"Had a lovely lunch at Cowley on a day with very mixed weather. They have clearly spent time and money on erecting a sturdy, but attractive, canopy over the outdoor terrace. There was some torrential rain while we were eating but we were completely protected so remained dry and, with the addition of heaters and blankets, warm too. Although it was busy, the tables were well spaced so we didn't feel too close to the other diners. The view at Cowley is absolutely beautiful even in the rain so it was great to be outdoors enjoying it, even with mixed weather. The food was very tasty I had poached salmon and my friend had fish cake. The portions are never huge but it was enough, with side orders, to feel satisfied. Service was friendly the only grumble was that it was quite slow (over 40 minutes before our food arrived! . But all in all, a very pleasant return to socialising (safely!"

"Continental breakfast has a good selection, but the pastries were the equivalent to a cheap low cost hotel. There are a couple of good bakeries in Cheltenham and would suggest the hotel review their supply chain for these.I decided to pay extra for the full English, and in all honesty, I wish I had not. I could not eat more than a quarter of the sausage as it tasted like a cheap pork sausage. I was also served the smallest poached hens egg I have ever seen you get the picture.Overall, this hotel really really needs to up their game with the quality of their ingredients.The service however was excellent and the waiting staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly"

"Surprisingly quiet for a late lunch on Saturday so quiet in fact that the cocktails we had been recommended by the restaurant that we make time to sample were not available because the cocktail barperson was offduty. Once we had passed that disappointment, the rest of the afternoon was very pleasant, aided by excellent service and food that was wellexecuted barring a few bits of shell in the crab salad and a somewhat less than melting portion of belly pork. A very handy venue for the Wigmore Hall, and for Oxford St shoppers looking to escape the retail fray. I'd happily return to this place to see how it's evolving and I still want to sample the cocktail menu"

"We found the menus to be quite complicated. There were six of us eating and two if us arrived a bit late. Overall I found the street food dishes to be delicious and we ordered of them on the advice of the friendly waitress. We mainly stuck to that menu. Two of us shared a bottle of white wine and that menu choice was limited options from memory. The rest drank beer. I also had a margarita which was fab. We had tacos and salsaguacamole dips to start as well all very nice. Some of us ordered dessert the donuts with choc dip v average and a tart which was like a creme caramel no pastrybiscuit base which they weren't expecting. Overall I would go back but the I have to say the service from the chap waiter who took over when we moved to a bigger table helped to complicate it all for us. He seemed as confused as we were at times"

"Came here for something to eat/anniversary dinner before going to Sadler's Wells.....normally we go to The Gate further down towards the Theatre but its closed so we needed a new venue without just walking around. I found this on line. This was perfect.....The main courses...of Steak and Muscles we had were perfectly cooked as was the location and the staff.....especially the staff. However....the best bit was the Banoffee and Ice cream desert......just perfect and lovely....Make sure you have space for desert....I think during the day they will do lots of deserts with a cup of tea as these are all at the front of the Restaurant. There are a lot of places in this area...In our experience if you chose the F&O you will have a great meal, in a great location. Thank you for starting our evening off in a perfect way....And the Nutcracker at SW was great as well."

"We had on 21. June 2019 a table booked in this restaurant for 18:30. We arrived at 17:50 in the restaurant to drink a drink in the bar. When we arrived, the place was closed! There was a little hint at the door to say that they were closed because of a problem in the kitchen and would soon be opened again, but not when. We called the restaurant later this evening and left a message, but so far no one has returned our call. We had not informed about it by phone or e-mail. After we had traveled a considerable distance there, we were extremely upset to say the least. We could never recommend a restaurant whose owners treat their customers with dune. If you want a Resataurant in the Wandsworth area, L'Affaire should never be on your menu. We are also concerned that this is badly reflected on OenTable as a booking organization. I would appreciate your company's comments on this topic."

"Last night, we visited Al Forno and had a wonderful experience. We stumbled upon the restaurant by chance and were not disappointed. The friendly young waitress seated us by the window and our pizzas arrived quickly and were delicious. The garlic bread was particularly tasty. The pizzas were generously topped with fresh ingredients and the crust was perfectly crispy on the outside and melted in the middle. The portions were so large that we had to take half of our pizzas home. Although we did not try any desserts, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and do not understand the negative reviews."

"Fantastic lunch today at Turquoise kitchen, we had the Adana wrap and then Sarma Beyti! "The waiter was very rude and seemed uninterested in serving us. Every time we asked for another drink, it seemed to bother him. He even blew on our water glasses before filling them up. "Faced with last-minute New Year's plans, we were attracted by the convenient location and Mediterranean small plates menu in a pub setting. When we learned that the New Years menu was a fixed price mix of Mediterranean appetizers and traditional English roast beef or salmon, we thought that would please our party of diners so long as we could share plates and not have a full-price dinner for each person. The fixed assortment of Mediterranean appetizers included a duck pate which we asked to be substituted or removed, but the argumentative server insisted it couldn't be changed and it eventually came to the table anyway. Otherwise, the appetizers were unremarkable and proved to be the best part of the meal. After a loooong wait, the entrees of roast beef and salmon arrived. Both were extremely overcooked, slathered in unappealing sauces, and none of the accompanying vegetables were as advertised in the menu. The food quality was below that of a school lunch room. When we pointed out the differences and requested the listed Yorkshire pudding, the servers told us we must have had the wrong menus. We asked for a correct one but it was never produced. The miserable evening ground on for more than two hours with intermittent and unpleasant service from the staff. We eventually complained to the manager and he had the grace to subtract one fixed price meal from the charge. It was still an overpriced, memorably bad dining experience."

"very beautiful environment, beautiful place for romantic dinner, in any case it may recommend. wein was ok although they probably want to order a bottle bc price per glass is ridiculous. but courts should have better achieved good quality at this price level, but overall experience under my expectation. for example garnel with mango sauce was like 90% mayonnaise they could simply use mango with lemon honey and coriander or chili why add a mayonnaise? too many supplements also ruined carpaccio. all the ingredients were decent, but together it was a chaos I could not feel the taste of the main thing"

"Myself 8 friends visited on Sunday 17th Dec for a Christmas meal. Service was absolutely amazing considering we were a big group the restaurant was super busy. Really reasonably priced lovely food. "I've visited this restaurant several times, and the food and service are both excellent. However, I have one complaint about the background music. I don’t understand why restaurateurs feel that a meal must be accompanied by music that makes conversation difficult. It’s particularly challenging for me, as I have a hearing issue and had to ask for the volume to be lowered, which they did. But honestly, soft background music should suffice—there’s no need for someone belting out songs. When this happens, which is often these days, I just want to leave."
