"Other half wanted to treat me to a meal out, worse thing we done, appears to have changed ownership, wouldn't recommend, the food was awful chips were like Crisps overcooked with no filling apart from oil, Club sandwich fried egg was almost raw and 3 miserable pieces of chicken on it and a very small piece of bacon, the bread was wafer thin and overall it was so dry couldn't eat it, who puts fried egg on a Club sandwich apparently the waitress said its a new chef owners are English. Won't be back."

"We booked in for Christmas Eve late lunch early tea booked in for the adult dining area to the right which we were seated in but lots of family’s in there kids running around it was very noisy,the food was delicious we had chicken goujons...to start followed by Lasagna,gammon Top brink burger the food was delicious,and the service was good,didn’t order puddings as the wild noisy children in there had drove us mad,parents letting there children run around,so we couldn’t wait to get out,last time we were there they told us that the adult dining area had gone for now due to covid but I mentioned when paying and the young lady said it was due to room for families? I understand it’s a family pub but these parents had no consideration for anyone else.Please bring the adult dining area back when it’s a table of adults only eating you don’t want to sit where kids are shouting screaming and running around."

"My wife and I have eaten here a couple of times now , The 1st time you call is a bit of a weird experience, try it yourself and your see what I mean but after that it's probably the easiest phone call your ever make to a busy restaurant, i find it easier to book on line from there website ,anyway staff are very friendly and professional they know there stuff ,food was perfectly cooked to how we like it I'm a well over the top burnt food man the food was pretty amazing, the deserts where to die for, and the T'bone is amazing, not badly priced too , highly recommend a try"

"we eat here regularly as I think that their haddock and chips are probably the best in the city, and my man can simply not get enough of the steak and merlot cake. the atmosphere is relaxed without loud mosac or freeze climate. the employees are the greatest advantage; pleasant, responsive, attentive, without being pushed and seem really interested in their customers. all around, I really can't blame it."

"Having eaten here a number of times, we were very disappointed on this occasion. Although the carvery was very acceptable it was overpriced compared to others in the town. The fish and chips, however, were abysmal. The fish was thoroughly overcooked to the point where the fish was dry, it was also cooked in dirty oil which was particularly unpleasant and the grey skin on the fish had not been removed. No-one came to the table until we had finished, when the waitress asked if everything was okay, as she cleared the plates including half of the fish and chips, and was told that it was overcooked and unpleasant but it went no further. We paid up and left but will not be rushing back."

"A very nice and modern restaurant with plenty of tables. We dined early and booked a table 5.30pm so it was not busy. The service was excellent and we were greeted in a very friendly manner. The menu is mainly steak and burger based however there are other options. I had a Wagyu burger and my wife a Halloumi burger served with salads. Both dishes were excellent. I could only manage half of mine and was offered a takeaway option which I accepted. Please bear in mind you will pay Beaconsfield prices although I felt that £5 for half a bottle of water was a little steep. Hence I dropped them a star. Overall I would recommend Prime."

"Not for families or vegan/vegetarians. We arrived early as our kids eat around 5pm. We came here based on reviews but really wish we hadn’t. The atmosphere is very claustrophobic. If there is even 1 loud group the whole area fills with the noise. With kids this was far from ideal and we had to move due to the language from a certain group (obviously not the restaurants fault). The food however took a very long time to arrive. I had to give my kids snacks and then chase the waiters to find out how much longer we needed to wait. The food looked great. But the vegetarian steak was far too salty and so we didn’t even eat it. The kids pizza was rock hard and my son was unable to bite into it. My burger was soggy. Overall it was a poor experience. The price I find very top end. I have been to many London restaurants and never seen a burger priced so highly. When the bill came we were overcharged too, so that had to be amended. Definitely not worth the money. It’s a shame as the owner seemed lovely."

"Although we don't live too far away (in Bridlington), this was actually our first visit to the Dacre Arms. After searching online for a restaurant near Hornsea that also catered to Gluten Free diets, we came across this place. We walked in without a reservation and the staff at the bar were very helpful and managed to accommodate us for Sunday dinner (lesson learned - always book ahead). The three meals we ordered were fantastic and the portions were very generous. The prices were also quite reasonable. We were impressed with the variety of Gluten Free options available. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience and great value for money. We are already planning to make another reservation in two weeks."

"This has to be the most despicably run establishment I have ever frequented. I recently took my son for lunch on a day out, parked in the car park. There were no obvious signs at all to say that you had to notify the establishment of your car registration number. We had lunch, paid the bill, left directly only in the car park for one hour. You can imagine how furious I was to receive a £100 parking fine a week later. And to make matters worse, the car hire company had already paid it (so it's very difficult to appeal) are now chasing me for the money! Absolutely shocking! No obvious signs, the staff never mentioned a thing didn't ask for our registration number. So a £30 lunch just turned in to £130! I shall never, ever frequent the place again what an appalling way in which to treat your customers!"

"Had Sunday lunch today. Portions were very large, too large.... hate to waste food. We ordered drinks. 1 pint of cider, 1 bitter shandy and 1/2 lager shandy for my 89 year old mother in law. Unfortunately the young waiter thought she wanted a pint!!!! Really!! We did tell him but he didn't offer an exchange and we were charged full price. Food could have done with being warmer. "came in for the lovely deals this pub has for lunchtime. free drink included with either a wrap or burger which are both very filling and good size portions. Today scott cooked my burger and it was amazing, kara served us and helped reccomend drink choices aswell as extra help such as bringing our drinks over. highly good choice to eat here and will certainly be back"

"I was a big fan of the Coach house in Humberstone, having frequented this establishment many times, over many years, NOT ANYMORE!, we arrived at 2.25pm on this August bank holiday Monday, To be fair, lady on reception warned us that we would have to wait until 3.pm before they could take our order, and we were aware that it was a Bank Holiday, so no problem with that, however we later found out that what the lady neglected to tell us, was that from them taking our order, we would then have to wait additional 45 minutes before being served, after a patient 50-55 minute wait after taking our order, with Sports Bar and Terrace barely 1/3 full at this point, I left my table in search of our waitress, to politely ask if we could have an indication of when we may expect our food (found 6 of them all huddled around the till), at which point a waitress I'd not seen before appeared to want to take charge and argue with me over how long we had actually been waiting.... who knows when the food finally arrived since at that point we left, food was prepaid due to us being on the Terrace, I did consider asking for a credit however i didn't fancy dealing with the argumentative waitress any longer, we were just pleased to get out of there, I won't be returning, I think the Coach house will be more in need of my £40 than me, BEWARE standards are slipping!"

"had only a nice meal here, it was very much enjoyed. one of our favorite restaurants is hickorys in chester (and other areas.) this restaurant hit hicks hands down. everything was so tasty and the craftsmen were also great. emma, our waitress, was very attentive, kindhearted and very friendly. they also have the best chips here! it is really recommended to come here. only here for the week in vacation so we found this jewel."

"Playfair 's is a small steakhouse restaurant, very close to the famous golf course, The Old Course. It is located on one of the main streets of the small town of St Andrews, on North Street. They have a small terrace at the entrance, down a few steps, which makes you isolate from street traffic... The restaurant is decorated with the typical British pub touch, very cozy! My trip and I went for the same dish, and it seems that a lot of the people in the restaurant at that time, too, I'm not surprised! The Steak Sandwich was the chosen one, Take steak to the iron, caramelized onion and a delicious mustard mayonnaise! All accompanied by the Chunky Chips (gross and richest fries that I have tried in a very long time!You cannot miss this site if you visit this jewel of the Scottish coast! :"

"Warm welcome, staff very friendly. Place was clean tidy. Took an age to place order and get served at the bar, they really need two people serving. Very limited vegetarian options. Food was ok nothing special chips were awful and very small portions for the price. Three of us had desserts and they were tiny. Our bill for 4 people was £80 so quite expensive for a lunchtime meal of meagre proportions. Wouldn't return I'm afraid as much better quality food and decent portions at other pubs in Cannock who don't charge the earth."
