"This was excellent. Such a lovely setting within a golf course. The large hall facing the course was the Sunday lunch venue, some beautiful soft live background music sung and played on an electric organ. Service was impeccable, polite, appropriate and well timed. The food was amazing, I had a mackerel scotch egg starter and roast pork to follow. The pork was tender and tasty, with plenty of crackling, roast potatoes were superb and the yorkie was fluffy and crispy. The vegetables were served on a separate plate and again plenty, perfectly cooked, not over or under cooked, along with more gravy. All in all this was very impressive and we will be returning. Following lunch the bar area (closer to the shop) was vibrant and busy, a good area to chat and mingle."

"We had a great meal at Don Alberto during an overnight stop in Holmes Chapel whilst travelling to the Lakes. Outstanding service was the highlight, the guys brought around water because it was such a warm evening and kept everyone topped up. Even offered to have our choice of music on since we were the last people dining in the evening. Meal itself was also brilliant, we had arancini starter and pizza and ravioli main. Couldn’t fault any of it came in good time and tasted brilliant. They also do a nice house lager and good wine (not super expensive for either). Very reasonably priced everything considered. "Please do not waste your time on this place and their incredibly incompetent staff. I made a reservation for afternoon tea for 3. We arrived early and I told the server we were there for afternoon tea. He acknowledged we were there for tea because he made a comment about our table being booked on a 2 top. After 45 mins of waiting (I gave some leeway because we were early) I asked if there was a problem. I was informed that our reservation was canceled. I said not possible as I confirmed the day before and had an email to prove it. After another 20 minutes, the story changed and I was told that I only booked a table, and not tea service. BUT that they could have it ready in 20 mins. I said OK, but reminded him I said that we were here for tea so why A) did you first say it was canceled and 2) not just start preparing the tea service when we walked in. He told me next time I should really just call because the internet booking is not great. I replied that if it is not great then they shouldn 't have online booking as an option then (not to mention the difficulty in placing an international call) . At that point I said we were no longer interested. The final insult was them still charging us for the 2 ginger ales we had while sitting at the table."

"The food at this restaurant was satisfactory, however, the service left much to be desired. The waiter displayed rude behavior by interrupting our romantic dinner to ask personal questions without prompt. It would have been more appropriate for them to engage in personal conversation after establishing a friendly connection. If no conversation had been initiated, the waiter should have focused on serving professionally or asked menu-related questions. The lack of proper service made us feel as though we could have just gone to a fast-food chain instead. It is clear that the staff is in need of training and a better understanding of their roles. Paying high restaurant prices for such poor service left me feeling perplexed and disappointed."

"So we have been coming here for years, well since we moved to the area any way. The food is Devine, and I can’t think of a time we have had a bad meal…. We have had very slightly better meals but all have been top quality. The restaurant is small but charming as the Decor is inviting and takes you away from the street outside. it can get noisy at times when at full capacity or if noisy quests, same as any place) The food is what I would say on the more expensive side of eating out, but once you get the food and try it, you quickly forget about the price tag and enjoy every bite. Well worth booking and sampling, even if you go for a light lunch for cave and go for the dinner experience, there is a car park just down the road for long and short stays which is a 5 min walk, or a few people park on the pavement opposite. 10/10 the only restaurant I would give that rating to just because consistently we have never been let down."

"I had my first dinner at Bucci last night while visiting our daughter, and thoroughly regretted not having discovered this little gem while still living in London. Service was nothing short of top, with Graziano taking super care of us with super charm, great sense of humor and good advice on food wines. Being Italian we generally avoid Italian restaurants, but were glad to make an exception to celebrate my father in law b’day, and be treated to a high quality “home made” cuisine, like you only find in few “family run” restaurants. I went for Melanzane alla Parmigiana as appetizer, and two mains on a “share basis”, i.e. spicy shrimps and balsamic calamari. All of the dishes were cooked to perfection, generous portions, tasty and high quality ingredients. All of this was accompanied by a nice blend of white (Sauvignon and Chardonnay grapes) recommended by Graziano, which again made everyone happy. Forgot to mention, I was finally prepared a nice and proper Negroni to begin the evening with, which again is easier said than done in most places in London. Thx again for treating us to a great evening of great food in a warm, friendly and joyful environment."

"Caruso is like eating in an Italian's kitchen dining room with family cooking the food. I took my tween and teenager there for the second time for my husbands and my anniversary dinner, and it was very special. The fillet and king prawns dish is the highlight of the menu (to me) and worth every pound. The parmasan of whatever version you choose is very good. The best place to eat a local classic, enjoyed by young and old. Caruso has an extensive happy hour menu and a very generous two hour slot every day. It's an all-around family favourite to dine there. Unfortunately, there are no photos this time as I was in the flow of enjoyment to remember that I could review this delight if I wanted to."

"had a beautiful romantic meal here. it has a great ambiente with enthusiastic waiters who seem to take great pride on their service. we shared a beautiful bottle red as well as an authentic peroni for the man. that was divine, we could not say no to 3 curses here, as it all looked so tempting.We started with ciabatta oliven, calamari fritti and some beautiful garnels in garlic, white wine and chili sauce. this all went a tasty bite and gave us a taste for the tasty pornstars that still come. the man ordered steak (as I paid, yes, thanks mate and I had spigola alla griglia, that is seabass with red pesto maische and spinat. both were perfectly cooked and had the best aromen (good work chefs). we almost licked our tellers when the smiling waiter came by to clear the table and offer desserts. if in Rome...br < br/> how could we possibly say no to a traditional tiramisu and gelato?! so glad that we have ordered them! perfect evening to enjoy with the other half, even if we were twice as big as the time we left."

"I 've been to this restaurant a few times. After the 1st time I couldn 't wait to go back. Unfortunately we were one of only a few 2 seating tables that night bang in the middle of tables for 6+ people. A mix of hen parties and other large groups dominated the room. Even the loud music didn 't drown it out. I get that large groups generally mean they get a lot more money, but it 's just not 'couple friendly '. The most recent visit (Sept 2022) we brought a friend and I very specifically asked if we could sit somewhere quiet. It was basically the exact opposite once again. SUCH a shame as the food is very good. That said, I was hugely dissapointed they change one of the potato tapas, not as good as the 1st couple of times. I have now moved up to Yorkshire so won 't be going back. I would still recommend the food, but don 't go if you 're looking for a romantic night with your partner. Service also a bit slow at times coming to the table with the bill, or asking if you want more drinks. I know some people don 't like to be hurried on that, so it 's a fine line, but staff need to look and see if customers are trying to get their attention for such things."
