"Traditional country pub, I visited here early evening, 6pm having booked a few days early. When arrived we were expected, pub was quiet at this time in the evening. Ordered some drinks at the bar, was asked if I would like to set up a tab but couldn’t as I didn’t have a physical credit card (I use my phone for everything), no problem paid and took my seat at the table. Ordered sharing starter (breaded prawns with chilli dip to share), have to say they were lovely. Main course was fish&chips x2 . Served really quickly, fairly small portion and a bit skimpy on the chips, I counted 13 on my plate but more than enough mushy peas to fill the plate. What I found odd was half way through the meal, I was presented with the bill and asked to pay while eating my main. Ordered extra drinks and paid again during meal. I’m sure if they have had issues with ‘runners’ then i understand but this felt odd and detracted from the evening. Surely there is a more customer focussed approach? Real pity as it’s a lovely pub in a lovely location. It was an evening with my 16yo daughter."

Nice pub with a local feel and decent food but £8.65 for a pint of bitter and a small Diet Coke this far north is disappointing.

A fabulous place for good home cooked food served well by friendly staff. The chef has an excellent understanding of Gluten Free food.

The staff at the restaurant were friendly and the atmosphere was traditional, but the food options and portion sizes were only average. While we may not return, the meal we had was pleasant enough. View menu

Family of six for an evening meal. Quaint pub. Friendly, cheerful and welcoming staff. Lovely traditional pub food. Great atmosphere. Affordable price. We’re glad we found this gem and thoroughly recommend this pub.

We had a wonderful dinner in the early evening, right before the football madness began. The atmosphere was lovely, and the location was perfect - just a short distance from the busy main Broadway area. The staff were very accommodating and friendly.

The food at this restaurant was tasty and reasonably priced, but there were some issues. Despite having three starters listed on the menu, only one was available. Additionally, the advertised lamb roast was not actually available. There was also an extra charge for a Yorkshire pudding with the roast pork dinner, unlike with the roast beef dinner where it was included. The staff member was apologetic, but it seemed that menu issues were common. The restaurant is located in a lovely setting near the church in Broadway. With more attention to detail, it could be much better. I believe that no restaurant should ever run out of soup, and having a pre-packaged option would be better than having no...
