"Today, my aunt and I visited this restaurant. It was our first time seeing each other since lockdown, so we thought it would be nice to go out for lunch. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our experience. We arrived at 11:55am and there were only two other tables of two already seated. We gave our names for track and trace, got shown to our table, and then waited for someone to come take our order for about 15-20 minutes. For starters, my aunt had pate and I had garlic mushrooms, which took 35-40 minutes to arrive. We then waited for our mains – scampi for my aunt and chicken curry for myself. After nearly 50 minutes of waiting, I asked how much longer it would be, only to be told another 15-20 minutes. In the meantime, a table of four were seated and immediately served with pizzas and burgers. When I inquired why they were served so quickly, I was told it was because they skipped starters. The couple next to us were still waiting for their food. Frustrated, my aunt and I decided to cancel our mains. To our surprise, they still charged us for the starters and drinks. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this restaurant."

"The location is great and the food is standard pub fare, but I had to give this place one star due to a serious mix-up with my order. I ordered the vegetarian mushroom stroganoff and ended up being served beef stroganoff instead. While mistakes happen, I specifically mentioned that I was ordering a vegetarian dish not once but twice. When I brought it to the waiter’s attention, he insisted it didn’t contain beef and was certain he was correct. When I pointed out the beef on my fork, he abruptly took the plate away without any apology. It took 15 minutes for my correct order to arrive, and still no apology from him. I mentioned that one should apologize when serving meat to a vegetarian, and he looked completely baffled. It seemed like there might have been a language barrier, as English didn't seem to be his first language."

They were out of the first two types of gin listed on the menu when we ordered. The food was just average considering the prices, and we found a £28 main course on the bill that we hadn’t ordered. "The restaurant offers a good selection of food and drinks, and surprisingly, it was quite quiet for a Friday night. Shortly after we were seated, we were asked if we were ready to order, which felt a bit premature. Following our first drink, we were asked to move to a different table because the staff wanted to ensure they didn't forget about us. I'm not sure if this place is newly opened or not, but while the food was enjoyable, the service felt a bit disjointed. It seemed more like the typical growing pains of a new venue rather than any incompetence. I’m definitely open to giving this place another chance, as I believe it has potential for improvement."

"Visited this wonderful restaurant 8/9/2018 and from the outset we could see that we were in for a treat. The amazing decor was inviting as was the waitress who immediately saw us to our table and offered us a drink. The drink was top notch. We then had a great guy called Noray look after us all evening suggesting what starters main meals we would like. Even had help around sorting out a special meal for one of our party who had special dietary needs. When the food arrived the portions were just right in size and very tasty. Although not everyone in the party had afters the ones that did enjoyed them very much. We were amazed at how reasonable the bill was for the excellent level of service the fantastic quality food. So to conclude the whole evening was fantastic so I give Riverside Fish Steak House a 10/10 rating. We’ll definitely return."

"I took my mother to the Two Sisters restaurant for her birthday last Sunday. We were immediately greeted and informed about the brunch options (i.e. buffet versus brunch specials and other adjustments, such as turkey bacon instead of pork). I think this is a great place for a relaxed brunch and definitely for a mother-daughter date. We loved the food and the service. We drove to a Groupon and will definitely drive again without the Groupon. Worth it."

"Booked online as we had been gifted a voucher for afternoon tea. Arrived and were asked to find a small table and seat ourselves, told a member of staff would be with us shortly. After 25 mins nothing and my husband had to approach person who appeared to be running the outdoor service. He admitted that we had been forgotten. Our hot drinks order was taken and we were encouraged to view the extra drink menu. Our afternoon tea arrived and was delicious. At no point did anyone come to take a further drinks order and again we had to approach staff. The bill arrived promptly enough and had to explain the voucher as there was apparently to evidence of email and staff on duty communications. Sadly this marred our visit, as service was distinctly lacking!"

"Waitress was lovely and very attentive which was good. Lots of items on the menu not in stock, and what we did receive were small portions. Considering The Living Room is supposed to be a nice high end place to dine, they couldn't even make homemade chips and instead served frozen which is not good at all. Not good value for money at all and there are other venues which provide better quality of food at cheaper prices, no wonder it was quiet in the restaurant. The waitress was the only asset to the venue."

"Cute pub on Bath Avenue, this place is instantly appealing for the great courtyard/terrace to the front. Whether just for a drink or some grub this place is worth a visit. Staff are friendly and are very helpful particularly when you're trying ti grab the next available table outside... ha ha, yes they are like gold dust during a nice day and they happily sit you inside and move your order outside without any fuss or sense that you are inconveniencing them. Food, I've only had the brunch menu which I enjoyed and would happily return :"

"When we got there our table had been given to someone else so we were put in a corner right next to another table within earshot for the whole evening... The starter and main was lovely but the dessert, a simple Eton mess was inedible... A bowl of mush with cream and a strawberry on top... They took it back and took it off the bill but it ruined the experience of a romantic meal."
