"I'm very disappointed at todays Sunday lunch, We booked a table and arrived on time, We were shown to our table and placed our drinks order then joined the que for the Sunday roast, Then it all goes down hill, I can fully appreciate that take away orders being available but why should service stop for the in house diners ? I would say that the que had over forty people in it for quite some time when take away meals were being dished up, Surely for a better dining experience the take away meals should be prepared in the kitchen and let the the in house customers have a more comfortable visit"

"On entering the carvery me and the family were greeted with that warm, homely smell of SAUSAGES AND BACON! What smell is better than that though? I can't think of one! The carvery itself was immaculate, me and my partner came in about 6 months ago and it has improved astronomically since then! You can really see the work that the team are putting in and that's mirrored in the food quality as well. Toby carvery breakfast is probably one of my favourites and this is probably my favourite Toby carvery now since the improvements! The service was brilliant, fast, friendly and all topped off by a respectful team who obviously enjoy working there. Me and the family will definitely be returning and I look forward to seeing you all again! Boss food, belter service, sparkling clean! I'd have photos but honestly, I think I inhaled the food before any camera could have got a photo!"

"The food was lovely but there was confusion about the vegetarian meal and how to order it. Often as a Vege at a cavery you tend to wait while everyone else digs in. The same with GF. A pay and order in advance for these meals would be good so everyone can eat together. The pudding came out in bits as well so hard to eat together. However the food was very lovely, staff did their best and it was very good value for money. Vegetarian options: A variety of options."

"the toby carvery was the obvious place where the travelodge nextdoor is located. Unfortunately, what we found was a big disappointment. on the first (Friday) with us was said that they were short staff and closing the buffet so that we could eat if we wanted. but it was the end of the service, so we saw what we got. the food was acceptable. I was worried that none of the hand pumps worked on the bar and the guinness pump was not in order. (a native told me that it had been like that for weeks). the choice for an ale-drinker was therefore john smiths smooth or nothing. on Saturday they did not even open the whole day because of the personal problems. Sunday was the best day with good food and some service, but no improvement of the bar. Monday was a catastrophe. they served, but by cleaning the carvery and could not even offer us a sandwich. I returned to the bar for a “night capsule”. the managerin seemed to be the only person present, and she was totally focused on the fertilizer so I went without being served. a beautiful stay in front of the place was pampered by our experience here, so if we go we hope they have more luck."

"We arrived early and we went to the bar for a drink as our table was not ready. As soon as we received the drinks we were told the table was ready. The 3 of us decided we would like a Carvery meal, there was no queuing as we got our food. All the people behind the food counter were very friendly asking were we came from and being just nice. We all had a very good Carvery and did not need a pudding. The Maes Knoll is very nicely decorated."

"My 91 year old mother has been a regular customer to this carvery for several years. She particularly likes this restaurant as she visits with family, which is a real treat for her and can choose manageable portions to suit her poor appetite. As she eats less than a child’s portion, I have often asked staff if she can have a child’s portion this request is always denied by staff. It sickens me to see other customers, both adults their children piling their plates high with obscenely amounts of food, then return for even more! I find it grossly unfair that she is always charged full price, despite the fact it’s clear to see she is elderly frail. As far as I’m concerned, she’s paying to support the cost of someone else’s gluttony."

"hi all, we popped over to the carvery at over at approx 5.10pm last evening Wednesday 22nd november 23, due to the discount 4 days being on again th today they were very busy here at over, and could only get a table near to the bar counter, which was all fine. my brother just went for a starter the prawns which looked very nice indeed! he also went for a sweet the new of their menu 2 pancakes with ice cream and cream fresh which look very nice also! I just went for the usual standard carvery set meal prices at 10.29pds each now. my meal was very good, I had alittle of red cabbage, sprouts, carrots, cauliflower and one small roast and alittle mash, and the lovely sliced dauphine potatoes!! alittle veggy gravy with mint and apple sauce all! after just managing to finish it, taking my time, I and having some water. we both enjoyed our very rare treet out this evening and would recommend this carvery pub with flying colours all! Bill come to approx 26pds. staff friendly and service very good here all! "This is the last time I will use a Toby Carvery. I was tired and hot and should not have booked for 7.30 in the evening as by that time there were only a choice of gammon, pork turkey, the veg were past their best having been on the hotplate too long. Im sure the menu is reduced these days and not for the better. Service was initially quick but once I had finished no one was to be seen to clear my plate an take my money. I didnt stop for a pudding as these are just sweet sickly and not pleasant from previous experience. It was a meal but not a memorable one"

"We ate here yesterday. We paid £30 for 2 cavery roast meals and desserts and one cola refill and one apple juice. We picked our meats and my wife says it was so thin you could read through it. It was not what they advertise it was scraps. The turkey was so dry I almost choked and the gravy was so greasy I could fry chips with that. The yorkie was tough and veg, the peas where burnt they felt like stone. My wife only liked the gammon the rest was dry and flavourless. My cola was more water than cola. The desserts was apple crumble and plum (only 1 plum and a spit of cream). I had Mr whippy ice cream with toffee that was the only good thing. We also with pur main meal ordered a side of pigs in brackets which was extra £3.49 and it was more like cremated pig. It was dry and burnt to a black crisp. Had 2 each and almost broke our teeth. Will never be back!"

"buchtisch. kellnerin very welcoming. but it was very disappointed that they only make the caries. what they see on the karvery servedabelle is the full menu. the display image demonstration shows a platelet salat that beats salat is offered. but no, just what you see, what I lacked in kind choices. cartoffels were dried, baked/boiled. good if you want a huge yorkshire pudding to fill your teller! waitress said they dropped the menu, it's just what they can see. so it is dried kartoffels, a veg. huge yorkshire pud."

"I was disappointed with my recent experience at this restaurant. I had specifically booked a table near the carvery because my mother, who is over 80, cannot walk far and needed a comfortable spot. Instead, I was seated near the entrance, which was too far for her to manage, so I ended up having to fetch both of our meals. I expressed my dissatisfaction to a young staff member, who informed me that the restaurant was fully booked and offered no alternatives. I noticed her speaking to someone who appeared to be the manager, but he didn’t come to check on us. We visit this restaurant frequently, so we were quite disappointed with how we were treated, especially considering how hard my mother tried to come out. It took some time for someone to notice we were waiting for drinks, but when the waitress did come by, she was very pleasant and checked on us after we finished our meal."

"I have always enjoyed dining at this restaurant when I bring my in-laws from Horsham. However, on this visit, I was disappointed by the unfriendly and serious demeanor of the waiter who served our table. The dessert selection was also limited, with only one option available, which was disappointing as I prefer variety. "the bratbeef was very fat and when I had taken the fat from my grandson, had hardly any left, some of my bratkartoffels were hard and we waited ages for dessert and when I apparently asked it, it wasn't going through them, they gave us dessert free, but after half an hour wait for a 5 year old on ice I think that was the least they could do. not as nice as we had in others."
