"I have been to quite a few afternoon teas. This one I would describe as the worst for the price. The minimum price is GBP 90 as there is « discretionary » service charge to the stated list price, though it is now normal for UK establishments. The quality of food was good, but the sweet treats were melting when they were brought. China is well worn out. The main problem is the service, which was non-existent compared to similar establishments. Just to name the few: We were not asked if we want aperitifs aperitifs were not brought together for everyone and we had to wait for 20 min for the last one to arrive The refill hot water was plated all over the table and it was miracle that no one was burnt The waiter told us to pack our own doggy bag, thankfully he provided the box Such a disappointment, I better go to cheaper Rytz next time"

"It has been a while since we last dined here and it was worth the wait to get back. The food was amazing , great presentation, tastes and flavours, its a super restaurant to sit back and enjoy the atmosphere, surroundings and just relax and enjoy the time with your partner. The staff from front of house to the bar, and of course who can not mention Sebastian, what a really nice chatty guy who is great asset to the restaurant. Its great that you can actually see the chef himself in the kitchen (on the night we dined here he was) and know that the food will be perfect when it comes out to you. The menu has so much to choose from and you will be in a conundrum for what to choose as all the dishes look so appetising. Already looking forward to visiting again when next in London."

"We chose this restaurant because it was advertised as dog friendly and we were interested in trying their traditional Sunday Roast. However, we were disappointed from the start as we were told the roast could only be served on the terrace of a lovely garden, rather than in the restaurant. Despite our preference for indoor dining, we agreed due to the nice weather. The service was slow, but we were not in a rush. As we began to eat, we were bothered by wasps, which was concerning for one diner who has an allergy to their stings. Our mention of this issue did not result in a solution. The quality of the food was mediocre and as we asked to move inside, we were told that our dog would have to stay outside even though the dining room was mostly empty. Our complaint about the lack of dog-friendliness was ignored. In the end, we decided to leave and the only form of apology was a significantly reduced bill compared to what we had ordered. Overall, a disappointing experience and a shame."

"Forgive the bright purple exterior and you will have an amazing meal here. The food and service was top class. I had special ribs which were delicious and a decent size starter portion and it was a treat to have some Thai desserts on the menu too, banana fritters were awesome!"

"Nice place, but badly let down by a couple of things. My brie starter came with bread on the menu, but the bread didn 't arrive. Not a problem, I just asked the waitress if she could please bring it and she said did you order any? I advised it came with bread on the menu so she went off, only to come back and tell me it did not!? I can read, it definitely did. My friend had to confirm it to the waitress, it was all very bizarre and slightly pathetic, it was just bread!!! Eventually, having had argue with her whilst my starter went cold she finally returned with two pathetically thin slices of bog standard baguette. Our mains were VERY nice lobster ravioli and wild boar ragout but again let down by penny pinching things. My friend ordered a side of garlic ciabatta and it was again a couple of tiny slices of shop bought baguette and a total rip off. My side salad was also incredibly stingy and cost over a fiver. Bread and salad has the biggest profit margin of any items in a restaurant so to be absurdly mean with either makes absolutely no sense! Also debating your customers over what 's on your menu and being WRONG whilst their food goes cold is just really poor. At £20+ a main course in Hinckley I sadly won 't be returning, no problem paying that but I think it 's fair to expect more from the experience than being irritated over totally avoidable nonsense."

"We are eight friends who get together every two months for lunch. We decided on The Italian kitchen and weren’t disappointed. We loved the restaurant beautiful atmosphere, fabulous menu vast choices it took me awhile to make a choice as there was so many lovely dishes to choose from. The staff were friendly, attentive and very well trained can highly recommend this restaurant all in the party enjoyed their meal. Thank you."

"I was very disappointed with our Easter meal at this restaurant with my family. We were recommended this place, but it did not meet our expectations. The food was tasteless and lukewarm, bordering on cold. The only thing I enjoyed was the raspberry sorbet. I have dietary restrictions and ordered the nut roast without being told it came with cauliflower in cheese cream sauce. I always struggle when dining out due to my intolerances, so I did not mention the mistake. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this restaurant."

"We got a voucher from Itison for a day out with a friend and were pleased with the theatrical cookery and the value for money. There was a choice of starter and then fried potatoes, stir fried veg, egg fried rice with a choice of main course. We had delicate chicken gyoza with dips followed by delicious teriyaki chicken salmon (not a single bone). We couldn’t finish the portions and loved the atmosphere. The Grateful dead I e tea cocktails were amazing. Will return."

"This was our first visit to the restaurant having passed a few times and thought it looked attractive. The booking was at 6 pm, and the restaurant was quiet when we arrived so we had a choice of tables. The initial drinks service was rather slow, but thereafter the service was very good and we had a particularly friendly waiter. The food was excellent, interesting and well presented, and at around £40 per head good value. Increasingly I find that portion size is a very effective indicator of quality in an eating place a starter that is so large you have to leave either half of it or no room to enjoy the main course is not impressive. By that measure, The Magnum is definitely in the top drawer."

"Revisit of this place, think this is the fifth time we've had food from here but disappointed this time. Not sure of they've had a change in chef or ownership but not of the curries tasted very nice at all and they were all cold all the meat was so over cooked it was like rubber and the tikka masala was one of the worst I've ever had . Pickle Tray tasted like it was out of a cheap jar, we may eat here again but unlikely"

"Our order was taken by a new server and he messed up the order. I was given a standard pizza its a good job I asked once it arrived if it was gluten free. It wasn't the manager apologised prefusly and said he shouldn't of delt with the order one we said about allergies. The manager delt with us and couldn't do enough. She took the dishes away and we were given gluten free pizza. I must say it was really nice and this experience has not put me off going back there."

"ate here with my better half on a Saturday night recently a rare night for us, and suesey street hasn't disappointed at all! we had a really nice evening from the moment when we received a warm welcome at the door when we finished our delicious cocktails in the beautiful bar at the end of our night. in between we were treated with a delicious food and excellent service. I had to start the scallops, and it was really amazing I would go so far to say it is the best (and well dimensioned) scallop star I had in a long time. the nativity for the main was top-notch. my wife was happy to see some vegetarian options on the menu and she was equally happy with what she had. we were too full for dessert, but we had a cocktail that they were so good that we ended our night in the bar area and had another! there is a beautiful atmosphere in the suesey street and it is very comfortable. we are coming back in definitiw!"

"We were recommended the Churchill by our guest house. We were greeted by Reece who had actually taken our booking that evening. He promptly helped us with our drinks and explained the menu. The ambience of the restaurant was beautiful and relaxing and we chose where we wanted to be seated which was beneath Churchill's painting. Soon after we were asked by Reece if we were ready to place our order. When the food arrived it was generous portions and certainly had the wow factor. We will definitely return on our next visit to York. We will recommend the Churchill Hotel Restaurant to everybody.. Hopefully they'll get the pleasure of Reese serving them."

"So I'm on a mission to lose some weight and get healthy, my daughter was adamant she wanted to come here for dessert. We heard it was under new management, so we were a little apprehensive. However, I enjoyed it before, but I used always get a waffle. We walked in, and the new owner was there to greet us. He told me straight away there weren't any waffles available, and to have some would be a half-hour wait. The waffles were the reason we went. I almost walked out of there, but my daughter wanted the ice cream instead. So we were a group of My children made their order and enjoyed it; the youngest one went for that blue ice cream. She enjoyed it but wasn't a fan of bits that were in it. The other three enjoyed their desserts. I thought I'd get a sundae; call it a proper cheat day (I have a lot of them). I got the chocolate sundae, and for once in my life, it was perfect. Not too sweet I felt sick, but just right so I could enjoy it and finish it off. Great value for money, and the customer service was flawless. I told my daughters to go make their orders, but the older were being shy, so when I was sitting on the table asking one of them what they wanted, I repeated it loud enough the owner got the gist of what I was doing, and was in the ball. Really nice desserts, couldn't recommend it enough. Will be back maybe even tomorrow for a waffle. Just gotta watch those calories. Lol."

"I have had my fair share of breakfasts in my time, but this was up there with the best. After being up from 2:30am to travel from London to Dublin we were half asleep when we arrived. We wandered the streets looking for somewhere to eat and gosh did we find a cracker. The black pudding and sausages were one of the best I've ever had. The whole breakfast was immaculate and they were very accommodating to my girlfriend who asked to substitute a few things and they gave her extra of the things she liked without asking. Great please, if I ever return to Dublin I will for sure return here."
