"The food was outstanding—well-presented and exceedingly tasty. We began with a selection of warm breads: rosemary sea salt focaccia, mixed olive sourdough, and sour cherry currant sourdough, all served with balsamic whipped butter. We also enjoyed crispy whitebait, seasoned with paprika garlic salt and paired with lemon mayonnaise.
For our main courses, we had pan-roasted sea bass fillets served with saffron olive oil mash, wilted spinach, and crayfish chili butter. We also ordered a chicken, ham, and leek pie with shortcrust pastry, served alongside chunky chips, seasonal vegetables, and a rosemary cream sauce.
Even though I was quite full by this point, we indulged in dessert. Our first choice was a peanut butter jelly hot cookie dough with peanut praline and peanut butter ice cream; I opted to switch the ice cream for honeycomb ice cream. The cookie dough is quite a rich dessert, and I struggled to finish it after my starter and main, but it was delicious nonetheless. We also had a Biscoff espresso martini choux bun, filled with Kahlua cream, espresso ice cream, Biscoff syrup, Biscoff crumb, and drizzled with hot coffee caramel sauce.
In summary, I would highly recommend the Red House to anyone seeking a fantastic dining experience. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very welcoming, and it features a pleasant outdoor area that I can imagine is lovely in the summer.
As a final note, and this is purely my opinion, we recently dined at Marco Pierre White's restaurant in Birmingham, and I can confidently say that the Red House wins hands down."
