"From start to finish all we can say is Magnifique from entry to departure, the team members on duty went out of their way to be helpful and so knowlegable about the delicious shellfish dishes we wished to order. For starters we ordered Crab Claws which were delicious, if a tad tricky to negotiate opening them, but we perservered and managed to enjoy. For mains we both had scampi, my sister opting for Battered Scampi and I Breaded Scampi, and I sampled the Battered Scampi and never have I tasted such light Batter a joy to eat, and so fresh, you could taste the sea! All in all a most magnifique experience so thank you so very much Wayne and the other Owner sorry did not catch your name, and the nice lady who looked after us too. Simply thee best Speciality Shellfish dishes around!"

"The restaurant is always bustling with chatter, so be prepared for some noise. However, the food and service are top-notch. They were very accommodating of dietary restrictions, asking about allergies and any special food needs. Parking is limited outside, with only a few spaces shared with the antique shop and paid parking. There is additional roadside parking and a larger car park nearby, both also requiring payment. The average price per person is between £10 and £20."

"I recently tried out an incredible new restaurant located in the lively area of Covent Garden. I ordered the tender and flavorful beef brisket, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The restaurant also had a great variety of wines to choose from and exceptional service."

"We have visited Empress of Blandings on a number of occasions for lunch and always enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately this Sunday´s roast lunch was below their previous fare cold plates, luke warm and bland tasting food nothing to shout about and disappointing. It is a lovely traditional pub with a warm welcome and very convenient for the M27. I am sure this was just an off day for the Chef and normal service will be resumed."

"Originally gave this place 5 stars, but clearly management care more for profit than customers. Scrambled eggs toast Chorizo went from £8 to £13 overnight and no change to what you get. Spanish breakfast gone £11-£16 and ingredients simplified, get better one from cafe for half the price. Was a regular here every Saturday for lunch. The chef and staff are lovely and I feel so sorry for them. Was the meal we looked forward to each week. I understand prices have to rise, but 50% in one day, crazy. £10 for a basic scrambled eggs on toast... Maybe they thought it had gold leaf on it? No idea. Soo unfortunate and disappointing ."

"A significant lack of communication from the kitchen to the house. The king shrimps I had were not detoxified during the prep and were served in a crazy fusion of chili in a white wine garlic butter consommé, which just tasted strangely. The cheesecake base on the menu so dense that you could not eat it and should be served with coconut ice cream, but it came with vanilla. No coconut left obvious and no explanation made before the order. The huge chips I had with my fillet steak were not cooked enough. And my piece of fillet (both cooked blue on request) was not the largest of steaks. A very overpriced place to eat for the missing Lustre food and service it delivered. We took the uneaten desserts out of the account, almost as if they did us a favor. I wouldn't recommend it or go back there. I don't care to pay these prices if the basics are correctly executed (food service)."

"We arrived on time at 17:45 told all staff that we were going to a play, at 19:30. The service was slow, abominable totally unacceptable, resulting in us having to cancel desert, as we had to go. We told the staff this told them that we weren't paying the service charge. The restaurant wasn't overly busy at the time [as it only opened at 17:30], so it's difficult to pinpoint why service was so slow completely sub standard."

"The restaurant was very busy. We were given a warm welcome.Menus came quickly. The service was fairly slow and only 2 glasses of water were delivered to the table with the other drinks. The food was tasty with good sized portions. There were no pizzas as there was a problem with the oven. (Repair was in hand) After the main course no one asked us about dessert. When the menus came and a sweet was ordered it just didn't come. We reminded 3 different waiters before it came! The same with the bill!. The restaurant is good but they seemed under a lot of pressure when busy. I also felt there had been a big increase in drinks prices. Cheapest red wine£8.50 for a 250ml glass."

"A lovely pub, large car park, roaring fires, dog friendly, great friendly service. The food was delicious, we both went for the pie and mash and it was top notch! Plenty of gravy too. There is a beer garden too which looked pretty big. It's on a 2hr circular walk, which is why we chose it. Dietary restrictions: Each item has a coded dietary notice. Very clear! "Had a meal here on a Friday night with friends, nice convivial atmosphere and lovely food and drinks. We enjoyed friendly, efficient service and really felt that Charlie went the extra mile to make sure we had a good evening. We really appreciate being...able to order a small reasonably priced starter otherwise would only normally order courses. If I'm being picky, I think the lamb medallions could do with a slightly more generous portion of mash which was smooth and buttery and lovely. I think the puddings are a little on the pricey side but appreciated that we were able to get some custard on request. I suggest it would be nice to be able to order ice cream by the scoop for smaller appetites. I'll make sure I pop back in the day time for that lovely coffee."

"Last Sunday I went for lunch at 81 Beach street and it was a most enjoyable experience, partly because of the food and partly because of the warmth and charm of the staff. I had the roast beef (as did my friend) and we both agreed that it was delicious. I particularly liked the fact that the accompanying vegetables were served separately on a 'sharing platter ' as I really don 't like plates heaving and overflowing with food. I then had cheese cake which was OK but I really liked the ice cream (homemade, I think) which came with it. The staff were LOVELY...when I mentioned I was in Deal to visit a friend who was quite ill and in a wheelchair how much he would have loved to have come to the restaurant for lunch. They couldn 't have been nicer about it and, although they actually don 't have wheelchair access, promised that all the staff would help to get him into the restaurant and look after him. Also they suggested times when the restaurant would not be too full so they could properly look after him. How nice! I will definitely go there again."

"Enjoyed a dinner for two last Saturday night. There was a good number of tables serving couples and small groups and then one large table of or so. Good atmosphere, lovely decor. Starter and mains were slow coming but myself and hubby were not in any rush so this was not a complaint for us. Food was very tasty for starters we the ham hock with nice pickled veg and the ribs which were a very generous size. Mains then fillet steak surf turf and ribeye steak, both cooked as ordered and we found the sides of fries and veg good. Dessert then we shared the triple chocolate gateaux which was delicious. Overall very good meal"

"My wife and I visited English's for a dinner. You are served a small bread roll and a small portion of fish pate to start. My wife likes Oysters so decided to order herself half a dozen before the starter and main course. I asked if I could have an additional bread roll whilst my wife consumed her Oysters and this was granted. We were then served our starters and main course which were fabulous. We both finished with a dessert and asked for the bill. To my horror they had charged £1.35 for the additional bread roll. Bearing in mind this was a £200 bill and I am not hard up for £1.35, I just found it so penny pinching. Bear in mind there is also a £2.50 cover charge per head 12.5% service charge (the £2.50 also gets charged the 12.5% . The waitress agreed to remove the fee for the bread roll and an after dinner drink as an apology. We accepted the charge to be removed but declined the nightcap as the damage was done. Do not misunderstand because this is a lovely restaurant and excellent food but the penny pinching for the extra bread roll just ruined the experience for me. I would have given them a score of 5 but downgraded to a 4"

"The last time we visited this restaurant was about 3 years ago, and we had a very different experience. The French onion soup was average at best, and I have definitely had better. My wife ordered the garlic "king prawns," which were obviously previously frozen and far from being king prawns. We both ordered the roast beef, which at £17 seemed like a good deal compared to other highly rated restaurants in Canterbury. However, we soon realized why it was so cheap. The honey roast carrots were undercooked, the beef was overcooked, the Yorkshire puddings were burnt, and the cabbage and the £46 bottle of Merlot we ordered both tasted like vinegar. The service was excellent, but unfortunately, the food was not up to par, and we will not be returning."

"First time eating here. Sat outside overlooking the bay. Beautiful views. Food was very nice. We had 2 courses for £15. My boyfriend and dad had fish of the day which was cod. Batter looked hot and crispy and not greasy. My minute steak and fries was really nice with my mam having chicken in sauce. The Gruyerre souffle for starters with beetroot puree and fennel was beautiful. Would eat here again"

"I’ve been a fan for a long time of the Looking Glass for some of the best cocktails in town and one of the friendliest venues. And once again the owner-manager Will, did not disappoint me. Drinks were as good and carefully crafted as at the Looking Glass, the service was impeccable and attentive, and the food full of very pleasant surprises. I’ll definitively keep on coming back. Edit: just had another dinner here, and loved it!"

"We spent two nights at Wilton Court, enjoying bed and breakfast along with evening meals. This establishment is exceptionally well-managed, providing a warm and professional service from check-in to check-out. The public areas and bedrooms are not only comfortable but also beautifully decorated. All the front-of-house staff are helpful and friendly, and our experience suggests that the same goes for the behind-the-scenes team as well. Housekeeping is commendable, and the chef and kitchen staff deliver excellent quality meals. Having stayed for a night several years ago, we were excited for this return visit, and once again, we were not disappointed. There were no unexpected charges on our bill at checkout. We highly recommend this place for a short stay of one or two nights. We appreciate the variety of locally sourced produce used, which is also reflected in the wine list. One last note: it’s refreshing to find a country hotel with reasonably priced drinks at the bar."

"our evaluation reflects an important thema we have experienced with eating. the beginning of the day dish (lemon sole) was served very underoccupied (e.g. at places). the chef had left the restaurant in the time, this became evident that the waiting staff to complete the cooking of the fish. they did their best, but it was burned on one side. when they had returned the court to our table, all the other members of the party had finished their meal. for a specialized fish restaurant to serve uncooked fish is unpredictable. we had also expected a warm welcome from the chef (owner) as the restaurant has its compact size and interactive culinary experience. the chef hasn't told anyone a word, even when he ran through the restaurant when he went early. there can be good reasons why this was the case, but no one has explained something to us. there was no desserts or coffee available and we left the feeling, the entire meal was an inconvenience for the owner. the waiting staff did their best and was certainly not to blame for what was a bad overall eating experience. a low price reduction was offered, but this was not a cheap meal."

"Great service authentic fresh clean food, reasonable prices for quality all round. I recommend Rhythm Kitchen and I will eat here frequently and tell all my friends. Keep doing what your doing ! it's clear management are effective as staff morale is high and as a customer I was well received by Cora and all other staff I engaged with including the manager. I can't find any negative to outline. A truly positive experience to be repeated well done!"
