"1 star for several reasons. Firstly hygiene. The person who served me moved from cleaning work surfaces with a dirty cloth and spray cleaner, straight to making my coffee and putting his dirty fingers inside the cups. Clearly instructed to wear gloves all the staff seem not to know that it is to protect the customers- not them. Secondly attitude. The coffee was served to our table but without sugar. When I asked for sugar I was told, “It’s up on the counter with the napkins’. All said with, ‘attitude’. If you don’t like the job try street cleaning, you may find it more rewarding. Thirdly. When I complained the apparent manager just demonstrated couldn’t care less skills. Lastly. The coffee was almost undrinkable. This cafe is adjoining Waitrose but separate. It serves some lovely food but because of the lack of hygiene, uneducated staff, and truck coffee, I will go elsewhere. Avoid it."

"While staying in the highlands we spent a day on the Isle of Skye. We had our quite large dog with us, so lunch needed to be somewhere we could accommodate him while we ate, and McKenzie’s Bakery, opposite the car park, had picnic benches outside we thought would work well. The menu is simple; sandwiches, salads and baked potatoes, not to mention tempting-looking cakes on display, as well as a decent selection of hot drinks. The queue, although out of the door due to local school lunchtime, was very swiftly dealt with, and no obstruction to a great lunch. We ordered three rolls (ham, cheese and chutney, and chicken tikka), which all came with fresh salad inside, plus a jacket potato with beans and cheese. The cheese was that lovely sharp tasting Scottish orange cheddar; the chicken tikka roll garnered particular praise from our teenage son. I had read to expect to pay a little more on Skye for lunch. It’s a tourist area and an island, and we’re fine with that. When I paid I was pleasantly surprised by the cost, about £24 for four lunches and hot drinks. The stream of local teens buying lunch in their school break is testament to this being a great place to stop."

"I have visited this restaurant several times and there always seems to be a consistent stream of customers. It was quite busy on the bank holiday, but I was able to sit inside and the noise level was bearable. The staff at the bar were very polite when taking our orders, and our drinks and food arrived promptly. The food was delicious, we ordered a Bodiam sausage sandwich, fish finger sandwich, and a sausage roll. I will definitely be returning in the near future."

"a small authentic inn / Pakistani cuisine. great prices, great taste and very friendly staff. sitting in front of dhaba is good and open air with some protection. is available. parking is difficult to find as in any city center, but if they already parked and to walk the opposite to explore, then it is a place to eat snacks or full-meal. the drinking are generous. vegetarian options are also available."

"Visiting Cardigan Wales today. we decided to drop into this Cafe at lunchtime to grab a quick drink and a light meal. My wife opted for a toasted tea cake and a cold drink I opted for Welsh rarebit with bacon and a coffee. The tea cake arrived extremely hot with the silver foil pack of butter placed in the middle of the tea cake consider the heat of the tea cake the butter had turned to a liquid mass and was just poured over the tea cake. I waited a further ten minutes before my rarebit on toast arrived. Extremely over done burned black and no bacon. I handed it back to the cashier she said I’ll fix that for you. Eventually it came back to the table where visually it looked a little better but I soon realised they had just scraped off the burned cheese and replaced it with more cheese the underneath of the bread now rock solid and burned. The bacon was thrown in and under cooked. It is just not good enough in my mind. This is my honest opinion and I’m sorry to say we will not be returning to this establishment Thanks"

"We were visiting Wiltshire on our family trip from London and we were recommended Marlborough for a visit! We came on Tuesday 12th September and it didn’t disappoint! We came across this lovely cafe! The staff were lovely and the food was beautiful! We did wait a little bit for the food but it was worth the wait! All the staff who were a part of our visit were kind and helpful, so thank you very much for that! Hats off to the wonderful chefs who cooked our food! My only suggestion my coffee was a little bit bitter but I don’t know if this was down to barista error or just that I didn’t like the coffee beans so overall a wonderful visit!"

"Our visit to Clatterin Brig Tapas at night was a delightful experience. My partner promised me that the sangria was fantastic, and the food proved him right—everything was absolutely delicious, with just the right amount of heat! We shared a variety of dishes, which transported us back to Spain, complemented by the lovely Spanish music playing in the background. Although the temperature outside was far from Spanish norms (it was -3°C), the restaurant was warm and cozy. Kudos to all the staff for a wonderful evening!"

"My second visit here, the first one leaving me distinctly underwhelmed. However this visit just seemed to go better. You go to the counter to order your meal and I was offered the opportunity to pay then or later. I had a spicy bean concoction with extra bacon and an Americano with hot milk on the side. My youngest had the spicy bean dish but without the extra bacon (he doesn't like bacon !?! , and a smoothie with beetroot and blueberries in it...I know it sounds horrific, and I personally loath beetroot, but to be fair it was ok. The service was by three red haired, cheerful and effective waitresses. The chef came and went just as effectively but seemed less cheerfull !! Good food, good service, and good value."

"We stayed at Millies for one night and can't fault it. The owner was out when we arrived but had sent a text with details how to enter and where to find the key for our room. The room was clean and tidy with a kettle and the usual teas, coffees, milk and Millie's chocolates. There isn't parking but we soon found on street parking, went out for something to eat in the evening and there was plenty of space when we returned. Breakfast was amazing, I had the full vegetarian breakfast and my partner had the full English breakfast there was enough to keep us going all day, and it was all freshly made. There was no rush for us to leave, and even though the tea room was closed when we left we were still able to buy some chocolates to take home delicious!"

"After walking round the woodland garden for an hour, we opted for lunch at the Bothy Tea Room. My wife and I both chose the Chicken and Bacon Caesar Salad. We picked a table and our meal was brought to us within a few minutes. To say that it was superb is an understatement- all the varied salad ingredients were lovely and fresh and the chicken and bacon elements were plentiful. I have a good appetite but struggled to finish it, owing to the generous helping of food. (But I persevered! . I would have loved to try the cakes, of which there was a varied and mouth watering selection, but I had no room left. Must go back. Staff were lovely and friendly."

"This charming British breakfast spot was so impressive that I had to return. I sampled their Scottish breakfast, which was unexpectedly hearty and satisfying from a tourist's viewpoint, as well as their fish and chips, which might just be the best I've had in the UK. I also tasted their poached eggs with smoked salmon, and the combination was truly excellent. A standout for me was the white chocolate fruit tart—absolutely divine! I highly recommend giving this place a try!"

"This is a great place to eat and the staff are fantastic as I was visiting on the and while I was up at the counter I had a seizure and the manager and assistant manager Jorge were very helpful. If it was not...for the help of all the staff our luggage would have been unattended for about minutes due to me collapsed on the floor, so I would just like to thank you all as I do not have much memory of what happened but I know for sure after my brain opperation on the I will be visiting your restaurant again to thankyou in person"

"Little loud. Place was packed, but they were very accommodating. Asked if we could come back in 20 mins- 30 mins, they reserved a table for us. The food was really yummy. Had fish, chips, and side salad. Everything is nice and fresh. Decent portion size. Like everything, everywhere, prices have gone up. But they've managed to keep it reasonable. We had ordered pudding, but had to leave before eating, staff very kindly boxed it for us to take with us. 1 bread and butter pudding, 1 apple crumble. Apple crumble lovely and soft, tasted delicious. Being picky I would have liked more apple. Parking: It can be awkward to find a space close by, due to popularity, and on a main road. But if you have patience, spaces open up. Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome. Child friendly menu. There are highchairs, room for buggies at the tables. There is baby changing table located in the disabled toilet. Wheelchair accessibility: The venue is on the flat, so easy to access and get around inside the cafe. Plenty room at tables for wheelchairs. There is a nicely equipped disabled toilet, high toilet, foldable grab rails, emergency pull cord."
"I just got back from one. wry beautiful afternoon tee in salty dog cafe. amazing friendly staff couldn't do enough. had my grandchildren with me (9 and 12) and instead of tee, wanted bananas and chocolate milk shakes. "L'Elysee is the perfect spot for a midday meal for those working in nearby offices or for anyone looking for a quick bite in the afternoon without settling for a generic sandwich. Their terrace offers a variety of delicious and nutritious hot and cold sandwiches, each generously sized. Customers can also choose from a selection of salads, with more than just a few basic options available. They can opt for a mixed greens salad or a hearty chopped salad with avocado. The standout items on the menu include the shrunken bun sandwich, which is far from the typical mass-produced fare. Give L'Elysee a try for a fresh and satisfying meal."

ENGLISH: A short walk from our hotel was this small coffee shop open for breakfast or brunch. A truly English place who serves the tipically English breakfast (sausages, beans, eggs and bacon) or bagels and a nice selection of sandwiches, but thay offering also a good assortment of sweety stuff as cakes, croissants and pancakes. The bill is quite high compared to what we Italians are used to, but these kind of big breakfasts lead to quietly skip lunch. As an Italian I want to add that I have drunk one of the best cappuccinos in my life, a creamy that I never drunk before. The place is run by young staff who does a lot of work, but waiting times could be improved."

"We were out on day trip to St Andrews was a lovely day and rather warm so we decided to grab a bite to eat what a mission that was , we totally understand with Covid about booking places to eat but sometimes you just get up and go . A couple of places not a chance of getting in or come back in 4 hours. Thankfully we found this lovely place. We had baked potato and blt the staff were wonderful so friendly polite considering there were some people who must have been affected by sun and it made them lose their manners. It’s so nice to find younger staff who have manners and can talk with people. We also had 2 pieces of their millionaires shortcake oh my goodness was the best we have ever had. So thank you for making our day trip more enjoyable with great customer service. Will definitely be back here. Thanks"

"Knowing this cafe well I am disappointed to be treated in the following manner after suggesting to one of my colleagues to meet here for a meeting and a coffee. My colleague 's understanding is limited and just needs a moment for explaination as they originate from a different country with English not as their first language. Imagine my surprise and which turned to disgust at the way we, as customers were treated when my colleague 's understanding was a little different and I was in the process of trying to explain. Due to my colleague having English as an additional language and for the purpose of the meeting they like to sit closer when I 'm explaining areas of the meeting to help their understanding. They moved a seat closer which unfortunately blocked a walk way and also where other chairs could not be used on a different table. (At this point this was not directly affected any other customer). I 'd like to state at this point I was aware and was in the process of encouraging an alternative and trying to help my colleague understand why we would have to rethink this. I also am very mindful that with English as an additional language this would take a little longer. Within minutes of my colleague sitting and before I could get a chance to rearrange or explain the difficulty of sitting where she needed too what I can only describe as an irate looking lady came storming out of the kitchen her words were not polite we were publically humiliated and told off with the following we can 't have the seat there and we 'd have to move it back as we were blocking the walkway . This lady 's mannerism 's were nothing but rude, passive agressive and quite frankly embarassing. This was in front of other customers. If you think that it 's clever to humiliate your customers in that manner when a mere quiet and polite request in a calm manner would have had the same result you are sadly mistaken. Your customers need to feel respected, warmly welcomed and accomodated. You made us feel unwelcome and unrespected. Your lovely waitress ensured we were able to be reseated. I 'd have a good look at how this was handled and regardless or whether this review is directed to the Owner or an Employee you need to ensure that this type of behaviour doesn 't happen to anyone else regardless of their background. Unlucky for you that I experienced this and lucky for you that my colleague doesn 't appear to have been phased by your clear disrespect. I am local. I will be sharing my experience with anyone who will listen. This is sad as I would like to praise the young lady who served us and accomodated us by assisting us to move to a larger table it was very apparent that our previous encounter had been noticed and this poor young lady was embarassed. This review is not directed at her whatsoever. I have always promoted what I thought was this lovely little cafe the food has always been lovely and I have never encoutered such rudeness. If you can 't work with people perhaps you shouldn 't work in hospitality. I will return again and do not expect to receive such an antiquated attitude and intolerance to other people and customers. Think before you act I 'd say read the situation and observe a little I appreciate that where the chair had been placed was not suitable I don 't appreciate being angrily spoken too and then publically humiliated unecessarily."

"In Kinross for a visit to local antique shop. Stopped off at Reminisce for some lunch with my two daughters and grandaughter. On entering we were welcomed' by a middle aged women whose fist remark was watch the chair on the wall its just been painted There was no offer to help make room for us and buggy. My daughters and myself were left feeling very uncomfortable by the way this women addressed us. We subsequently made the decision to leave returning the chairs we had moved to get in to their original position. A customer already seated said its ok we left this cafe due to the unsmiling unwelcoming rude middle aged woman who I think was the owner. If she wasn't and was the hired help if I was the owner I would sack her for demonstrating extremely poor customer relations."
