"had a cup of tea from here gave me a lot of energy, but was a bit too sweet for my pleasure. admittedly I put ten sugars in myself, but that was not meant. when I went down the road and went out on the curb. tee on the floor, cup on the floor, strange laugh about me if I had a wet it had been a stubborn experience, but I like to think about me as a dazzling chappy. as my one once said: “No point crying over the Spilt tea,” my nan was autistic. but yes, I'm sorry to whisper on my nann, said: "I could speak for English" uh there I am jabbering again, apologise. I will continue my assessment. beautiful tee, beautiful service, great location. the load isn't the bordstein. would come back here, maybe I'll stay next time to drink my tee. Yes, I will. "My partner and I visited this restaurant for the first time and were greeted by a friendly staff member. Our order was taken by another waitress and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, and we were able to swap and substitute items that we did not want. We will definitely be coming back to this restaurant again. "I was one of a Birthday party of 4 people . We waited, after ordering our meals ,for over an hour. We were brought antipasto and apologies for waiting so long. I must say the pizza for one of our party looked lovely as did the pasta for the other two and eaten. Mine however…ravioli… was disgusting ! …In cream sauce? A pile of ravioli in a bowl with what I can only describe as a tub of cream warmed up and tipped over it is exactly what it was. So sickly…I tried to eat it but as hard as I tried couldn’t eat a quarter of it !"

"the pret in nottingham has been here for many years. I have always worked in the city and have always found the food and drinks here to be very good. the personal is excellent and always friendly. I recently subscribed to the monthly Barista Decal at £25 a month, which is exceptionally worth. the only reason I don't give 5 stars it really needs a overhaul, as the place looks a little tired and the tables need to be cleaned better and more frequently in my opinion."

"Being a local, it's great having a dessert place nearby. The major positive is that the food is actually pretty great but the poor customer service and very stingy portion sizes take away from it's appeal. I ordered brownies with chocolate recently costing around £7, the chocolate provided was a tiny shot glass worth which wasn't enough for the brownies given. I asked whether I could get more chocolate, even offered to pay for a chocolate shot £2 more) but instead got turned away and was told if I wanted more chocolate, I'd have to buy the whole dessert again. You'd think they could spare a bit more chocolate for a customer of 2 years. I now go to Heavenly Desserts whose food is just as good and far better portion sizes. Service is far superior too."

"The shop was empty around 7pm which you'd think they'd be happy for custom! The 2 girls in the shop did not seem welcoming AT All, no smiles no customer service! The seats were filthy and the menus were sticky! When seated the lady did...not tell us we would have to order at the till, and was frowning and showed attitude when asked if she would take our order. Then another lady at the back said she told us (from behind the counter out of sight) that we'd have to go to the till. No one smilled all night!! THEY PLAYED EXPLICIT MUSIC WITH SWEAR WORDS IN EVERY VERSE even though my 12 Yr old sister was dining with us! The cakes were very dry and not worth the money and for the extra payment for custard, the teaspoon amount you get is offensive!! Overall experience was ridiculously terrible, will NEVER be going there again! Don't waste your money!"

"Took some family members (7) for carvery at 4pm Sunday. Starters dried up , soup wouldn’t come out of jug so had to remove lid tip out . Just a lump of cold congealed mess . Bread rolls rock solid. Main was equally terrible , end of dried up turkey (server apologised) ham fatty and no beef. Veg and potatoes soggy and just leftover from early in the day . So greasy and cold . All got left . There was a table with breakfast food on it , ie, croissants, jam . Seeded muffing and granola. This is what my two grandsons ate . We complained to server , he laughed and said yes it’s left over from breakfast! Never ever in my 60 years have I had such an embarrassing and inedible meal . I’ve never ever left a negative comment on any site before but this was totally unacceptable. I’ve sent an email but not sure if I’ve sent it correctly. We spent a great deal of money on this meal and had to take the children to a fast food outlet on the way home . I was very upset as I had chosen this venue felt very upset embarrassed by the whole experience. Needless to say we won’t be returning or recommending this carvery experience. Someone seriously needs to look at the quality of food . Potatoes , supposedly roast where just white in colour and covered in grease . There was maybe 10 potatoes in the server and there was 7 of us in our party but we asked and told there wasn’t any more . Why we stayed I do not know . Several days later I cannot stop thinking about this meal and feel incredulous that we didn’t ask for a refund, probably just much to polite to do so ."

"I loved the efforts the chef put. Food was lovely!!!!!! My boyfriend wanted some fries but they didn't have any. We were okay with it but few minutes later they presented the fries which were okay but they made a homemade sauce which was absolute delight! The staff was so sweet I loved it. Later, since they don't serve fries, they didn't even add it in the bill. I felt so bad. But they were very sweet. Will definitely go back there!"

"My friends and I came to this establishment to help revise for our upcoming exams. We were all paying customers and took up a table for 8 people with 7 of us sat at it. After 3 hours of us spending money on food and beverages there, with many free tables around us, we were asked to leave the premises, as we had only purchased “two drinks” which was entirely false and based off the fact he could only see 2 drinks on the table, as all our other beverages we had discarded ourselves, in order to cause less disruption and work for the employees. We had caused no disruption and were quietly working, and had spent at least £50 in the cafe. The free tables surrounding us made it clear nobody was being denied a table due to us taking up the correct amount of tables for our party. We won’t be coming to Pret again to study in the future. I would just like to clarify that it was only one particular member of staff that had a problem, the rest of the staff were lovely and served us our food and beverages with no problems."

"Started by phoning to make a booking,this was horrendous in the end I phoned central reservations and they put me through to the restaurant. I asked if the carvery was still available they assured me it was. Arrived at restaurant nobody came to show us or table we asked at the bar they pointed to where it was.sat at the table no one came to explain where the starters were or anything else. We found the starters or should I say where the remains or maybe not were. No plates to put the food on had to go and find someone The cold plate of meat what was left was spattered with cream from the desserts which was right next to it on the table,salad was non existent had to find someone again to explain all this. The main course was almost the same very little meat left the beef was the best and that was pretty miserely. The veg and the yorkshires were only just above blood heat. My advice is don't go anywhere near this carvery any later than mid afternoon. ."

"I have been going to scoops diner since it first opened but I can honestly say that the place has gone downhill. Where do I start? I arrived about 18:05hrs and my order was taken at 18:20hrs which is not too bad however my food arrived after 19:00hrs. I went up to the counter twice to enquire about my food as I had to leave for work at 19:30hrs. The waitress was not helpful at all and told me there is a delay as there are lots of orders (but all the other tables had no food on them either). When the food finally arrived my food was overcooked to a point it was chewy and inedible (I ordered a t bone steak medium well). I sent the food back (anyone who knows me will know that I’m not fussy when it comes to food so imagine how bad my food had to be for me to send it back) and was still charged full price for it. They did offer to replace my food with a sizzler however I was short on time and could not wait around for another hour for some more food to arrive. My brother had a chicken steak which comes with 2 sides. I ordered 2 however we was only given one. I ordered and was charged for an extra sauce for my steak and I did not get this either. We also got a chicken pasta (which didn’t have a single piece of chicken in it and tasted like something you’d get on an all inclusive holiday). I got icecream (scoops icecream is the best) on a cone as we were leaving but the cone was stale! Overall the food was appalling as was the staff. I have been to other Scoops branches and I can honestly say this is by far the worst. I do enjoy food and desserts at the other branches and used to enjoy this but I wouldn’t recommend the normanton branch to anyone. I never write reviews but I had such a terrible experience something had to be done about it..."

"Things change. I used to recommend this pub. The seating was uncomfortable. The food portion was small. Very. Though my coconut curry was quite tasty, my wife's dish was bland. We were not welcomed with a smile and told bluntly that what we had chosen on the menu was, in fact, not available. Normally that information would be given first. Everyone has an off day. I'm hoping that's what it was. I just think it wasn't worth the expense of getting there and eating there. Some people are obsessed with going out. Must have money to burn. The next day, I cooked veggie burgers in brioche buns, with fresh avocado spread inside the buns, served with M&S triple cooked chips. It was heaven and cost next to nothing. "The staff on the greeting were very friendly, and the car park had lots of places to park. If the hotel had an electrical charging station that would have been amazing. The rooms were lovely and clean, and the shower was great and super warm. The toilet and sink were also wonder, and we had plenty of towels. The beds were amazingly comfortable and the pillows were very fluffy. The overall breakfast was delicious not to oily or burnt in anyway, and the staff were just so kind. One gentleman who was clearly into cars had a long conversation with me, and that made us feel happy as we were talking to real humans. I wish the pool was open for much longer, as even if your going with children, a competent parent is going to watch their children and not allow anything to happen. Just something for the Village Hotel to consider as the kids were keen to use the pool/spa, but due to the busy itinerary that we had in Edinburgh, there was not time."

"Ate here before a concert as we were staying at the hotel. Our deal included a 2 course meal each from a fixed menu with a choice of 4 starters, 6 mains and a few desserts. We chose to share a starter and a pud, plus have a main course each. The portion sizes were fairly large so this was a good choice, and it se emend like the staff were used to people doing this so no problem in getting extra cutlery etc. The food. Was well cooked and tasty and good value for the price paid. Suggest booking in advance as we saw customers being turned away."

"I visited the The Village Hotel in Aberdeen. I have never been to Scotland before and wanted to make the stay special as it was booked to celebrate my partner's birthday. I spoke to Matt Ross many times before arrival and he was very helpful and also helped me to upgrade the room which we really made a difference. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy complete with a sky package in the room. Matt also helped us throughout our stay and honestly made such a positive impact to our holiday. The pool area was very relaxing and the hotel itself was clean. We very much enjoyed our stay and would love to stay again in the future. I will be recommending to family and friends even of it's another branch Monique"

"I took my friend here for a Valentine's Day meal. we had 2 for 1 on the main court certificate. the voucher has expressly stated that it cannot be used on Christmas or on New Year's meal. Despite the fact that I gave them the credit when we arrived, we were told that they received me via the credit card (which they did not have) by email, as it did not with him to honor valentinstag. when we told the person who was at the reception about the credit card, who only claimed that he could not be used to christmas or New Year's events, he simply told us that we cannot use him. Normally I should have walked out at this point and had gone to another place, but since it was Valentine's Day, I wanted to treat my girlfriend and most other places would have been fully booked. we decided to stay here and dinate, obviously not in the best moods. the eating itself was perfect although I am not sure it was worth the £30 per person."

"This is a good coffee stop in very middle of York. Clean tidy and good staff. There are a few outside tables as well as an upstairs area. The downstairs is usually incredibly crowded. Takeaway is often the best option. Food is the same as every Pret. Goodish quality and often a welcome break. The soup is highly recommended."
