"The food as always is excellent which is THE reason for use to go there. We booked early 1830 thinking it would be quiet aged parent hard of hearing but unfortunately for us it was not and as the acoustics in the restaurant are not great you can hear conversation going on at the other end of the room the noise level was quite high. Not ideal . There was a wait for the food but when it came it was excellent and compensated for the noise in a way."

"My two friends and I visited Nimboo on a Friday night. The restaurant was only half full, so we were seated next to a wall. I placed my soft leather handbag on the floor next to my chair and ordered the fish curry, which unfortunately was disappointing. The dish resembled a thick tomato soup with small bits of fish. When I picked up my bag, I discovered it was wet and the leather had become soft like a sponge, ruining it. There was a leak next to me, so I informed the waitress who seemed unsure of the issue. The waiter brought a folded tablecloth to soak up the water, but did not address my damaged bag. As I walked to the bathroom, I noticed cartons on the floor to absorb the leaking water. I was puzzled as to why we were seated at that table when they were aware of the leak. I have no plans to return to Nimboo after this experience."

"I had some of the dishes on this vegan menu and they were all really good, appetizer and net. I recommend the aubergine. the employees in this restaurant are always so friendly and chatting for me! the owner told us he was inspired to create a vegan menu from his sister who is vegan. this place costs definitiw much more than they expect, especially given the amount of cheap Indian food they can get in london."

"we had on Wednesday, May 24th, a company krutin, frank and the team could not do enough for us. eating was fantastic, the service was exceptional, there is absolutely nothing I could owe to this place. I would recommend hundreds of grade for just a casual lunch dinner or for a party. we will come together here in the future definitiw. highly recommended!"

"The portion sizes are quite decent and offer good value for the price. I did find the naan a bit small, but that’s a minor detail. I would love to see a Tandoori option on the menu, though I understand that local preferences might not lean towards Tandoori dishes. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, giving me a nostalgic feeling reminiscent of India. The music is soothing and enhances the dining experience without being intrusive. The service staff is friendly and very polite, contributing to a wonderful experience during Diwali night. Thank you!"

"We had a good meal at Tower Tandori, everything about it was nicely done. The food was good and the waiting staff were courteous. The decor is also quite classy which I enjoyed. The only thing I would say is that the price means that overall you would expect the food and service to be as good as it was a meal with a couple of beers came to about each which felt a bit steep compared to other restaurants in Brockley or East London. So while this is a good restaurant, I'd say it only offers acceptable value"

"Really disappointing. I’ve enjoyed the food here before so took some friends who were visiting from abroad. The one waiter was friendly but unable to serve everyone. We waited 2 hours to be served main course. The restaurant looked shabby, with worn out chair covers. It was cold and the background music only played intermittently which made for a poor atmosphere. Won’t be returning unless management changes. Food was great when it finally came."

"I booked a table at Paradise Lounge after reading some positive reviews on OpenTable, and I wasn't disappointed! The food tasted fresh, and the garlic and coriander naan had a delightful homemade flavor. I definitely plan to return and try more dishes, as my first impression was very positive. The service was great, and the evening ended on a high note with a warm smile."

"I have visited this restaurant a few times, and each time I am reminded of why I am not a frequent customer here. However, to be fair, the drinks, service, and starters/appetizers are all great."

"this restaurant is a long favorite restaurant, but last year has undergone a change of owner and manager. on the august the food (crisis fried snapper and the coconut crumb part of a Caribbean menu) were very good, but the service was indifferent. all the good waiters we used to know seemed to have disappeared. when we came to pay the bill, they refused to record the order issued on our frequent customer card and refused to accept the Toptable Essscheck. not a coherent reason. so I didn't leave a tipp. I think it'll take a long time to come back. there are other good Indian restaurants like khyber in croydon."

"When our drinks and meals arrived, they were simply handed to us as the server walked by, rather than being explained what each dish was. This led to some confusion as food was passed around the table, and none of us knew which dish belonged to whom. At one point, my friend received a plate and was told to be careful as it was hot. It would have been much better if the server had placed the plate directly on the table instead of handing it to him to carry around! Additionally, there was a group sitting right behind us, and their conversations made things a bit cramped and difficult. After finishing our meal, we had to be careful not to bump into their chairs as we tried to leave our table. Despite these issues, I would still recommend visiting Tawa Kitchen. I believe the service we experienced this time doesn't reflect their usual standard."

"The staff here are very good and very knowledgeable the food was delicious to say the least they even gave us a complimentary snack alongside a little drink the only negative I can say is the music was a little too loud for us but nothing major and the price was in my opinion fairly high This said myself and partner would definitely come back"

"I have had the buffet on a Sunday a few times now and if I’m honest the selection of dishes wasn’t up to its usual standard. The food was nice and we all enjoyed it but I don’t think the selection was that good. The price was increased to £21.60 per head too and you didn’t even get a free popadom thrown in, you had to pay extra for those. It was extremely busy in there as well, which was a bit off putting when going to get your food. I will definitely go back again, because like I said, the food is normally outstanding and good value for money. I just won’t be rushing back on a Father’s Day/mother’s day."

"If we were to describe Chapati Club using a common saying, it would be: appearances can be deceiving. Despite its simple decor and straightforward menu, the food we had in the evening exceeded our initial expectations. This place is not pretentious at all, yet the dishes we tried were quite impressive, showcasing a mastery of Indian flavors and a harmonious balance. It's worth noting that the dishes are generally moderately spiced, with the option to add heat for those who prefer it. Our only criticism would be the lackluster dessert menu at Chapati Club, which currently feels somewhat lacking. Introducing quality Indian desserts could elevate this already impressive establishment and possibly earn it a rating closer to 4.5 stars. Recommended dishes include the sweet Leti drink, Kerala prawns starter, prawn main course, and lemon sorbet dessert. Chapati Club is fully Halal, with alcohol also served."

"This is our local Indian restaurant which has a reputation for high end asian food. We have frequented it since it opened but now we feel it has dropped its ' standards largely through lack of staff training. I tried to book a table for 2 but the website wasn 't working. I rang at 10 a.m. The call was taken by a rather unprofessional individual who simply said Hello? It sounded as if I 'd woken him up! When we arrived at the restaurant we were shown to our table but no attempt was made to pull out my wife 's chair for her, so I did it whilst the waiter looked on. The table was sticky, indicative of not having been cleaned properly. Later in the evening we saw first hand that by way of cleaning, the tables were simply scraped with a crumb scraper rather than being disinfected. Cutlery was placed directly on the table nonetheless. We were handed very grubby menus. My wife 's was annotated in pen. We suspect it was for staff use. We ordered drinks immediately so that we could have a drink whilst we read the menus and made our choices. They did not arrive until the starters arrived more on the starters anon . My wife ordered a Bombay Sapphire gin and Fevertree Mediterranean Tonic. The drink finally arrived with all the tonic already added so we never saw the bottle, it could have been anything, and in any event my wife would normally only use half the tonic to avoid making the drink too diluted. For starters we ordered popadoms for one and some onion bhaji bites to share between us. We stipulated that we wanted them served at the same time for that purpose. 60 seconds later the waiter reappeared with the popadoms entreating us to be careful as the bowl was hot. I suggested that the bowl would be much cooler by the time the bhajis were ready and asked that he take them away and serve fresh popadoms with the bhajis as originally requested. The starters finally arrived together. The dips for the popadoms were very thin. Of the 3 bhaji bites 2 were undercooked and the third so undercooked as to be almost raw inside. I couldn 't eat it and asked for it to be taken away. The waiter returned to say that the chef had apologised so that 's alright then! . I suggested that a more meaningful gesture would be for us not be charged for the bhajis and indeed we were not. For her main course, my wife had the Goan Prawns. Whilst tasty, they were served in a vast sea of sauce which necessitated a trawl of the bowl to get the prawns out. I had Chicken Tikka Madras. Again, very tasty but to my mind the chicken had had only a brief relationship with the appropriate marinade and an even briefer flirtation with a tandoor. Nonetheless this variant attracted an additional charge. Throughout the meal there were no signs of attentiveness from the staff. Unused and empty glasses were not taken away without prompting and apart from the usual irritating is everything ok? , waiters and front of house staff walked by without ever casting a glance at our table to see if there was anything they could do to help. Finally, throughout the evening the waiter and the manager would refer to us as you guys . After this happened for the umpteenth time I collared the manager and told him that referring to diners in this manner might be appropriate in MacDonalds, but we didn 't care for it in a Bib Gourmand restaurant with high end pretensions. Quite incredibly, the manager had no idea what that accreditation meant, nor that the restaurant he was working in had one! Taken in isolation, you might think that our grumbles were minor. However, taken together in an establishment that used to pride itself in not being just another curry house, they are disappointing to say the least. On previous visits we have commented on the fact that asian people obviously rated the place and attended in numbers. Not so this time, there were only 16 diners in the restaurant at its peak which is not impressive on a Friday night. When we pay £75 for one and a half starters, two main courses and a couple of drinks each, we expect better."

"I took my wife (to be) here 35 years ago and we have been dozens of times since. Tonight was as if it was a different restaurant. We had to ask for menus after waiting for 15 minutes. The wine arrived half way through the starters (which were good). The main courses were mediocre, the rice and naan especially so. After staring at our plates for 20 minutes we had to ask for the bill which came with an added service charge. Kalpna had been one of the leaders in veggie food in Edinburgh, now they have a lot of catching up to do. I assume the restaurant has changed hands, or maybe they (like everyone) just had an off day. It was also difficult to be sure from the menu what was vegan and what was not. Updated from previous review on 2023-05-26"

"The food at this restaurant was excellent. I particularly enjoyed the lamb biryani and the dal makhani. The tamarind sauce served with the papadums was amazing. My friend tried the railway lamb dish and also loved it. The restaurant was packed on a Saturday night, but the service was still great. They even made a mild vegetarian curry for my wife, who really enjoyed it. Overall, a wonderful dining experience."
