"Thoroughly enjoyed by visit to Betty’s at Northallerton. Loved the bright and open layout inside, seating and atmosphere was very incoming and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful and all wore masks. Hands sanitiser was available in various places and the facilities were stunning and spotless. Food was also excellent. I had the fried haddock with fries, which was thoroughly enjoyable. Fries and batter were golden and fish was moist. Neither were oily. Crushed peas were the star of the show to me though with a punchy flavour (undertones of mint but not too much). Overall the dish was fresh, flavourful and well presented. Desserts were excellent, as you might expect. Brown Bread Sundae was a stand out for me. Breakfast tea was exactly what I was after. Full bodied and very strong. Perfect partner for the fish and fries. Overall, great experience. Would go again."

"We been looking for fresh bread and pastries for a time and we found Loaf via Google, when we arrived you are greeted by lovely friendly staff. They have great product knowledge and very helpful, there is so much choice of breads, cakes, hot pastries. The menu is lovely and works around its fresh products, the prices are great. We are currently working throught their hot pastries cabinet which I have to say is too quality and oh so tasty. The breads are lovely as are the scones, tea cakes we always come away with a bag full of goodies. This is now our weekly trip out for a treat and some great bread. Can highly recommend Loaf even if a bit if a trip to get here. Just love love love Loaf"

"Terrible food, aranchini served cold in the middle, I have never had squid as rubbery as this. Lacking flavour and quality and charged a premium for this. I was asked several times how my food was but the server had walked away before I could answer. Avoid if you enjoy good food! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £40–50 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes: Arancini Di Riso, Pollo Milanese"

"Absolutely the worse experience. The shower was cold or very hot no middle ground. I asked if the bar keep knew anything about hiring a wheel chair the the shambles in York to which he replied no, fair enough however upon walking away the staff started mocking me, also fair enough but at least wait till I am out of ear shot way it made our older friend who needed such service feel embarrassed. We left for the day and returned to find that they did not even tidy the room up or offer to do so. I would rate this place a zero however they will not let me post without giving it one star Food drinks: Food not much to write home about Hotel highlights: Great value"

"have here with my mother (the gluten is intolerant), dad and friend. we all ordered from the vegan menu and enjoyed our meal very and my mother was in the sky with everything on the menu (vegan or not) gf! the Mediterranean Sharing Plate was very nice, although overpriced I felt at £10.95 when considering that they only 4 falafels and 4 triangles of flatbread, although it was many olives and one of the good ones. my mother had the tomato and basil soup of the day, which was absolutely divine. the sausages and maic were delicious the veg were fresh and maic was creamy although I would have liked more gravy! the shawarma burger got a thumb from the friend and the accompanying chips were also sooo delicious. the most important were very cheap there were three vegan desserts that were real puddings (not only sorbet or fruit salad), which was amazing! we tried the apple and plant crumbs and the chocolate and salted caramel pudding. both were disgusting! overall, very good food and very cheap come to £ 70 for three courses and drinks for 4 people. I would recommend this pub to anyone looking for a good vegan pub meal, especially if they are also gf."

"booked a room for date night on the 14th april. room, 3-course menu, bottle prosecco for a bottle red, without qualifications exchanged) and breakfast next morning all for £140. I can't recommend that. the room of the kings was great, and eating was incredible. sharing the meat plate to begin, each product was amazing, especially the chicken liver parfait. main was the best burger I ever had, and my wife had filet steak that she said was cooked to perfection. dessert was just as good, although we were incredibly full of this point! all staff were friendly and helpful, without being overlaid or intrusive. we both loved each second and can't wait to come back. thanks to brand and team."

"During our visit, the restaurant was still serving their Spring menu, but they have since transitioned to a Tasting Menu approach. We opted to have the suggested wine flight with each course and were delighted by our selections: Seared Tuna and Wild King Prawn Tails (Antipasti), Lamb Rump, and Beef Fillet (Primi E Secondi), and Hazelnut Five Ways for Dolci. Each dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The flavors were delightful, and everything was cooked to perfection. The suggested wines paired perfectly with each course, making our culinary journey at Da Noi a complete success. We believe that the move to a Tasting Menu approach will be very successful in the future, and we are looking forward to our next visit to explore the new menu. We have dined in top restaurants in Florence aspiring to Michelin status, but Da Noi is the only UK-based Italian restaurant that comes close to matching our experiences in Italy. We are confident that Da Noi will continue to thrive, and we wish Valentina and Fabrizio all the best and great success. We are excited to return for another exceptional dining experience, even traveling from Lincolnshire to do so."

"6 Dec 2019 Looked good from the outside. Upon asking for a menu the male at the order point said 'there will be one on the table '. Alas, only available seats were upstairs by the one toilet. This 'room ' was dirty, in need of decoration and there was a toilet roll on one of the tables. No menu available so we 'cadged ' one from another visitor. The tables still had previous visitors plates and rubbish on the tables. The lady that took the order was friendly enough (2 aussie sausage rolls, 1 'mahoosive ' chorizo sausage roll, tea, cappachino and a glass of red wine). The order took 20 minutes to arrive, the drinks another 5 minutes. The 'mahoosive ' s/r wasn 't what I would call 'massive '. The glass of red was £5 a bit pricey for a small glass of house wine. Very dissapointed and wished we 'd had something at the Christmas market instead."
"vecchio parioli is a beautiful inconceivable Italian restaurant. from outside it is hard to perceive its authenticity is on a dark road and can easily be missed. but when they go in, they feel as if they are home, where I lived in parioli, in rom . for £14.50 they get a three cursor meal from one of the set menus. the more expensive set menu is £25 pfund that gives them a larger selection and a glass prosecco! the portions are generous and eating is classic Italian. the service is also very friendly, with all staff is Italian. for me this is a cozy restaurant, perfect if I miss parioli and Italian hospitality. the tiramisu was great!"

"I wish I could give this restaurant 0/5. We entered the hotel and had to find our way to the restaurant as there was no one there to greet us when we arrived and the total lack of staff was shocking for such a highly regarded place. We were stood at the reception for 15 minutes before we decided to walk around and find it for ourselves. It was 30 degree heat and when we asked to sit outside for our lunch meal we were told we weren’t allowed (even though there were tables free and there were many other people eating afternoon tea outside) so we ended up being the only table in a silent dining room which made us feel extremely awkward and uncomfortable. There was also no drinks menu what restaurant doesn’t have a drinks menu? And when we asked the waitress which drinks were available she said she didn’t know. This was not the young waitress’ fault in all honesty, she was probably overwhelmed as she seemed to be running around on her own looking after all the tables so god knows where all the other staff were. We left immediately. Would absolutely not recommend to anyone and will never been returning."

"I attended the Halloween Tales event on Saturday, October 28th and had a great time. However, I felt that the stories presented by the Woolly Tellers could have been more Halloween-themed. The tales were mostly focused on Nottingham, and I would have preferred to hear more about the history and myths of Halloween from different cultures around the world. Despite this, it was still a fantastic evening, and the food was decent as well. The service was good for dining in."

"I had a great experience during happy hour at the bar. I highly recommend trying the clams, empanadas, and olives. The Spanish wines were delicious. Be sure to order the paella upon arrival, even though it takes 45 minutes to prepare, it is definitely worth the wait. The yuca cake was outstanding. However, I did not enjoy the almond flan as it was too gritty for my taste."

"Worst breakfast ever from the menu. Ordered all day breakfast at 11.30 as buffet breakfast was finished. Breakfast served was cold, bacon undercooked sausage undercooked. Food obviously leftover from buffet. Not freshly cooked. Asked staff member to take it back as was cold. They kindly did this and returned with hot breakfast only thing was could not get knife through the sausage or black pudding or hash brown as had been microwaved too long. Won't be eating here again. Although staff were very understanding and we did get a free coffee for our troubles. Chef should be ashamed of themselves as let the team down thinking it was OK to serve such a terrible plate of food at a cost of around 10 pounds each."

"I moved in august 1998 to north of Ireland, but before I moved, I read an article about the bay tree in a timeline and how it was a jewel in north of Ireland 's krone, so that I had to go around there, and it became my whole time place to eat! breakfast and lunch was always a tasty bite for the 10 years that I lived there as a bayin! when visiting in Northern Ireland I have to go to place and place and must buy take away cinnamon scones to return to england!"

"I walked a mile in the rain to dine here, and I can confidently say that I would trek five miles in a snowstorm just for a meal like this. Every aspect, from the tea to the fresh bread, was spot on. Not a single spice was overpowering; everything was in perfect harmony. This was truly one of the best meals of my life and undoubtedly the finest food I’ve had in England. I entered feeling frustrated after a sleepless night on a train but left feeling like I could take on a bear. A flawless dining experience."

"We were disappointed with our experience at this restaurant, despite being initially impressed by the appearance of the building from the outside. The bar and surroundings gave us hope for a good quality Sunday roast, with two sittings and three roasts on offer. We chose the evening slot, only to find out upon arrival that the roast lamb was unavailable, leaving us with the options of beef or chicken. We chose the beef roast with all the trimmings, believing the claim that all their food was homemade. However, the beef was tough and overcooked, the stuffing balls were frozen and deep fried, the parsnip and roast potatoes seemed to be frozen, the vegetables were overcooked but appeared fresh, and the Yorkshire pudding was homemade but undercooked and inedible. The gravy was dark and resembled a thick, store-bought type. Overall, our meal was reminiscent of care home quality rather than a hotel or restaurant. We will not be returning and do not recommend the roast lunch at this establishment."

"We have been a few times before and always enjoyed it. Visited today for lunch with my family and I have to say, I left feeling a little disappointed. Firstly we couldn’t have a mixed grill because you had to pre-order! I understand pre ordering...maybe lobster etc but not a mixed grill, it’s pretty standard food choice. We ordered fillet steaks and whilst the meat was tasty the portion was small and the mushrooms were very oily. My husband ordered beef sandwich and chips , the beef was lovely, and we expected it served on ciabatta or hand cut thick bread, but disappointing came on a seeded burger bun that was dry. The decoration is fun, and the staff very attentive. But the for the cost I expected better."

"We come over from Skipton, think we’ve been 4 times in the last month and it’s superb. Cozy, not too noisy even when busy, radiators were blasting on an icy day which was good! Staff are really friendly but let you get on and eat their delicious food. I’ve had the Nourish bowl mainly because it was properly varied and tasty, not just a basic iceberg/tomato/cucumber salad with a bit of houmus. The menu isn’t extensive but it does change up a lot so my husband has gone for different things each time and enjoyed every time. Vegan options are good and they are really accommodating. Nice cakes too!"

"This is a vegetarian cafe/bistro and they are proud to say they use as much local produce and foods as they can. If you sit down the back you can see all the food being prepared and there are things to keep the kids occupied too. I had the most delicious carrot cake last time I was in there. I wouldn't usually choose a vegetarian place to eat but when taken there by friends I have to say the food has always been extremely tasty and freshly cooked and really not at all expensive. It is always busy and buzzing which means finding a seat can sometimes be problematical, but I have never been disappointed by whatever I have eaten there."

"We booked a table for 5 (4 adults and 1 child . Sat outside and enjoyed some nice views. The bar area is nice with plenty of drink options. The food was poor but the service was worse. We ordered three seafood cocktails (which is essentially a prawn cocktail and came with between 4 and 6 small prawns per dish and one Brussels pate (bland . It was close to an hour before the mains came. At no point during our meal did a member of staff come to our table and take a drinks order you are expected to go to the bar. We had four beef mains and one children’s beef. One dish was forgotten about and took another 5 mins to arrive together with our cutlery (which we had to ask for! . The meat was tasteless and some of the yorkshires and potatoes were burnt. No one checked to ask us how our meal was. When the bill came it was wrong and there was also an overcharge of £20 it took 5 members of staff to sort it out. There are much better pubs in the area it’s probably OK to go for a drink only but anything else is beyond their capability; your money will be better spent elsewhere."
