"We absolutely love Just Steak! Their beef dripping chips are so delicious and their steaks are always cooked to perfection. The variety of steaks they offer is amazing, and you can find something to suit everyone's taste at very reasonable prices. The quality of the ingredients is outstanding, often sourced locally. The service while dining in is top-notch. We highly recommend Just Steak for a great dining experience."

"After hearing great reviews about this restaurant, I decided to stop by for lunch. The bartender was friendly, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor. The menu had a good variety of options to choose from. However, I was disappointed that the restaurant was cold despite having a beautiful fire. The cleanliness of the place left something to be desired, as the floor behind the bar was dirty and the tables and menus were a bit grungy. The food was tasty, but unfortunately, I found Brussels sprouts in my mixed sizzler, which reminded me of leftover New Year's dinners being used up. Overall, I probably won't be returning."

"Hi. It was my daughters birthday so I took her for a meal at the sun. Gosh was I in for a shock. I'm 29. I have tattoos. On my arms so some people think I'm rough maybe. Lol. I'm not I'm a solicitor. And a certain person called TRISTRAN THE SO CALLED MANAGER. Took out. The most disgusting behaviour I've ever seen. He said how old are you. I said I'm 29. He says have you got id I said are you joking. He said no I'm the manager Tristan. You aren't getting served. He then said look at my cameras. I have seen you on my CCTV. Now leave. I can't believe this guy. Even his staff said sorry he's like it all the time. Well I'm a solicitor and I will get this awful person removed from this once loved pub. No wonder place is empty and in great need of. Repairs. Keep away from here is my advice. He then came around the bar. And said get out. And don't return you're barred. Upon this we left. Thanks for reading"

"Such a lovely pub, and really good service but unfortunately the food wasn't up to scratch. Rump steak gristly, some undercooked (although they happily rectified the undercooked pieces and the corner edges of the lasagna were burnt (the size of lasagne was disappointing for the price, just as well we ordered a side portion of chips! . The pub wasn't busy so they weren't under pressure. Just a very disappointing visit overall. Price per person: £20–30"

"So firstly I want to thank the waiting staff and the host, they were superb and very attentive. What did let the experience down of our festive Christmas 3 course lunch, was sadly the food at £20.50 per person it does represent good value for money however as you can see the presentation and quality of the food served in our opinion was woeful. The Prawn cocktail starter was just terrible with zero thought or care given to the items on the plate. Our Main course was brought out and we had ordered 3 Turkey Christmas lunches but we got 3 portions of Salmon ! So that had to be sent back, when the correct food was eventually brought out it was effectively ruined by the over seasoned and way too salty Beef yes Beef gravy that was liberally doused all over the food. Put the gravy into a gravy jug and let your customers decide how much if any gravy they want. Now don't get me wrong as a Rochdale lad I absolutely love gravy but this was even for me, way too salty and clearly made with beef stock. When this was pointed out to the server she did send feedback to the kitchen but they swore blind it was turkey gravy . Our desserts of Christmas pudding were very nice and in fact this was the highlight of the whole meal. I would have gladly paid more for this supposedly special meal and we expected more from this establishment. If you are attending on Christmas Day for the same menu that is priced at £105 per person I wish you the best of luck !"

"Very disappointed. Went with a friend one Sunday after a nice walk. We fancied a snack, chips, sandwiches or something like that. We were asked for our reservation which we didn 't have (there was only one table in use, it was dead in the restaurant), he said he would find us a table, until we said what we wanted to eat... Oh no, we can 't do that... We only do Sunday dinners today! .... Lol, it was empty in there! Well, we sat outside had our drinks with a bag of crisps instead. To be honest, from what I saw of the menus, it looked very over priced anyway.... We won 't be going back!"

"Had Sunday lunch today. Portions were very large, too large.... hate to waste food. We ordered drinks. 1 pint of cider, 1 bitter shandy and 1/2 lager shandy for my 89 year old mother in law. Unfortunately the young waiter thought she wanted a pint!!!! Really!! We did tell him but he didn't offer an exchange and we were charged full price. Food could have done with being warmer. Overall good value for money but little things let it down. Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3"
"I visited this restaurant today and had an amazing lunch. Our server, Olly, was friendly and attentive, giving us a warm welcome and ensuring that we were enjoying our meal. The food was excellent, with a variety of options available for the kids and my wife who is gluten-free. The price per person was between £10 and £20. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all as a 5 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the Sunday Roast and Onion Rings."

"Our party of 3 were handed crumpled lunch menus and though I requested a wine menu apparently there isn't one. I asked what was available and from the three first mentioned chose a Rioja at £21. It was acceptable. I chose a 16 oz rump steak. On being asked how I wanted it cooked I suggested that the chef would know how best to cook his product and that this would be ok with me. I was met with a blank stare. After two more tries I was told I had to choose myself so chose medium rare. When it arrived weighing no more than 10 oz, gristly and rather thin, it was dry and cooked hugely beyond well done. I can honestly say this was the worst attempt at a steak I can recall. My fellow diners restrained my desire to complain even though their meals (a steak pie and a thai red curry) were mediocre. No one bothered to ask if our food was ok. After a coffee we left. I am surprised that this place is still trading."

"My husband is a steak lover and I’m a vegetarian with coeliac and I was really pleased seeing an allergens menu with plenty of options! We visited on a Monday which had a bring your own wine deal. Our waitress Daniela was incredible with noting allergens and we were given complimentary bread to begin; some of the softest and tastiest GF bread I’ve ever had. For mains I had a beyond burger which was great however the bun was a little cold and smaller than the burger which kept slipping out. I also had the creamed spinach was excellent! For dessert I got the creme brûlée which was served in a martini glass and my husband got the warm pecan pie which he absolutely loved. Overall I had a fantastic experience here; the service was brilliant, food was great and the setting and atmosphere was perfect for a date night."

"This is my second visit to the Jolly Huntsman, the room was spacious and had all I needed for my brief stay. This time I ate there and the wild mushroom risotto with parmesan crisp was excellent just the right balance and a good portion. I was so impressed I could not resist the apple and pear crumble with cinnamon custard yum, yum. Very pleasant and the host was considerate as were the rest of the staff. I would recommend you try the pub and the food and a good place to stay nice combination of local village and wider base to explore from. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5"

"lovely location and quirky ambiance. We had what appeared to be their best room, the Barn House suite at £330.00 for the Monday night, which included their full breakfast. Provided tour of room, bar and restaurant when arrived, very helpful : Our suite was lovely and warm on arrival and oozed top end fittings and decor, including tea coffee facilities, a huge lush marble ensuite bath and shower room, but there were no slippers or fluffy dressing gowns included, no sure why not as always a nice touch : As it was our wedding anniversary we opted for evening meal 'with all the trimmings '. No Harveys Bristol cream as a pre dinner drink option, just saying : My wife was dairy and tomato intolerant and they catered quite well for this, offering clear info on menu with 'can haves and cannot haves ', but the puddings were limited to slow gin jelly or sorbets, which was disappointing as we had informed them in advance! My wife was looking forward to perhaps a dairy free chocolate mousse, so easy to make! Service very good, helpful, timely and not hurried. Nice touch from chef with 'Happy Anniversary ' around pudding plate with chocolate sauce!! Evening meal came in at just over £215.00 including drinks and 12.5% service charge. So full cost was approx £545.00 all in. Had a very quiet and comfortable sleep in the 6 foot bed followed by the full breakfast in restaurant, the 5 minute walk was fresh and welcoming, glad there was rain! The breakfast was lovely, but a little limited as my wife 's allergies had not been passed on from the night before and she couldn 't have toast for example as bread contained milk and there was not dairy free spread, such as Vitilite or Flora : Overall, great choice for our anniversary bash, but need more attention to detail. Reasonable value for money for top end experience, but there are others nearby offering similar, For example, Congham Hall, suites available for around £550.00 with dinner, just saying:"

"My first visit here. I popped in for a quick snack, 2 piece chicken with battered chips at a great price. It was very fresh, crispy and tasty. The place itself was very bright and inviting. "Absolute rip off, **** awful service, terrible portion sizes . Walked in told that we could only sit at the back and order a carvery , booked online whilst stood at the counter and miraculously we were aloud into the restaurant part where we had been told there was no tables and then greeted by the site of at least 6 empty tables. We then ordered food I had a bacon and cheese burger and doubled up, paid nearly 15 quid for it , for a burger that would be overshadowed by a Big Mac and the 14 small fries I got served with the poxy burger didn’t touch the sides. Needless to say I won’t be returning nor would I be recommending, word from the wise, save your money and go to McDonald’s , you won’t wait half an hour there for your food . Absolute shambles! Never again!"

"Delicious! It was also conveniently right across from our AirBnB. We got chicken gyoza and edamame as starters. My dad got sashimi, I got a black dragon roll, and my husband got the steak. We’re American so eggs in sushi is uncommon for us, but still had plenty to choose from that was more familiar. All very good, we’re keeping it on our list for next time! Service: Dine in"

"I really don 't like to make negative comments about place like this and I 'm quite understanding of the difficulties they can have, but this was a genuinely disappointing experience. The first thing that struck, was the food scraps left under the table, which doesn 't give a great impression regarding cleanliness. The table we were given had two heights, which created obvious issues regarding drink stability. The menu is quite varied, with a couple of vegan a some vegetarian options on offer. The prices appear a little on the expensive end of the scale, as it 's hardly Michelin standard. When we had finished, we were asked how the meal was, we mentioned that the children 's cheeseburgers had been quite peppery, especially for young children. I mentioned that I tried it myself and I found it to be too peppery to enjoy, the response was not particularly apologetic, from either of the staff members we told. I would guess that nothing we said will be taken into account and that pepper would continue to be over used. The indoor children 's 'play area , has 4 wall puzzles and 3 vending machines, in addition to plenty of litter, which had clearly been there for some time. The staff were polite, but clearly at a loss of what to do in the event of customer complaints. In summary, it was somewhere that offered vegan options, the service was fine, parking is easy, unfortunately however, it won 't be on my must go back list."

"I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was poor; I was rushed to place my order because the kitchen was about to close, and it was only 6:30 PM! The restaurant was hardly busy, so it felt unwarranted. The food itself was quite terrible. I ordered the festive roast, but the turkey was tough like cardboard, and the vegetables were cold, watery, and inedible. The roast potatoes were the only redeeming aspect of the meal. When I tried to order dessert, many options were unavailable. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place, and I certainly won’t be returning."

"The Griffin used to be a decent little pub-restaurant. These days, it's one to avoid. I visited last night for the last time. Four teenage staff chatting away behind the bar, oblivious of me waiting to order our food. I counted almost two minutes before I was acknowledged. They took my order which had a few customisations. They asked me if I'd like any drinks. Halfway through making the drinks, they asked me to remind them what I'd ordered, and they still got it wrong. Keep in mind that I'd only ordered two drinks. They were all chatting throughout and not really paying any attention to customers. When the food came, which was pretty quick to be fair, of course it was wrong. Couldn't be bothered to complain anymore. The food was, at best, average. Won't be returning anytime soon."
