"Imagine it's your wedding anniversary and your looking for a good night out !.That's just what we didn't get !!!Looked at the menu, Ah Beef Wellington, Not cheap at about each, but what the hell we will have it. The meal came out and to my surprise it looked like a burger with a bit of pastry thrown around it, Definitely not fillet of Beef as it should be and no pate' between the meat and pastry. The so called beef was rubbish and un-edible. We ate what we could and left the rest. I then went to the bar and paid my bill. After this I thought I must say something so I called the manager at the bar and told him about the meal. He apologised to me and said he would put it right next time and offered us a meal on the house when we came back.About two weeks later we returned. Had our meal and had to pay for it !!!! as the manager was no on this night and had left no notes of reference to this meal, I gave a card to the barman with all my details on, and never heard a thing. I did frequent this restaurant about every two weeks for many years and in the past found it to be OK sometimes and other times hit and miss"Since the last occasion I've not been back in months nor would I recommend it to others. Is it so hard to issue a voucher for a problem like this. Should anyone from the windmill wish to contact me Cant see it, don't think they are bothered."

went to have a meal here for the first time. we both had the gammon and it nearly took up a whole plate, fresh home made onion rings , fresh cooked egg and home made chips. the meal was beautiful, gammon so tender.would def recommend it. staff were friendly and the place clean and warm

My friends and I visited The Windmill on a Saturday in November. The reception and ambiance were lovely, with a big open fire and a friendly atmosphere. We all enjoyed different meals, from steak to fish, all of which were fresh and of very good quality, and at a reasonable price. The downstairs lounge bar where we sat was busy but great. We will definitely be coming back and recommending it to our friends. Thank you for a wonderful meal and great experience.

Although this is not my local ...I’ve had the pleasure of doing some work refurbishing it this week . All I can say is THAT IS HOW TO RUN A PUB ! For the last three days I’ve earwigged in on a team of people that truly care . The phone rings constantly with reservations and each and every time it’s answered it’s with care and attention . We were fed whilst working there and the food was prompt and truly delicious ....we were made to feel truly welcome . A true measure of success is how the customers are and there’s lots of them) and all of them were cheery and sociable .
