"Fawlty-towers-esque is the only way to describe our experience!! We were there for a business dinner, there were 8 of us. We arrived shortly after 6pm, sat down, and ordered some wine and food from the set menu (they mandated that everybody order from the set menu, or nobody could order from the set menu). After a short while, the person tending to our table began to approach the guests, one by one, in the most unusual fashion. His tactic was to lean in between the guests putting his forearm on the table. This was mildly comical. Each time he was informing the guest that their first choice for starter/main was not available. In some cases he told the guests what he would be replacing the dish with, and in some cases he asked for their opinion. This happened repeatedly over the course of 30-45 minutes. Almost an hour and a half later, still no food. We complained and waited a little longer, until it became obvious that no food would be arriving. We spoke to the manager one final time and he informed us that they the situation was due to an unfortunate event. Somewhat sympathetically I asked what the unfortunate event was, maybe the chef had been taken ill, or had a family emergency. Nope, the reason the manager gave was that they had a busy lunch service!!! At that point the manager offered us the opportunity to leave the restaurant, and gave us the wine we had drank for free (hence the high score for value). So off we went to Haz on Bishopsgate where they accommodated us, fed us, and we had a great time."

"I had the lamb which was cooked perfectly. The chips were cold with no heat at all and this was the same for all of us. The chips may have been lovely hot, but cold they certainly weren 't. Perhaps we should have sent them back but there were six of us and I don 't think we could have stood the wait of six meals being brought up to temperature. The broccoli was also cold (but this isn 't such a problem for broccoli). The peppers were good, the sauce indifferent. Dessert was a brownie with an intenesely tart passionfruit coulis. In itself it was fine, but to my taste didn 't go with the brownie at all and actively fought against it. On top of this was a mousse whose flavour I 'd call 'sweet ' (I think it was supposed to be chocolate). On top of this were some pieces of honeycomb which didn 't add (or take away) anything. A dessert which while not actively unpleasant, I 'd never want to eat again. I 've been in chain restaurants like Cote or Cafe Rouge where they make a rich, satisfying choclate fondant I 'd much, much rather have a competent dessert than one which tries too hard and fails. I didn 't have a starter as I usually struggle with three courses and sides. I had the main, shared two sides and had a dessert and, when I left, was still hungry. For £40 plus wine this was an expensive disappointment. Six diners, four not happy with the meal, and haven 't discussed it with the other two."

"Babessss let me tell you this restaurant gives you the best food. It is absolutely delicious and it's not your ordinary recipes. It is like Michelin style dishes like they actually put effort in pairing things together according to their taste and texture. Anchovies: we were expecting just a few pieces like other restaurants but nope. It's an entire plate of fish! The portion already got us excited and what brings it to another level is the warm sourdough bread. And what's every better? They charged £1.85 for extra bread! We've had experience where restaurants charged us £4.80 for two pieces of extra bread, so this is amazing to us. Grilled mackerel: omg the fish is cooked to perfection and with all the sauce/veggies that come with it, it's so sophisticated and simply delicious. The size is great too as we were expecting less than that. Crispy chicken thigh: we made a joke when we were browsing the menu because it's around £14 and we thought with the inflation and everything, it'd come with one piece of thigh. But NOPE! It came with 3 and all these food is plenty enough to satisfy us. And let me tell you the cauliflower purée in this dish is just phenomenal. So yummy. Chocolate pudding: we aren't usually a dessert in a restaurant kinda people but because everything is so good and the dessert price isn't too expensive, we decided to go for it. First impression is the very nice portion size because it usually comes in a GU pudding sorta size but nope. This is a SOUP BOWL!!! Omg that already got my heart and the taste with the lemon biscuit is just so goooooooood! You gotta try it out. You gotta."
