"What a nice experience tonight! Unfortunately I am away for work during valentines day. Oblivious until I realised that would mean me dining alone on a celebrated night for couples. AWKWARD! Put on my big girl pants and headed to the closest Pizza express (club app is awesome- lots of discounts if you are a fan) because its a easy favourite. Had a laugh with the staff regarding my table for 1 situation. Food perfect- classic pizza express quality. Service was great and attentive and everything as needed, with all requests met with happiness. Asked for a takeaway dessert as Its nice to have a sneaky treat before bed.... but mid snack I realised this was the note the server gave me..... how lovely. We had a giggle on my awkward dining experience, we talked about how being women it's always difficult being out dining alone. But this blew me away! So Niesa (hope this is the right name) thank you for supporting the lady on table 27 at approx 8pm. You are wonderful, thoughtful and a great champion of the pizza express brand! Hope they reward you well for the exceptional service. Happy valentines day!"

"I've visited this place several times over the years, and as a Sardinian, it brings me immense joy to find my favorite beer from back home available. I relish pairing it with loaded cheese chips and ricotta croquettes. The focaccia was also a delight, delicious and wonderfully crunchy! The overall experience was fantastic, from the service and atmosphere to the reasonable prices. A noteworthy aspect is that it's pet-friendly, which adds an extra touch of warmth to the experience"

"Menu very limited, would have liked more meat and fish choices, also more vegetarian and rice dishes. Plenty of outside space was wonderful and choice of tables was lovely. However the table we were first shown to was overwhelmed with a disgusting smell from liquid presumably overflowing from blocked drains, which unfortunately ruined the enjoyment of our main meal, which we mentioned on several occasions, and were assured that repairs were in hand. We insisted on moving away from the reek for our desserts and had a lovely table in the garden. Staff were polite friendly and timely on the whole. Would visit again if menu was made more comprehensive and plumbing problems were resolved. A discount/refund for the inevitable spoiling of our dining experience would be appreciated, as our senses of smell and therefore taste were obviously negatively impacted."

"Amici London failed to live up to its reputation. Even though they have an amazing patio with heaps of sun, the service was terrible! It took a long time for our drinks to arrive and even longer (1+ hour for our food to be brought to the table (even though we pre-ordered . The rosé was very watery, though pricy. The salad I had was very dissappointing. I ordered a burrata salad which consisted of a piece of burrata, literally 4 cherry tomatoes, a little bit of rocket salad and some pesto on top (which tasted like the pesto from the supermarket . Very plain though I paid £13!! I 'm not an expert but the burrate wasn 't creamy at all (it tasted more like mozzarella and even though I ordered a main, they served me a small portion. When I checked the bill they charged me for a main-sized portion (I brought this up at the counter but they wouldn 't recognize my problem as this is just the portions they serve and no one has ever complained about it . We ordered coffee for dessert for which we waited another 30 minutes. When we decided to ask for the bill instead and leave the coffee (as we had another appointment to go to the waitress suddenly decided to make our coffees anyway which we then were forced to get as a take-away. The coffee beans were burned and we paid the price of a regular/large-sized coffee but got served a small one. We mentioned all of the above and made note of our negative experience at the counter but we had to pay full price and (more importantly didn 't even get as much as an apology! I respect it being busy and the staff being a bit rusty after just another lockdown but I have never experienced such a hostile response when bringing my negative experience to the table. Hence this review."

"Sunday 6pm service slow...had to keep waving for service....when we sat down we asked if the Tiramasu was available as we had a guest coming that was having ONLY that .....we were told it was available but when we ordered it were told it was still setting and not ready for another hour ! We were offered it on the house later but we had theatre tickets so that was that. Great food otherwise as usual....just need more staff or staff who are a bit more attentive at the table. There was a great big labrador shaking and licking itsself in the booth area near the kitchen which was a bit off putting..it wasnt a disability dog as far as we could make out. If you dont mind dog hair floating about while you eat then this wont bother you. Love the food here and this was the first below expectations visit at this venue in 12 visits"

"I love pubs! How many times do you hear that? I only properly discovered them 18 years ago because in France, although we have our cafes, they are nothing like pubs. I fairly quickly categorised them because when you think about it, they are all different. The best description for me for this one is a town pub full of character. I discovered it thanks to a friend and started going to hold a French Conservation group. I have only had drinks so far and believe me if you are after reasonable prices you have to go to the Gladstone. I have recently paid £2 in another place for a soda and lime. Here they charge you £0.30. And before you ask, no, it's not because it's served in a shot glass. When you enter the premises you will notice first the space. It has got room but you also can decide to sit in a smaller area. There is a fire place which is really nice especially at this time if the year. I went last Saturday to meet with a friend and we decided to have something to eat. If you want a night out but your are on restricted budget this is the place where to go. Ok the menu doesn't give you a massive choice as some do but in fact think about it, it won't take you too long to make your decision. The choice is good and the prices quite low. If you are vegetarian they certainly have thought about you. I am not but to be fair I've always wondered why the choices seem to be so restricted for those who are when eating out? I ended with the chilly beef and cheese. I like the fact you can choose to have it with rice or bread. The serving is good and I really enjoyed it. It was very tasty. The staffs work hard, are very pleasant and easy to interact with which is exactly what you want in a pub. It's a place with great atmosphere. And if you enjoy watching tv in a pub this is certainly the place where to go. It was a very reasonable and enjoyable night out. I'll be back!"

"I’ve dined at Over several times in the past, and it has always been spectacular. However, during my visit yesterday with my husband, we felt that the service and food quality had slipped a bit. The service was slow, and the wine glass arrived dirty. When we requested a clean glass, the waiter brought it to our table for us to swap out ourselves. This is something a restaurant should never do—they should apologize and replace the glass at the bar. As for the food, my pizza was great, but my husband’s Bolognese was a 7/10—it lacked enough sauce. Overall, the experience was okay, but not as excellent as it used to be. Will I return? I’m not sure."

"This place royally takes the biscuit. £20 for three slices of cheese cake, all of which were in a box on their lonesome, no ice cream, cream or anything with them and each slice being literally the length and width of my thumb! Almost £7 each for these mind .... I don't know if I should be annoyed or if its the most hilarious thing I have ever encountered. Pizza Express please sort this out and stop ripping people off. "Not sure what happened today, been nice when been previously but food poor and poor attitude of management. I had potato skins for starter, very greasy and undercooked. My partner had soup and was cold. I had chicken marershala for main. Had big lumps of unmelted cheese and couldn't taste the tomato, chips were also hard. When complained to management he said you were first customers of the day and chef might not have been awake. Nice attitude. We won't be going back"

"ouseburn has always been my favourite place in newcastle and I have spent many a day and night in the tyne bar. Today we ordered the nachos, hotdog and Vietnamese sweet potato fryers. wow, the food was absolutely delicious and generous in portion size and price. the hotdog was fantastic with such good smokiness and texture and the additionally fried tweepers on the summit were delicious. the nachos were served with a very nice homemade vegan cheese sauce and sour creamy chive dip, salsa and wobbles and garlic guacamole dips, while the Vietnamese sweet potatoes with such a great selection of delicious toppings were perfectly crispy. whether they are sitting inside or outside, I am sure they will enjoy their visit here with its great atmosphere and the personal and we will return soon."

"I had a wonderfully 21st century dining experience in this restaurant this evening; from being asked on arrival if I wanted to see the Vegan menu to being seated and asked if I had any allergies or special dietary requirements... I was told that my waitress would be either Beth or Sarah ? I never did find out which it was but that didn 't affect the quality of the food or service! then I was given a sensible amount of time to choose my food before an efficient and attentive if unknown waitress took my order. I ordered a bottle of Peroni Gran Riserva which was extremely tasty and started with crab arancini a new menu item which was delicate and flavoursome, especially with the addition of a squeeze of lemon, and then had a Diavolo pizza topped with spicy beef, pepperoni, green pepper, Tobasco sauce and a choice of hot pepper I had roquito with a side of broccolini tenderstem broccoli roasted with garlic and chilli which was perfectly cooked with a nice al dente crunch. I mused to myself that the broccolini should have been called scorpion stems as it 's certainly had a sting in the tale from the chillies ! and the pizza also knocked me backwards with its warmth, but I got used to it and it was very yummy. I had been expecting sweet roquito pearls but the more firey roquito peppers were a new experience for me. The entire meal was delicious I cleared every plate and it was easy to summon service so that I could get my bill and promptly pay and leave. The staff and especially the chef who took his time to come and explain to me that there was a difference between roquito peppers and roquito pearls, and that they used pearls on the salads. Personally, I think next time if I order another diavolo pizza, I will ask them to hold the Tabasco and swap the peppers for pearls but I can 't fault them for something I didn 't ask for! Bravo!"

"What I ordered was a basic Margherita with pepperoni AND Italian spicy sausage. So, I expected a pizza loaded with two full extras. What I got was maybe the equivalent of one extra topping, if that, and the meat looked the same. Certainly I could not see what I’m used to calling Italian sausage. It was very oily too, I could have poured off at least 1/4 cup of oil from the top. It tasted ok but I’ve had much better in New York, Paris, and back in Australia where Aussie Italians make superb pizza. And, despite being called Made in Italy they did not have Italian cola. Still, the French restaurant next door don’t do croque monsieur’s so go figure. They need to work on being faithful to the name. The cafe was bright and airy, the waitress was good, makes a change from the pub and is better than Pizza Hut. KW, Australia"

"Up the back of the mayhem that is Borough Markets you should be able to find the Pieminister' stall. If at first you don't find it ... keep looking ... I grew up in Engerland and now live in Oz' and pies' are very much...part of my heritage ... and diet! So ... take my word for it ... these are the BEST pies you will probably ever consume. The pies all have thoughtful' names ... there's a pie called Kevin', one named Heidi' ... and the more obvious Kate and Sidney'. (OK ... Kevin' is mushroom, tomato, red wine baby onions and thyme ... Heidi' is goats cheese, sweet potato and spinach ... and more obvious Kate Sidney' is Cockney rythmin' slang for steak and kidney As well as the K S' my favourite is the Moo' ... British beef steak and ale. There have pies for meat eaters, pies for vegetarians, pies for vegans ... and gluten free pies. You have NO excuse ... get down there ... fight your way through Borough Markets ... grab yourself the best pie you'll probably ever eat and gnosh it on the steps of Southwark Cathedral. "I’m always a bit hesitant when it comes to good Italian food, especially since trying it in Italy, but this place met my expectations really well! I had ordered Pasta all’Arrabbiata and it was delicious. The sauce was perfectly balances with the right amount of chilli, garlic and olive oil! My partner also really raved about their Diavolo pizza We liked this place so much that we went there again for our last meal in Edinburgh! Would definitely recommend! PS. "I picked up an order I had placed online, specifying gluten free. Unfortunately I received a phone call after collecting the order to say the gluten free doughballs I had ordered were not gluten free despite the allergen stickers on the box stating gluten free they did ring to let me know and promised a full refund, however I had eaten almost half the doughballs in this time. I am pregnant and gluten intolerant so looking forward to a night in the bathroom! Thankfully not coeliac so won’t be a hospital trip but please do better, Pizza Express. Allergens and intolerances need to be taken seriously. To anyone with an allergy I would either avoid or make triply sure that your food is what you’ve asked for, don’t go by the allergen stickers on the packaging."

"Absolutely love this place, we went for my sisters birthday, they were so accommodating for such a big party. Food was amazing, cooked perfectly and very tasty and all pretty much arrived at the same time, we actually got the chef to come out at the end so we could thank him personally. Lovely atmosphere, friendly attentive staff. Good value for money, highly recommended. As it’s in the Main Street there is no parking, however there are a few parking places around. Will definitely be going again!"
