"High quality food, excellent menu, very friendly staff, very clean environment. They paid attention to detail. There are universal outlets by the tables with USB plugs and wifi. The food is not cheap and not to expensive but it is worth to treat yourself every now and then. The fresh pressed fruit and vegetable drinks are delicious. I went for breakfast ad I am planning on having dinner there too."

"Had the Chicken Curry dish with sticky rice, it had the right amount of heat and flavor, would highly recommend. My better half had the lasagna which came piping hot to the table, was creamy with plenty of meat and cheese, garlic bread was delicious. Emma our server was friendly and reasonably attentive- was unclear if we had to pay our check at the bar or if we could pay at the table. Great overall experience and would highly recommend."

"we came and sat fast and ordered drinks immediately, which almost immediately arrived so well we ordered starter and net. whitebait and a mini-toad in the hole to begin and two children roast beef, extra yorkshire to go with the pig. a torte that we asked with new kartoffels instead of chips and an adult porn that I asked for bark and pigs and said I would like to pay extra for if necessary. then it went downhill. minutes after ordering our food, and after the appetizers were deleted, a waitress came to us and said: "I'm sorry we don't have bark" we were happy with it. not because they had run out, but because of the time she needed to recognize. they apologized. we said okay and waited. we waited a few more minutes for the most important courses. we have all starved and a little frustrated. the net arrived. chips on the plate not new kartoffels! the frying of the child, now both pigs were half fat and half a carrilled pork steak. not the roasted pork on the menu. no Yorkshire pudding in itself and the veg. bland boiled carrots, boiled black gray cabbage and what I can only describe as baby food flower casse. it was mush! my children said to me. “Daddy, that’s not great,” I couldn’t even contradict them. I couldn't stop mine because it was so bad and I never let it eat! the cake was good, but the veg was cooked again and darkened and the wrong potato peel. Once finished, no one seemed to come and clear plates, acknowledge us or treat us at all. I went into the bar and asked me to talk to a manager. I explained everything, she apologized and gave me the bill. roasts were taken off, but nothing else. I didn't think that was good enough, but it was late and wanted to go home. for appetizers, drinks inedible meals. very upset to say the"

"the good is that they have a separate vegan menu, but: I ordered the starter superfood salad thought for £7.75 they get a decent part and a crumb. the salad was tiny, with only a sad piece of the advertised sweet potato and no flower cabbage. the server felt bad about it and checked with his superior who claimed it was just as it should be. I then ordered a side of sweet potatoes and butternut quash was added when I said that the kitchen was actually from sweet potatoes. I then asked for broccoli instead of the kartoffel and got a small bowl of steamless tasteless sweetened with none of the sauce/additons specified on the menu. I guess I don't have to say that the crumb wasn't great either."

"We had a reservation at 11 but when we arrived they tell us that the kitchen is closing between 11 and 12. So what is the point ? How is is possible to do a reservation when the kitchen is close ? Then we only had 2 minutes to make our choice and the waitress made few mistakes in it. Bad experience"

"Always a beautiful venue. We were greeted at the door. Had drinks and chatted on the sofas. We had a lovely round table which is perfect for conversation. The food was lovely. The staff put a candle on my mums dessert for her birthday which made it special. Our only complaint was that it was cold!! One of our guests actually stood up and stood by the radiator between courses. I appreciate that the restaurant had been closed for two days and it takes a while for the building to warm up ... but it spoilt what was otherwise a lovely meal !"

"After being poorly booked as a treat. Specifically asked the waitress for no fish in the sandwiches she returned and confirmed this was ok and the fish filling would be changed. They arrived with fish. Very disappointing and we didnt correct them as they were so busy. Scones arrived with just cream and we had to ask for jam. Careless error. Overall the afternoon tea was lovely but care needs to be taken as whilst we do not have food allergies someone just may well have. Returning this weekend so hoping things are excellent."

"We were most disappointed with the new menu found it hard to choose anything Plus it’s written on sort if grey paper with the dim lighting could hardly see it. Wanted s quiet space to eat so chose the Thirties Room It had 3 tables I had requested the one by the window but was told to sit on the other one Half way through our dinner a waiter came behind us and pushed the other two tables together and a party of about 7 with young children rocked up Goodbye to our quiet dinner !!!! My partner has to ask for the music to be turned down as we arrived as the speaker was right above our heads We left after our meagre meal I could hardly believe the size of it and the price it was ridiculous We visit Farnjngham vintage inn quite a lot The staff weren’t friendly Thank god for the lovely Claire who we only saw at the end Who’s smiling face is always the same She saved the day for us We won’t be coming back Very disappointed indeed."

"Most disgusting food I’ve ever tried in my life! I’m not one to make a fuss and if I don’t like something I usually just grin and bare it but on this occasion I couldn’t. I refused to pay 30+ for 2 roast dinners which were inedible. Mystery meat which concerned me after trying, as well as rock hard cauliflower which was burnt on top! Also boiled cold parsnips and cabbage! An old persons paradise and don’t even get me started on the anaemic roast potatoes and watery gravy "

"My partner and I have been to the three legged cross numerous times over the past few years and we have never been disappointed by the food or the service. We attended last night for some 'couple ' time away from the kids and enjoyed every course we had. I particularly loved my pizza and begged to take the rest home which, of course, wasn 't a problem! The staff are always really polite and very efficient. Definitely one of my favourite places to eat or just to have a drink and unwind."

"Above average price, above average food, way beyond average portion s. I loved the pub and the vibe. Two main rooms one for family dining and one for pints and sports. Awesome food, some of the best tasting things I've had this side of the pandemic. Portions are huge, the lamb shank for example could feed 2 or 3 comfortably. The sides are delicious. Thoroughly recommend. Somewhat eclectic pint choices, but it has Leffe on draft Been in London for a long time and I've never seen that Belgian vibes."

"I'd give it 2.5 stars if that was an option. There are about 3 vegan options for a main meal, and they're the usual suspects lasagne, burger, and a curry that can be made vegan. I had the lasagne and my brother had the burger we thought they were both acceptable, but very average. There are pizzas here which could easily be made vegan with the option of vegan cheese, but this is not offered. Basically, if you're eating with meat eaters you won't starve, but you won't have a wonderful meal either."
"Arrived to find car park fairly empty but several cars arrived just after which was a good sign! Restaurant fairly empty too which was odd as we hadn’t been able to amend our booking so just assumed it was full? Seen soon after arrival and seated. Not the best table as by the toilets and the service entrance/exit but ok. Took a while for waitress to arrive so when she did we ordered drinks and mains. Drinks took a while to arrive which was painful as could see them on the counter! Food didn’t take too long and it was lovely. I had seabass and my partner has the pie. Pie wasn’t full which was a shame but tasty all the same. We decided to have dessert which was cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding. Cheesecake was a bit stingey in size but lovely. We both downloaded a free pudding voucher. Thought my drink was expensive £3:05 for a Diet Coke when two glasses of wine were £7:10? Waitress was lovely. She engaged with us and we had some banter which is rare these days. All in all a lovely meal"

"Lovely pub, it was busy when we went so wasn’t as quiet as I would of liked but that was to be expected on a Friday night and also nice to see. The setting is gorgeous and beautifully cosy with open fires and exposed beams. The food was really good, I had the house burger and it was very tasty. The girl serving us was pleasant and professional. She has mastered the ability to be attentive without being pushy or making us feel that we need to leave. I would both recommend the Beagle and will also be visiting again myself. Well done to all the team for providing a lovely atmosphere with good food and good service."
"Very disappointing. Waited about 50 mins for food even though it was not busy. While waiting we had to send a drink back as the glass was dirty. When food arrived they were tiny portions. Jus “as they called it” was definitely “ahhh bisto” with a tiny bit of flavouring added. Lasagne tasted like it was made with tinned Bolognese, both bisto and tinned Bolognese being tastes from childhood, were easy recognisable. Unfortunately, will not be returning. Food, in my opinion, was well below average."

"the restaurant is located in an old manor house, which is very large from the outside. the inner is lovingly rustic and the ambiente very relaxed. service was brilliant and the food was delicious. the best was that they never felt rushed to finish courses and could just relax. the ale was also top notch."

"First visit with friends for dinner 11 Nov 16: cozy open fire and comfy leather seats in the bar area. Decor a bit bland and basic throughout the bar and restaurant but the service was genuinely friendly and food was a fab surprise. The bar style menu belies the great food within. We had rib eye steaks and venison Wellington style and it got served to a 'wow ' factor. The food presentation and food was on par with more upmarket restaurants, and price competitive. Will go again and recommend. Keep it up. N Reindl"
"My experience with the staff's knowledge of veganism at this restaurant has been excellent. They were well-trained in understanding dietary requirements, which was reassuring. I have dined here about four times now, primarily because of the convenience of its location near my home. I enjoy being able to eat at a pub with a cozy fireplace. The pub offers a completely vegan menu, and the staff are happy to assist if you mention it. I have tried the burger and chips, a simple but tasty option, as well as the vegetable tart, a refreshing change from the usual vegan curry found at other nearby pubs. However, I wish that there were the option to add a side at no extra cost, as the main servings are quite small. I also found the sauce around the edge of the tart to taste like ketchup, which I felt was not the best choice for decoration; a red pepper sauce or red pesto would have been more suitable. I have also tried the soup and the Thai curry, both of which tasted reheated and were not worth the price. The highlight of my meals here has been the delicious puddings, particularly the chocolate torte and pecan tart. I would prefer the pecan tart to be served warm. Overall, these desserts are the best vegan options I have come across in the borough of Broxbourne. A meal at this pub, followed by a walk along the old and new rivers nearby, would make for a delightful day out."
"We received a warm welcome when we arrived at the restaurant, but were disappointed to hear that several items on the menu were not available, including pizzas, jäger huhn, shrimp, and scallops. Despite the limited options, we found other items to order. However, our waiter returned to inform us that calamari was also unavailable, forcing us to change our orders once again. The fish cakes we ended up with were dry and lacked flavor, overshadowed by excessive seasoning. When it came time for dessert, two of us selected dishes, only to be told that they were also unavailable. We felt bad for the staff, but were frustrated by the lack of options and the inconvenience it caused. This experience was not ideal, especially since we had brought our friends here to celebrate a special occasion. Unfortunately, we may not be returning to this restaurant in the future."
