prices they are set for the quality of the drink you are to drink and the meal you are eating which is homemade and not out of a packet or a microwave meal etc. Remember if you have a complaint grow a backbone and please bring it up to the server or owners and it will be rectified and Please do not voice your views on here or any other trip platform as its rude and not very friendly. Your words could destroy a business THANKFULLY this cafe is Very Busy each day it is open and the Staff are here there and everywhere so be patient they will attend to your needs if you have a limited time mention it to the server who shows you your table. Well that is my rant over. Please be kind to each other and remember Typed words can hurt."

"I called into Truffles, Henfield for a quick lunch. I ordered scrambled egg on toast. Well, I am not really sure what was served up but it looked like slop on a plate. It was white and insipid looking absolutely no sign of any yolk. Was this made from real eggs or from powdered muck? If it was real eggs the chef needs sacking! The toast underneath was sodden. I took one mouthful and new I couldn't try a second. I got a small refund for the inconvenience but nothing like the inconvenience I had of making a hasty dash to the bathroom!!!! Before Truffles (who may respond) blame this on anything else I had eaten I had not!"

"The first issue was with the ' A ' board on the pavement advertising bacon roll and hot drink for £2, only when I ordered it was £3. On closer inspection the shoddy sticker over the £2 had gone translucent with all the rain so from a distance you can see the £2. Lots of staff fumbling about falling over each other. Took an age to get some milk for my tea because a large group of people doing a raffle on market day had taken the jug outside fof their order of 8 coffees, whilst eavesdropping the server wasn 't even sure about their request whether americano was black coffee. They seem to take orders on a number basis shouting out numbers when your order is ready, as I wasn 't given a number I didnt even know my order was ready. The bacon had been cooked to within a inch of its life and pretty tasteless, A really bad experience to which I wont be returning My true review is 0 5 My advice is go to Gregg 's, it 's only 30 feet away"

"Best Chinese takeaway in the area. I have tried so many takeaways for Chinese since living in Wolverhampton and cannot find a decent one. Ordered from here yesterday and couldn’t fault a thing. We ordered 2 portions of sweet and sour chicken which was beautiful and fresh with that lovely crisp texture like it had just been put in the sauce rather that sat in it for hours. We had the crispy shredded chilli beef which is by far one of the tastiest I’ve had. The sauce was perfect and the beef was perfect and crispy, although couldn’t taste any chilli. We also had the salt and pepper chicken (due to not having the squid version in the menu which we usually opt for) again this was nice but could not taste any chilli. Chips and fried rices were as to be expected too. I will be using this place next time as I don’t feel there are any good Chinese’s in Wolverhampton"

"Last day of our holiday coming home we did a ten mile detour to go to Maiseys bakers for a few bits and pieces , we chose the large sausage gaps , lady cake, sausage rolls , doughnuts etc. etc. the sausage gaps contained about 6-8 well cooked and very tasty sausages in a super sizes baps , fantastically tasty , a meal in itself , and served by a very smartly uniformed young lady , who couldnt have been more cheerful and helpful.Maiseys bakery is the best , a great selection of sweet and savoury snacks , tea and coffee and cold drinks complete their vast selection , the sausage rolls and doughnuts and lardy cakes were eagerly devoured on our four hour journey home , their sausage rolls deserve a special mention , fantastic pastry and a delicious sausage meat filling are the best we've ever tasted .Thank you Maiseys for being a wonderful bakers , you deserve every accolade bestowed on you , We only wish we lived closer , and hope its not too long before we're back in Somerset and sampling their delicious fare FIVE STARS"

"As a Royton resident, I hate to draw everyone's attention to this place, and ensure I never get a table again as it's so busy, but hey, it's great food, and very reasonably priced, so credit where credit is due. We ate in, and found the ambience pleasant, and the mysteriously titled medium dry white wine delicious. It's not Chardonnay, pinot grigio or sauvignon blanc that I know I am a bit of a wine buff hate to toot my flute but it's true but it was delicious. Maybe it's Chinese wine? They do not have beers on tap, but they have an array of nice bottled beer at a reasonable price eg Tsing Tao. We will be back! a bit sooner than last time! Thank you"

"I cannot believe the prices for a small muffin sandwich at £4.25, it's incredible. I used to go to Harry Gow's most days for lunch, getting a sandwich, cake, and cold drink. But with their prices, I would end up spending around £10 a day for lunch. That's an average of £60 per week, £3,000 per year on food from Harry Gow's. And with two of us, that's £6,000 pounds in profit for my business. It's just too much, back to packed lunches. The prices these days are outrageous."
"cafe is at the marina many chairs outside to sit some with sun umbrellas and a fair cafe in many tables. at an end of the caffe is a small part area that offers a separate entrance for people who eat outside. I sat inside and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was waiter service. there is a quite reasonable menu with the English breakfast and various meal times for lunch or afternoon meal like cake and tee. I had a tee cake without jam, of course, only with butter, as it should be according to my opinion, and it was already baked, which was great, as it saves to spread around with this little butterpack and spread it yourself. I don't know where to buy their tee cake, but that was the most beautiful tee cake I've ever had in my long life, and my cappuccino was also delicious, and all reasonable prices in a basic café and served by a very pleasant waitress."

"I always enjoy a visit to the food court at Shambles Market as there are so many great choices on offer. Nukkad is a great option if you fancy a bit of Indian street food. You can get a good range of snacks including samosa chaat, aloo tikki chaat, dahi puri and masala dosa. My favourite is their paneer kathi roll which is possibly the best this side of Kolkata! We've travelled extensively in India and love sampling street food while we are exploring. While this isn't 100% authentic it is pretty damn good."

"Popped in on a warm day for a quick bottle of water, a member of staff asked what we would like we said just a bottle of water he carried on serving the man before us. Then a lady came over asked what we wanted, again we said just a bottle of water, she looked at us, said nothing and then moved the person behind us. Beyond rude just because we weren't ordering a sandwich we didn't count as customers?? We left utterly disgusted."
