"We finally got the opportunity to visit Miya, for the Sunday buffet. We were seated and explained that the hot dishes were to be ordered through your waiter and everything else was out on display. We made our way over to the buffet table and was greeted by dry, room temperature sushi that looked like it had been out for hours. This doesn’t really fill you with confidence when eating raw fish. The nigiri looked dry and shrivelled and it didn’t look like they were going to replace it any time soon even though the menu states the buffet is on till 4 (we came at 3). During our visit when we wanted to order any of the offered hot food we had to call the waiter over. Not once did the waiter come over unaided. But it was apparent they were more interested in talking to each other rather than doing their job. When we finally got round to receiving the hot dishes they were bland, dry and stale tasting. And again this doesn’t fill you with confidence when eating high risk foods. Overall, we would rate the food 1 out of 5 and the service a 0 out of 5."

Had a wonderful meal with a close friend. The tofu was absolutely delicious, the chicken Teriyaki was amazing, and the sirloin steak with noodles was lovely. I would highly recommend this restaurant! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Service was great however when we visited a few months ago the food was a little greasy and not too flavorful, but perhaps we just visited on an 'off ' night. We will return to give it another go. Service: Dine in Food: 3 Service: 4 View menu

The sushi and bar at this restaurant are excellent. Although the prices are on the higher side, the quality of the fresh seafood is definitely worth it. You won't find this level of quality anywhere else in Aylesbury. Food, service, and atmosphere all receive top marks of 5 out of 5.

Delicious sushi and main meals. Staff were out of this world: Cameron, Filip, Ovi and Dillon make the dream team. Great drinks too, food a little pricey but varied and full of vegetarian and vegan options. Lovely atmosphere. Would recommend to book in advance for weekends at the Japanese. Wonderful little gem in Ayelsbury, we arrived just as the kitchen was closing and staff were happy to accommodate. Food was phenomenal 6stars. Atmosphere was social, quite a few groups. Food was very reasonably priced, I'd of certainly paid a lot more for the quality I received. Looking forward to going back again as soon as im in the area. Service: Dine in View menu

London prices, motorway service station service: The food is petty good at Miya, having a varied menu with authentically tasting dishes. The atmosphere fair, but they could make more of the room to create an intimate setting. The service, however, is awful (hence the two stars). Staff with low personal standards, poorly trained and an absent management. It doesn’t matter how well the cooks do, if the waitress just throws the food down and forgets half the order. Management and owners need to get a grip of the front of house.

The food at this restaurant was very enjoyable. We both ordered the sirloin steak, which was slightly overcooked but still delicious. The tako sashimi was amazing, as was the beef tataki (although it was also slightly overcooked for my taste). The staff was very friendly, although service was a bit slow due to how busy it was when we visited. The prices were high and the portions were on the smaller side. Additionally, having to pay extra for rice or noodles with your main dish was a bit disappointing. However, overall, it was a pleasant dining experience.

"My wife and I had the parfait with thyme brioche and kumquat compote. Far and away still the best parfait. My wife then had the Free range chicken breast sumac butternut squash, crushed potatoes, tenderstem broccoli, cep sauce simply amazing. I had the Slow cooked lamb belly anchovy, prunes, celeriac, minted peas, potato rosti, pickled mushrooms, lamb jus. I don't like lamb but on the basis that this chef knows his business I ordered it and it was just fantastic. The celeriac was firmer than it should have been but that's nit picking. I had the cranachan ice cream with chocolate torte from their Burns Night menu. Being Scottish, I have to tell you that I did not taste whisky and the marmalade was finely julienned orange or perhaps kumquat rind. The oat clusters weren't the traditional style you find in cranachan but the raspberries and the overall ice cream was delicious and I applaud the attempt. I'd take issue with the description of chocolate torte but the chocolate sponge was immense; perhaps the finest I've ever eaten, complete with nice chocolate mousse and lemon ? sauce. The banana creme brulee was excellent if you liked banana; vanilla is better but sometimes you have to experiment. Earl Grey tea was excellent. The Harrow is a great local place to visit and has a chef who clearly knows his business but more importantly delivers consistently. My only complaint; it's not within walking distance."
