"It was my first time at this pub for lunch today with a friend. We both ordered the halloumi burger, coleslaw and chips, and a side of crispy hispi cabbage (which we didnt receive). Big mistake!!! My friend doesnt like advocado and I am allergic to mango. No mention of advocado or mango on the menu which is illegal. It is a legal requirement that all ingredients are written on the menu. Luckily, I had only put the mango on the tip of my tongue, which by the way tingled for quite a while after. I was lucky I didnt eat more of it as it could have been quite different. The menu needs to be re-written so that all ingredients are listed, so that no-one else has allergic reactions. On the plus side, the staff were apologetic and replaced our meals. They did offer complimentary desserts but my friend had to get back to work, so we declined. After this experience I will not be back. Just be careful what you order!!"

"Love the venue and have eaten here before and loved it so this is purely based on group menu. If you order off the normal menu you would not be disappointed. The staff are very friendly and polite but not as attentive as they have been previously as we kept having to ask for drinks orders. The room we were given was excellent with a roaring fire and doors to open if you got too hot. The table were set out in an n shape so you had your back to people. Arranging them in a square so we could sit around and talk to everyone would have been much better. As I understand it the chef was off so everything was prepped earlier. Starter was a few cocktail sausages, bread and olives. We had a buffet of two warmed up dishes that were edible but average tbh. Chicken and cream mushrooms with rice and a duck hot pot! Everyone seemed to enjoy the puddings. I expected more from a £40 per head menu not including drinks so was a little disappointed with this visit."

"Thought we would give this a go and what a let down. When we first arrived we stood at the bar and was just ignored wish that was as bad as it got we got showed to a table and just left no idea if it was table service or you have to go to the bar. After waiting for 15 mins and no-one coming back over we decide to go to bar to get drinks and order food. As we get up from the table and head to the bar a gentleman asked if we were waiting to be served when we said yes he said he would get someone to come over. This was a total surprise that he worked there as it looked he had just finished working on his car judging by the look of his clothes. But still no-one came over so this time we just asked someone walking past If we can order which she did and even then got one of the 2 drinks wrong. When the food arrived it just summed up the place the food was luke warm and I 'm sorry you can 't call it a roast potato when it 's the size of a marble. I wish we had just carried on up the a6 to find somewhere else."

"It started off well although I find it irritating these days that hosts do not indicate to you if table service or at the counter. Nice ambiance and once I had gone to the counter and ordered a ploughman's I thought great place. My latte was served. The ploughman's that arrived didn't quite look like the website photos. But had the cheeses. The pickles and chutney were a bit laim. Salad ok but the bread very doughy. Half way through my eating a dog was sick next to me. I Left.."

"We ordered toasties. We expected there to be two slices of bread per sandwich, but when they arrived there was only one piece. We thought this was the usual practice but then saw other people getting larger portions, so I mentioned this (politely) to the staff. However the server was adamant we were wrong (including an explanation of how to make a sandwich as if we were idiots). No apology was offered. Shan't be using this cafe again, which is a shame as the food we had was very tasty, the only reason we are giving it 2 stars instead of 1."

"I had a delightful dining experience for dinner at this restaurant, where the price per person ranged from £10 to £20. The food was exceptional, earning a perfect rating of 5 for its flavor and presentation. The service was equally impressive, also receiving a 5 for its attentiveness and friendliness. The atmosphere was inviting and created a pleasant setting for an enjoyable meal, which I would rate a 5 as well. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that I would highly recommend!"

"We (18 of us) were staying in the adjacent Morland House for a week and I was delighted to find that I could get a really good coffee just around the corner. The café is very popular and bookings are usually required for meals, but two of us were able to get seated for coffee and (amazing) chocolate cake. We found the staff very pleasant and efficient. The outdoor area has a great ambience and cool background music; indoors looked modern and comfortable too. Highly recommended."

"I hadn't visited this restaurant in quite some time, and after today, I have no idea why I don't come here more often. The view of the lake from the restaurant is fantastic. My friends and I all opted for the early bird menu. I had smoked mackerel with cheese, salad, and some bread, while my friends enjoyed broccoli soup with poppy seed cake and butter, followed by tuna and egg with salad. They also had steak pie filled with a generous amount of steak, which was delicious, and squid with chips. Three of us ordered the soft serve, and the apple and blackberry crumble with custard was devoured in no time. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. We will definitely be back!"

"my first visit to sweet greens and I know that this would be my regular caffe if I had lived closer. the curghetti with the seasoned tomato sauce was one of the best I have ever eaten in every raw food café and the lemon turmeric disc was very tasty and unique. this is a tiny caffe that is led by extremely beautiful people to a very high standard. highly recommended."

"I had a delightful impromptu birthday dinner here mid-week yesterday. The location is lovely, right by the castle and the River Medway. The menu offers a wide variety of options to choose from. We enjoyed our meals thoroughly, and the staff was both friendly and efficient. I highly recommend the generous seafood platter as a main course, and if you see the Cointreau chocolate orange cheesecake on the dessert menu, definitely go for it. Overall, a very tasty experience. A solid four stars! Well done, chef!"

"For Thai people who are traveling or working for a short period of time, this shop is highly recommended. I happened to find a nearby restaurant. The brothers and sisters provide very good service. You can tell by the taste of the food that you're asking for the taste of Thai people. Asked for more fish sauce chili. Very impressed."
"The first time I visited this place, I thought my GPS was screwing me: narrow road through the field in the middle of nowhere. But when I finally got there I fell in love with the place. A few centuries old pub with a soul. Rooms are nice and clean, beds are comfortable, and bathrooms are nice with hot showers. All you need for relaxing. Personnel is fantastic as well as guests in the pub, they instantly make you feel at home. On top of that, fantastic English breakfast in the morning. I'll definitely come again and I highly recommend this place."

"Came in for tea and coffee, and ordered two glasses of water. Since the water came in a very small jug, we soon asked for a refill to which we were told that we can’t just order water by an elderly lady and heavy eyeshadow. That same lady came up to our table with the water and started explaining that it’s wrong of us to only order the water (although we also ordered tea and coffee) and told us she will have to charge us for the water and the ice we did not at any point specify that we wanted tap water, so we were prepared to pay for it anyway. It was extremely embarrassing, as others were around. Perhaps our foreign accents have had something to do with it, either way it has left us very uncomfortable and upset at the condescending way we have been spoken to. All other staff were extremely lovely and polite, and even apologised for the altercation of the elderly woman."

"Take, for instance, the cheeseburger I ordered, which was topped with brie. I expect a classic burger to come with cheddar or American cheese, not brie, which suggests an attempt at sophistication that simply doesn't align with my expectations for a British pub. Then there was the 'Warm Chocolate Brownie.' When I asked the server if it came with ice cream, she confirmed it did. I imagined a soft, warm brownie topped with a scoop of ice cream. Instead, I was served a dry, lukewarm slice of brownie smothered in raspberry jam, with a scoop of ice cream awkwardly placed on top. It was quite disappointing. This is just another example of how the Filly Inn is trying to elevate its menu but fails to communicate this shift effectively and doesn't execute the dishes to a satisfactory standard. The menu itself is limited, and the offerings aren't impressive. On a positive note, the pub has a spacious seating area both indoors and outdoors, and they allow dogs, which is a nice touch. However, the food leaves much to be desired."

"I walked a mile in the rain to dine here, and I can confidently say that I would trek five miles in a snowstorm just for a meal like this. Every aspect, from the tea to the fresh bread, was spot on. Not a single spice was overpowering; everything was in perfect harmony. This was truly one of the best meals of my life and undoubtedly the finest food I’ve had in England. I entered feeling frustrated after a sleepless night on a train but left feeling like I could take on a bear. A flawless dining experience."

"The food at this restaurant is amazing and we were warmly greeted upon arrival. We made reservations for a large group in October and Helen did a great job communicating with us about our menu selections. The dishes were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully arranged. We loved the expansive dining space and the scenic views. The hospitality shown by Helen and her team was exceptional. I highly recommend dining here if you are visiting Mull!"

"Nice cafe, usually has a nice atmosphere. Sadly only one vegan option on the menu (a sandwich) and is was served with coleslaw which after asking we were told has egg and milk in it. I ordered the sandwich once and it had margarine in it. Not sure they really understand what vegan means! Not great. Vegan cake options are very unappetising. Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4"

"Felt a nuisance Asked for the egg in the hole to be poached and for it to be runny The two main breakfasts arrived first, average food, sausage over cooked and tasted of strong herbs. Different sizes of eggs on the two plates. My son felt out done. When the egg in the hole arrived (again different sizes of eggs) they had been fried. I explained to the Server that I had requested poached, only to be TOLD, you asked for runny! I was informed that they were baked, they weren’t as they would have had a “skin” on them and they didn’t, they were greasy. I agreed that I wanted runny eggs, but poached NOT fried. “So you want poached eggs then ?”, rude. This totally put me off eating and I declined. My husband and son ate theirs, I went hungry. Staff need a course in customer service We won’t be back."
