"Really good South Indian food – some of it served with a bit more elegance than what you would typically expect from an Indian restaurant. We started with Chicken 65 and Beef Dry Fry, both of which were served really elegantly. Portions were smaller than in most places but really more suitable as starters that way. Both were very delicious and a good start to the meal. My partner had a really nice Masala Dosa while I had the Appam and Kuttanadan Duck Curry. This was a really delicious meal and the tangy appam bread went really well with the slightly sweet curry sauce. We had coconut rice on the side. This was okay but the coconut was in the form of roasted slices of coconut (which was also used on the beef fry started) and I think dessicated coconut would have worked better. Also, I did not manage to find any of the promised cashew nuts in there. All in all, a delicious meal and definitely a step above your typical Indian restaurant. Service was good and quite fast too."

"My friend and I visited a concert at the Apollo and decided to grab a bite to eat beforehand. We were warmly welcomed by a lovely server and promptly seated. Our food arrived quickly and was delicious with generous portions. The restaurant was very clean, though I would suggest adding tablecloths for a nice touch. The prices were reasonable and I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation."

"I reserved a table using your website, when we arrived there was no sign of any booking. The waiter was very slow at taking orders and we kept getting wrong food orders being sent to our table I ordered a Mokito which I asked for without ginger beeer, anyway the waiter turns up with a cocktail which contains alcohol and as a Muslim alcohol is forbidden in my religion and on top of that Iâm pregnant. I had one sip and the waiter realised it was the wrong drink and quickly took it back and changed it. There was a some sort of party going on and they put us two tables away and It was just to loud. Ordered starters which tasted like microwave food, and then the mains took over an hour to come. Very poor service!"

"It was our first visit, and we were very impressed. The food was really good, though I did find the chips a bit salty, especially with the extra salt on the table. "Fond memories of the long bar at the Sanderson. It was the last venue visited before the first lockdown hit. So delighted to receive an email announcing the reopening. Visited the long bar yesterday afternoon fully aware that the hotel itself is undergoing extensive refurbishment. Greeted by pleasant barman on arrival who gave us the bar list and a list of around 10 cocktails but said these were the house cocktails and he could make anything. He then left and a young lady served us. I asked for classic champagne cocktail and water. Before my husband could answer she walked away and when my husband pointed out she hadn’t taken his order she replied, with attitude, that she was getting the water . She then came back to say my cocktail wasn’t on the list so couldn’t put it through the till. No trace of the service level we have previously received at the Sanderson or have come to expect Won’t be returning"

"Absolutely lovely space, amazing atmosphere, kind and friendly staff This is my favourite restaurant; I live round the corner and visit regularly. Great authentic Italian food (and Italian and European staff), a vibrant, friendly atmosphere, very upmarket without being stuffy. I have never once been disappointed, and following an upsetting incident last week, the staff insisted on providing drinks and snacks on the house. Truly unprecedented. Really lovely people, also full wheelchair access. The staff work very hard but really engage with customers, and the dishes are fairly priced. I really cannot recommend enough."

"On Valentine's Day, we waited for two hours for our food before deciding to leave. Unfortunately, no one in the restaurant was being served. There was no explanation given, which completely ruined our romantic evening. Three other tables left before us because they also hadn't been served. "Highly recommend The Ship. My Husband and I haven't been to the restaurant in awhile and we were happy we tried it again. We dined at the restaurant after attending a wake on Tuesday night and were shocked at the inexpensive prices for dinner for 2 it included a bottle of wine, salad, entrée and dessert all for $40.00. More importantly, the food was very good and we plan to dine there in the future."
