"We were in JAM in Sir Thomas Street, Liverpool now twice had promptly, friendly service in clean, bright environment. The coffee specialities are very welcome. 5 of 6 of us were vegetarian, we had a fairly limited choice, so one of us was disappointed that they would run out of Veggi Burger! She chose salad that was ok, but not ideal, chips that quickly disappeared! The Mushroom Risotto was really good. Two salmon table cakes as starter at about £5.50) seemed positively generous when compared to a very small goat cheese tartlet a handful of rocket salad as main £12 50) I wonder if the cook feeds for a day full of work?! Good work there was a pot of new potatoes. Only 1 x dessert ordered a veritable plate of bread butter pudding, on a rubbery black substance on top no evidence for even 1 stream or Sultana, neither the white chocolate on the menu promised. I don't eat Custard would like to have given some options. 2 x v. cold, hard strawberries did not do well. A mixed review, therefore we like your establishment some of the foods that requires some beautiful tweaking. The service was great, both from the kitchen at the table. We will take into account hope that our feedback that helps others make the necessary difference. P.S. I have submitted an application to your main office for parking information; it has never happened before, although I said that the one forum review mentioned some good parking nearby, but just don't say where!"

"From start to finish all we can say is Magnifique from entry to departure, the team members on duty went out of their way to be helpful and so knowlegable about the delicious shellfish dishes we wished to order. For starters we ordered Crab Claws which were delicious, if a tad tricky to negotiate opening them, but we perservered and managed to enjoy. For mains we both had scampi, my sister opting for Battered Scampi and I Breaded Scampi, and I sampled the Battered Scampi and never have I tasted such light Batter a joy to eat, and so fresh, you could taste the sea! All in all a most magnifique experience so thank you so very much Wayne and the other Owner sorry did not catch your name, and the nice lady who looked after us too. Simply thee best Speciality Shellfish dishes around!"

"Restaurant was OK. Everyone working there didn't seem happy, not a smile to be seen. It was like they didn't want to be there. Food was OK, but expensive for what you get, would compare to a Pub meal. Cocktails nice, but did make a Mojito wrong and had to be sent back. The Pre-Theatre Menu is best bet for value. Hard to recommend but great location for the Aldwych Theatres."

"I have been dining at The Talisman regularly for the past 6 years, but I was extremely disappointed with my most recent visit. The service was subpar, our drinks were incorrect, and the waitress seemed to struggle to understand us. We were never given the option of dessert, even after waiting for half an hour after finishing our meal. When we asked for coffee, we had to request the dessert menu ourselves. The waitress was inattentive, leaving us without drinks for extended periods of time. The chocolate fondue dessert was particularly disappointing, as the chocolate was watery and not at all fondue-like. This was by far the worst experience I have had at The Talisman. If you haven't eaten there in a while, I would suggest sticking to just having drinks."

"We have visited Empress of Blandings on a number of occasions for lunch and always enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately this Sunday´s roast lunch was below their previous fare cold plates, luke warm and bland tasting food nothing to shout about and disappointing. It is a lovely traditional pub with a warm welcome and very convenient for the M27. I am sure this was just an off day for the Chef and normal service will be resumed."

"Brilliant service and food. We were led by the porter. He showed us towards the restaurant. We sat fast and immediately was a server with us with menus. He explained what the fish of the day was. We ordered our appetizers and main thing and asked for wine advice. Our server brought the sommelier. He had already heard about our food choice and had his advice on his way. The wines he suggested were brilliant. You've paired with the dishes. The food was amazing. It tasted so rich and perfect. The best food we had in a while. Our server was friendly and polite. When it was time to order Dessert, the Sommelier came back to help us with a dessert win. He asked us if we knew how Dessertwine was made. He began an amazing story about different types of dessertwine and how they were made. He said it with enthusiasm. A man who loves his job clearly. It was worth a wonderful experience and time and visit."

"This place is quite unusual and doesn't seem to know its market. The food was decent, but nothing particularly extraordinary and was overpriced for what we received. The staff were pleasant enough. However, considering the price, food quality, and atmosphere, I wouldn't choose to dine here again."

"Had a meal here on a Friday night with friends, nice convivial atmosphere and lovely food and drinks. We enjoyed friendly, efficient service and really felt that Charlie went the extra mile to make sure we had a good evening. We really appreciate being...able to order a small reasonably priced starter otherwise would only normally order courses. If I'm being picky, I think the lamb medallions could do with a slightly more generous portion of mash which was smooth and buttery and lovely. I think the puddings are a little on the pricey side but appreciated that we were able to get some custard on request. I suggest it would be nice to be able to order ice cream by the scoop for smaller appetites. I'll make sure I pop back in the day time for that lovely coffee."

"A significant lack of communication from the kitchen to the house. The king shrimps I had were not detoxified during the prep and were served in a crazy fusion of chili in a white wine garlic butter consommé, which just tasted strangely. The cheesecake base on the menu so dense that you could not eat it and should be served with coconut ice cream, but it came with vanilla. No coconut left obvious and no explanation made before the order. The huge chips I had with my fillet steak were not cooked enough. And my piece of fillet (both cooked blue on request) was not the largest of steaks. A very overpriced place to eat for the missing Lustre food and service it delivered. We took the uneaten desserts out of the account, almost as if they did us a favor. I wouldn't recommend it or go back there. I don't care to pay these prices if the basics are correctly executed (food service)."

"Fantastic and we would definitely go again. Food was good.... Service was great! Couple of areas just for feedback. Gravy could have done with being a bit thicker (our personal taste) and probably in a gravy boat, rather than already over the roast. Any it did get rather noisy when all the tables were full. I believe there were quieter areas, so would request that area on our return. Other than that. Fantastic..... My family who had not been before were very impressed. (thankyou)!"

"The restaurant was nice on arrival, they took our order, the starters were lovely. Then we waited and waited for mains to be told chef list our order? We were given bread and padron peppers we didn’t complain. When the main arrived my friends chicken was red inside, she was fed up by this stage as it was getting late my friend and I were not impressed by the main hers was bland and mine had a funny sauce- didn’t compliment the fish at all. We were given a discount and a free drink but really wanted a nice meal. Think they need a better chef"

"Just few things that could be improved: Social distancing between service staff and dinners Waitress asked if my year old wants diluted drink instead of water times and I had to say no each time, at the end my year old asked for it and got it, I felt it was forced. You ask once and that's it!Main course fish was very small for an adult portion Kids main course spaghetti bolognese was way too dear for kids mainsAt the end when I went up to pay I was overcharged by but it was refunded when I highlighted itIt's a lovely place and food was tasty with great atmosphere but its the little things like this that brought down the points. But we will be back to give it another chance"

"I think this is actually one of my new favourite places to be! Have only been a few times but the food is delicious, the staff are very friendly and welcoming, the garden is lovely with all the lights and outdoor heaters and the cocktail trees are just amazing, and finally not forgetting they have a very cute dog Charlie that wanders around!! 110% definatly recommend this place and I will certainly be going back very soon!!"

"The White Tower is my favourite place to dine, even though I live 40 miles away from the venue, but make a point of eating there whenever I am in the vicinity.. The room is reminiscent of an American Lounge, sunken bar included, and the atmosphere is particularly romantic when the light outside the room is beginning to fade, and a pianist is in situ on the baby grand piano. The restaurant is particularly enjoyable during the Illuminations, with the panoramic windows giving a wonderful view down the Golden Mile. A Blackpool gem!"

"4 of us went for dinner tonight and were thoroughly underwhelmed. I'm generally more than happy to spend decent money on a good meal, but the experience we had did not warrant the amount on the final bill. Firstly, the menu recommended 3 main dishes per person, and it's just as well we ordered fewer as we would have had far too much food. And it could have been worse as the food itself was incredibly over-priced and average. Also, the toilets weren't clean (which was odd as we were one of only 2 tables being served for the 2 hours we were there). The highlight came when we ordered the wagyu beef burger, which came with bacon on it despite this not being listed on the menu. One of our party doesn't eat bacon, and so we asked if we could get a fresh one without bacon, but were told we'd be charged for the 2nd burger. When we said this didnt seem right, our waitress went to check and returned with the same answer. It was only once we asked to speak to the manager that they agreed to bring a new burger without the bacon (and I presume they threw away the original one). There are plenty of other places to eat in Shoreditch at this price that are far superior, so don't waste your time"

"Afternoon tea was booked at this hotel as a birthday gift by a friend. I had driven over 100 miles on the hottest day of the year and had skipped breakfast and lunch in anticipation of a lavish afternoon tea at 2pm. What a complete...let down. And a total rip-off. We arrived on time although the parking situation presented a challenge so we checked in five minutes late. We were shown to our table and asked if we wanted drinks. Er, no, we’ve come for afternoon tea so that’s what we will have please. He left us with menus but never came back. After twenty minutes of sitting in a stifling hot and airless dining/tea room where staff were milling about but not paying attention to the handful of guests, my friend donned her face mask and got out of her chair to go across the room and approach one of them to ask for us to be served. The waiter then came over and took our order asking if we had any dietary requirements. My friend had already provided these on the reservation but no matter, we stated them again. She’s vegetarian and I don’t eat red meat. Noted down by the waiter. The tea pots arrive…beautiful but impractical silver that is heavy, red hot and awkward to lift and pour without burning your fingers. Bizarrely, my choice of the usually light and refreshing Earl Grey tea was dark and stewed, metallic and tannin tasting. Quite revolting. On to the food, eventually a small two-tier cake stand was delivered to our table dressed with a selection of miniature scones (the smallest pot of cream and jam between us both that you could ever imagine), two lemon possets and some bite-sized sweet treats. On the bottom level were just four tiny finger sandwiches at each end; meagre and unimaginative fillings for those who don’t eat meat, and nowhere near enough food for my all-day nurtured appetite. But they were fresh at least. There was also a slice of pie and for my veggie friend a light cracker thing with wasabi paste on it. I asked if the pie slice was pork. The waitress said yes. After some discussion with her about our dietary requirements she said “shall I take it away then?”. By this time I’m seriously feeling the irritation. I’m hungry, thirsty and hot, and this is almost a bad joke. If it hadn’t been for the fact that my friend booked this tea and I was embarrassed at the impact it was having on me, I would have simply stood up and walked out. The cake stand was taken away and returned with the pork pie removed and another cracker thing in its place. By this time it was almost 40 minutes after our arrival and this was our lot…for an eye-watering £30 each (plus a cheeky service charge added). I was outraged at their audacity to charge that much money for such slim offerings, vile stewed tea and appalling service. I mentioned to a waiter about the lack of savoury options and my horrid pot of tea and asked for it to be changed; he suggested English Breakfast tea. That came and was just as bad; like builders’ tea that you could stand your spoon up in. I was so fed up and in fear of completely blowing a fuse I went outside for five minutes to calm down. When I came back in I had composed myself and decided to accept things as they were rather than make any more fuss as it was ruining the whole afternoon and unfair on my friend. On my way in I politely asked the waiter for a simple tea bag and hot water. He reluctantly obliged saying they are not actually allowed to serve tea bags. I said I didn’t mind and that was what I wanted. A bog standard tea bag in a teapot of hot water and a fresh cup and saucer arrived. Bliss, at last, a refreshing drink. How the hell can they get brewing tea so wrong? I suspect it was pre-prepared and standing in tea urns but they insisted it was fresh. To be fair to the waiter who dealt with my complaining he was patient and kind, seeing how upset I was and did his best to placate me, bringing a small savoury something extra. It wasn’t his fault that the kitchen were delivering this pitiful tea and I would like to say thank you to him for diffusing my bad mood; your excellent customer service skills are wasted in this hotel. I’m going to The Ritz in London for tea in a few weeks’ time which although is £55 each, I know I’m guaranteed a wonderful afternoon in an ambient setting, with impeccable and attentive service, a decent cup of Earl Grey, my dietary requirements met and as many sandwiches as I would like to eat."

"This location is very close to home in our town and has a very troubled history with various establishments in and out, even though this is Trumbull Center. When Bianco Rosso came in we were skeptical, as all of the former restaurants were nothing special. Well, this time it is VERY different. The updates decor is nice, while it is still a bit of a smaller place. The drinks were perfect, and we have particular demands. The apps were awesome and they split our salad when we just mentioned we were sharing that, which is a nice touch. The entrees were fantastic (beef short rib and the lamb shank), and the pistachio-chocolate desert was one of the best I ever had. This time the place should stick, despite a notoriously problematic landlord. We had a pleasant chat with the new proprietor and wished him very well. We were VERY impressed!"
