"Visited with my husband last night for dinner. As soon as we went through the door I detected a funny smell. Don’t know what it was, but it wasn’t inviting or welcoming. The inside is very old fashioned without being ‘trendy’ or quirky. The wood...chip on the walls had seen better days, as had the array of ornamental glass bottles on the shelves next to our table. Also on the shelf was a radio playing radio 2. I am a radio 2 fan, but not at 7.30 in the evening while having dinner not good for the ambience! I ordered fisherman’s pie which was semi ok, but was clearly microwaved as it arrived within 15 minutes. The accompanying new potatoes were also microwaved, given the 15 minute window and the fact the skins were wrinkly. My husband ordered faggots. He ate less than half of one as they didn’t appear cooked in the middle. The accompanying mash potato was watery, lumpy and tasteless. No complaints about the staff, they were all efficient and friendly. This is clearly a locals pub, given the sign on the table ‘locals table.’ Don’t be fooled by the beautiful exterior. There are plenty of other beautiful places in Broadway that serve equally beautiful food."

Good choice of ales but Guinness expensive (compared to other local pubs). Pub Grub' than high-end pub food, which works well.

Called in for a pint and light lunch on a very busy Saturday. The pub offers a good selection of ales, lager and draft cider and the couple of pints I had were perfectly kept. Lunch (bacon brie paninis) was served quickly and was...very good.

wow! here for Sunday dinner today and how wonderful. welcome, beautiful staff. we have time to decide our courses. When the food arrived, it was so delicious that we didn't even talk much, because we enjoy it so much. a pork roast, 3 fryed beef, 2 rolls polys, 1 treacle berry and 1 crumb. so delicious, really hot, good old-fashioned eating. Thank you.

What a great drinking establishment. Popped in after finding a pay car park to leave our transport in . Really old pub and had a great welcome from the staff behind the bar. I had my two young grandchildren along with my son and daughter-in-law....Sat in a great window alcove. Great pint of Taylor's beer and a great hour spent with family . Recommended!
