"Wow where do I start with this country pub. We came here a couple of weeks ago for a group meal, the food was fantastic, the pub was clean and the atmosphere was perfect, however one thing that stood out to all of us were the staff. The loveliest girl and owners behind the bar and doing the waiting, so helpful, cracking sense of humour and just went that extra mile to make our already fantastic evening that extra bit special, they really looked like they loved their work which was so lovely to see and says so much about this pub. We will all definitely be returning in the future. P.S highly recommend the pork cutlet! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"I discovered this place about 6 months ago. Decided to nip in and try one of their specials, which appear on the wall each day (I check them out via Instagram before I go down and visit). This is how to eat healthy! The combination of flavours and the mix of healthy ingredients makes this not only one of the healthiest lunches around but the tastiest. I would quite happily pay a few pound more for the portion size. If I lived a bit closer, I'd visit this little gem every day for lunch. For now though, it remains as a treat. Highly recommend this place."

"idyllic location, not too far from the beaten, but enough to be peaceful and relaxing. well ordered, clean, friendly and helpful teamworkers combine to make a very happy experience. our first visit so only a fast coffee and cake, but the coffee was excellent with a perfect cream and only the right starch. kuchen? very good and a reasonable size for the price. personally I would have the lemon meringue pipe a hauch less sweet and more. the lemon smoke the woman tasted more lemony, but also so it was excellent. we're coming back."

"It is by far the best restaurant in Reading! I have been several times as I used to live in Reading and I still go every time I visit the city, because it is in my opinion the best choice. The quality of food is outstanding and you can really feel the authentic taste of Brasil through their traditional home-made dishes. I definitively recommend the Fejoada and the freshly prepared fruit juices, but I have to say that all the dishes I had were always beyond my satisfaction: incredibly tasty! Also, you cannot leave Pau Brasil without having an espresso (the unique coffee I have ever liked in Reading) with a Brigadero (a delicious chocolate small ball which melts in your mouth). The staff is very kind, always helpful and friendly. Since the first time, I was there I felt like at home. The atmosphere is cosy and familiar with relaxing brazilian and portuguese music. The owner is not only an excellent chef but also a fantastic host, always offering everybody the warmest welcome! In Pau Brasil, you can also buy some genuine brazilian and portuguese products so to bring with you at home a piece of your wonderful experience there.Pau Brasil is a must in Reading! Do not be discouraged that is a bit out of the main town center, it is perfectly reachable by a 20 minutes walk from the center and it is absolutely worth more than a single visit!!"

"I received a recommendation from a shopkeeper in Hartington that instead of paying for parking at the NP carpark, I could enjoy tea and cakes at the tearoom and park for free. Sure enough, there was a sign that said "spend a penny with me and park for free"! I bought a takeaway cup of tea for my thermos and headed off along the Manifold Trail, knowing I was welcome to park for as long as I liked. After three hours of walking, I treated myself to a delicious slice of Banana and Pistachio cake and a hot chocolate (from a machine, but still good). There was also a small gift shop with postcards and local crafts to browse through. The service was friendly, and I found it to be a great deal to be able to park for free in exchange for a drink and snack that I would have bought anyway. Note: Parking is free with purchase from the tearoom."

"The wife decided that we were going out for tea, I left it in her hands and we ended up here. Well we have been before but not for a long time and we both said that we forgot how nice it is. The staff for a start were friendly and accommodating, attentive but not intrusive. Lovely atmosphere and then we sat down. The wife had already checked out the menu so we ordered drinks and then we ordered food straight after. I opted for the homemade chilli with rice and chips (1/2 and 1/2) a side order of onion rings HOMEMADE and Delicious. And a side salad, again delicious. My daughter ordered a burger and asked for it plain with mash and veg. My wife ordered the chicken stroganoff and said it was beautiful. My chilli was great with just enough heat and packed with flavour. After this we had puddings and I don't normally do pudding but they had spotted dick and custard so I had to have a dabble. The wife had the homemade cheesecake and the daughter had the Chocolate waffle. We all enjoyed these puddings and the only complaint I had with the spotted dick was, there was not enough of it. All in all a great dining experience in a lovely friendly atmosphere. I didn't take any pictures this time as I didn't take my phone but rest assured everything was spot on."

"on Friday 17th juni, I came to the afternoon with friends. we arrived on time, but waited for 10 minutes to sit, as the waiter had already dealt with someone. it seemed to be personal everywhere, but not much done or people are seen (there were two young people looking for a lighter place?! we were finally sitting and given menus. 10 minutes later, someone came to take our beverage order, the same guy who sat us. He must have been the only one who actually works. he must have forgotten the drinks, not surprising that he is the only one who works, as we had to follow the order 10 minutes later. the same chap came with our drinks shortly after and was very apologetic. the guy who was to see us was nice, it was the service speed of all the others who did not seem to help him what was poor. overall eating was nice, the service, not so."

"For those working in education, summer is always a time of change and goodbyes and this year was no exception. After a meal at Esteban earlier in the week I found myself out again with colleagues to say goodbye to God (my work colleague not the omnipresent deity, though they have been mistaken in the past). So, on an exceptionally warm July evening, I entered Il Forno on Duke Street along with God and ten other disciples. Service from the off was very good and, in the comfort of the waiting area, we were offered antipasti nibbles and a Morretti beer whilst we waited for our full complement to arrive. “So, on an exceptionally warm July evening, I entered Il Forno on Duke Street along with God and ten other disciples” Some short time later we were escorted by our waiter, Salvatore (more of him later), into a large bustling dining room. We were seated along the window on a slightly cramped banquette, though this was our own fault, not the restaurant. I always find it funny how groups arra"

"We were sitting have a good night, till the manageress (I think), came over and turfed me off my chair. She said it was for health and safety. I said I needed the chair for my own health and safety. She laughed at me and said, only if I had a health issue, which she said she didn't think I had. I told her I have lung disease, then she's said it's policy so I had to move. She was soo rude we just left our drinks that we hadn't even started on yet. I get her point but I needed that chair. Plus if it was for health and safety then why was the tables left and a tall stand with a little Christmas tree on? It's not the first time she's been rude to me. I didn't get her name but I've been told she's the manager. She was short about 5 . Blonde."

"My friend and I spent the afternoon in St Agnes and had a reservation for 7 o'clock at the Fitty Pysk. However, we started to feel hungry well before then so asked if we could bring our booking forward to 6 o'clock. Not a problem, which made us very happy. The restaurant is approached by some fairly steep stairs but once at the top you realise that this provides a brilliant view of the bay. Inside, we were given uninterrupted views of a beautiful evening sunset from our table. It was difficult to choose from the tempting menu but eventually we both opted for the rum and ginger slow roasted pork belly, with seasonal vegetables. It's no exaggeration to say that it was divine, crispy crackling, melting fat and succulent meat. A very well-presented dish, very tasty; my only criticism would be that the vegetables were a little al dente for my personal taste but the pork was definitely the star of the show. Amazingly, we both decided on a pudding- this was reckless abandon as we were quite full and both on diets! Delicious frangipane tart for me and a chocolate pud for my friend. It was a bridge too far but had to be done, washed down with a half pint of delicious still cider brewed locally. The whole experience, the setting, ambience, service and food was a lovely end to my holiday and I hope to revisit next time I'm in Cornwall visiting my friend and seriously investigating the pub side of the Driftwood Spars, particularly the local cider."
"Afternoon tea Good points: The food was fresh and of good quality, they had listened and followed our requirements. The food was tasty and the taste combinations good. The quantity of food was also very good. Downside: Wish we could have eaten in the garden area or the terrace, when asked we got told this wasn’t possible. But couldn’t see a reason why this wasn’t possible. Ag the very least an area set for tea parties would have been more desirable and we would have returned if the garden was an option. Cutlery, tea cups and tea pot were all very low quality and that you would expect at an old persons home or hospital. No offer of what type of tea we would like either. The elderflower drink tasted like sparkling water with a touch of elderflower cordial this could be improved. Staff weren’t ready for our arrival and stated “sorry we’ve been busy” but half the restaurant was full. The atmosphere was lacking. No offer of anything else. Lacking some finishing touches and details but was ok."

"Stopped here on a bike ride. Pub did not disappoint. Beer and food were amazing. Cheddar ploughman’s had tasty fresh produce and looked like home made bread. Menu was not long but all looked home made and some had a waiting time of 20 mins (the menu told you this). Definitely dog friendly."

"The meal was delicious and the service was fantastic. We started with the nachos and calamari, which were both very tasty. The nachos could have used a bit more flavor. The waiter was friendly, helpful, and attentive without being overbearing. They provided great recommendations for food. We arrived after 5:30 and enjoyed drinks and appetizers outside before being seated at a perfect table. We tried the hoisin duck pizza, which was recommended, and it was delicious although a bit dry. I would give the pizza and nachos a 4/5, but the excellent service warrants a 5-star rating. They are dog-friendly and have a cute little snowshoe dog named Milo. Our dog was able to relax at our table without any issues."

"We won free tickets to a comedy night it. When we got there and spoke to people it seems everyone had WON free tickets to fill the venue. That's fine but if you are struggling to get people into your venue advertising other than fb might be a good idea and details of what food you do a menu price list etc. That a side we were greeted by a very pleasant young man and seated we then queued 30 mins for our first drink by which time we were told the food was no longer been served we and others were in a queue for food eventually they decided to serve the food it was only pie and peas but to their credit the pie was wonderful and the gentleman who served it very polite. Furniture was then rearranged tables moved people asked to move why this had not been done earlier was baffling. The Comedy act started !!! The first act was a magician ?! The bar closed ?? I can understand them not wanting people moving about on a comedy act but at least have table service. 45 mins later bar opens for 15 mins still waiting to be served after standing for 20 min . Some young men in front wanted to double up on there drinks and were told one drink per customer wow surely if you have let everyone in for free and fed them you would want to make money at the bar, The bar had two staff on a young girl who was clearly new and knew where nothing was or any prices. They were badly stocked and the Bar manager so obnoxious and her customer service was deplorable. The bar closed again!! We sat through the second act which was dying on its feet we then left as we in 3 hours we had had two drinks and experience the worst kind of service. The management at The Town Hall need to concentrate on one business and if they are having an event make sure they are prepared for it and maybe invest in some stock and experienced staff. We would love to try The Townhall again only not while these people are in charge. The icing on the cake when we were leaving was the compare asking people who were visiting the bar to take with them all their empties!!! The plates from our food were on our table all night no one removed them."

"Whatever you need, garden , indoors or outdoors these guys have got a lot to offer. There's plenty of parking and easy access for wheelchairs and open space as you're walking around. Plants, flowers, seeds, composts, garden tools of every variety to help those green fingers. There's wood for fire starting, BBQ's, and outdoor furniture to lift the look of your backyard. All your birthdays are covered with all sorts of gifts for interior decor, birthday cards, jewellery and much more. Definitely worth visiting if you're near Exmouth or Budleigh Salterton. There's a cafe to rack up your calorie count for the day with a choice of food on offer. I had a latte that was pretty bad, and we had fairy cakes with mock cream. They've got their Christmas stock and gifts instore now which will help to make those Christmas gifts easier to choose from."

"Sadly, they weren’t open on Sundays when we visited Dartmouth, but were so pleased that we visited on two other days. My husband visited first, chose a cake, which was delicious, and was given another as they still had an assortment left over and it was heading for closing time. We headed there for breakfast the day we were leaving Dartmouth; lovely welcome, good choice of pastries, and when we next visit Dartmouth we’ll definitely head their way. For anyone unsure where to find them, they are close to the market."

"I absolutely loved this charming little restaurant! The homemade traditional food was delicious, and the desserts were amazing. The staff were very friendly and polite, and you could tell they take pride in their work. It truly is a hidden gem. I will definitely be coming back and recommending this place to my family and friends. A big thank you to the staff, they have done a fantastic job. I especially enjoyed the homemade preserves and honey. The service, food quality, and atmosphere all get a perfect score of 5. The price per person for a meal is between £10-20. I had a wonderful lunch experience here. Can't wait to come back!"

"We were staying a short walk away from this pub. There are two pubs close to each other but this came recommended by the owner of our B&B. First visit was only for a quiet drink and landlady was very welcoming. They have homemade pie which is very popular. We returned the following evening to eat and wasn't disappointed. I had cheese flan, light with a lovely thin crispy pastry. Home cooked chips with side salad. My partner had the steak and ale pie, again all home cooked. Empty plates say it all. Would return to this friendly pub in a friendly village"
