"Pizza Express as a brand name comes in for its fair share of bad press and the Reigate branch is no exception. Indeed, so indifferent are the people of Reigate and its environs to this link in the Pizza Express chain, this will be the first review to be posted on Tripadvisor since last October. Now come on folks, do you really expect us to believe that nobody has enjoyed a meal in this restaurant over the past 11 months enough to log a few kind words on this website? Well, if that really is the case, then we would like to set the record straight. Yes, the interior is tired and dated. But that’s being taken care of. The Reigate branch closes after service this evening (Sunday, September 12th) for a much needed and long overdue refurbishment. We have already booked our table for the first post makeover Friday and we are really looking forward to seeing the finished article. So, we’ve eaten at the Reigate restaurant twice recently August 28th and September 8th. On both occasions, our visits were truly memorable and for all the right reasons. The starters and puddings were of the highest quality, beautifully presented and excellent value for money. But it’s the pizzas you really come for and these certainly didn’t disappoint. Expertly made, cooked to perfection and generous with the toppings. I can only think of two other household names that are in the same league as Pizza Express Franco Manca and Crosta Mollica but neither of these two can better the pure joy one derives from demolishing a classic Fiorentina. Simply pizza perfection. Of course, it’s not just the food that guarantees a fabulous dining experience, the service has much to do with it as well. Over the years, we have always enjoyed service of the very highest quality from the Reigate staff and our recent visits have proved to be no exception. In particular, we would like to mention a young man by the name of Amin, who looked after us on September 8th. Despite his youth, he’s already a consummate professional and much of the enjoyment we took away from our visit was down to him. Thank you to ALL the staff at Reigate Pizza Express. You all do a magnificent job and we look forward to seeing you all again after the refurbishment."
