"My son and I, aged 12, decided to treat ourselves before he started high school. We made a reservation online, which was straightforward. Upon arrival, the restaurant was not busy, but we had to wait for over 5 minutes before we were assisted by a young lady. She was not impolite, but she didn't seem very cheerful either. Fortunately, a different server took care of us during our meal. He was friendly, made great recommendations, and provided efficient service. The food was delicious - my son thoroughly enjoyed his salmon with teriyaki sauce, giving it a 5-star rating. My duck was cooked to medium and was tasty, although slightly chewy. We had a few glasses of wine, and the total bill came to just under £90 for the both of us. In my opinion, it was a bit on the expensive side, but it was a nice treat for a special occasion."

"I was so excited to go there as the restaurant has excellent reviews. I really wanted to try their sushi even before the pandemic. Disappointing wasn’t sufficient. I don’t consider it’s Japanese restaurant because I don’t think if sushi is served the restaurant is Japanese. There is no Japanese person and no Japanese style service available. Don’t take me wrong, I’m not insisting without Japanese staff it can’t be Japanese restaurant. There is no properly cooked japanese food and all over food quality is very poor. First of all, I can tell with confidence all supposed to warm dishes are just microwaved. As soon as we ordered those dishes very familiar microwave sound started. supposed to be steamed chicken gyoza came floating in water. I can tell those are definitely frozen food from most probably certain Chinese cash and carry wholesale store. Spinach was incredibly tough. It may be good for you if you are on extremely high fibre diet but I felt I had become a cow. Sushi was another huge disappointment. Quality was poor although eatable. But I would rather prefer to eat that quality sushi at one of the famous chain restaurant’s branch in Victoria Street. Because it’d be more spacious and more importantly cleaner. But the worst part was when we ordered CURRY UDON! The waitress didn’t understand what we were asking because she pronounce it CA-RAY UDON and insisted she had asked what we water was noodle in soup. In my opinion even curry udon is noodle in curry soup. But by the time we had realised we made a big mistake and decided to leave as quick as we could, so didn’t argue. And when the bill came we just paid the amount. it stated that ‘no service charge is included’ and some Korean that neither of us didn’t understand. Since we left no tip the waitress suddenly became very rude. She even didn’t bother to say good-bye! I will never go there again and wouldn’t recommend anybody who would like to eat decent Japanese food."

"I’ve visited this store numerous times. The food is impeccable but the serving staff on the other hand are nothing but the rudest servers I have ever come across. Not once have I been in and not received some form of attitude from the staff. Can’t fault the kitchen staff but the staff on the floor are not fit for customer service. The last time I came was lunchtime and the man who sat us down gave us the lunchtime special menu which states to take the cold items off the conveyer belt. And order the hot food. No one came over to the table to take any orders so I ordered the drinks and hot food items through the qr code. We picked the items that were on the specials menu. When it came to pay the bill, it was more than I calculated so I asked why this was. And the response was nothing but attitude, the man spoke to me like I was stupid and didn’t know what I was talking about. I told him that it said to take off the conveyer belt and said nothing about ordering with a server. I have never been so angry with someone speaking to me like I’m beneath them. I think this store needs to seriously train their staff or replace them altogether"

"Open every day for lunch and dinner, this hard working Japanese restaurant deserves every ounce of the success it has. The food here is delicious, colourful, and relatively nutritious, while the setting is fairly simple, clean and informal with long tables and benches often shared with neighbouring groups. On the menu there's a choice of authentic Bento Boxes, Ramen, Yakisoba udon, Sashimi, Rice Gohan and various salads and side dishes pretty much everything you'd expect from a Japanese restaurant in the UK. With Bento Boxes from about £10 upwards, and Ramen from about £7, it's very reasonably priced as Japanese restaurants go. The only thing they don't do well is desserts but that's a common theme across all Japanese restaurants I've been to in the UK with Tenkaichi offering just one choice: a Japanese red bean pancake roll served with a plum sauce. It has firmly established itself as one of Cardiff's best and most reasonably priced Japanese restaurants, and as a result is hugely popular at lunchtimes as well as in the evenings so you may have to wait a short while for a seat at times. They also have a separate (but similar) takeaway menu."

"my wife and I went here to eat a quick bite and were initially optimistic. the reviews were mostly good and the staff was friendly. we ordered the baked rice, a hand roll and a drachen roll. the meat in the fried rice. was much over boiled so that it was dry, hard and tasteless. there was no sweetness in the rice (never the picture on the menu) and the spicy tasted as if it were just soy sauce. the handrolle was bland, and the drachenrolle tasted as if it was over a week ago. we were still hungry, but decided that we would rather be hungry than ordering anything else. judging by eating alone, I would rate this place a star, but the personal was friendly and the service was fast. the notizblock papers with customer drawings about the walls give him a funny feeling, so there are definitiw potential. but eating was sad only bad."

"After a lovely day walking around Edinburgh my friend and I decided to go for ramen and stumbled across this lovely place in Edinburgh. Happy to report it was exactly what we wanted and more . The decor in the restaurant was lovely and the vibe was great. The staff were very friendly. The food was delicious . We went for the crispy pork bao buns and garlic ramen with pork . The buns melted in the mouth and had a huge depth of flavour . The ramen was thick and full of brilliant flavours of garlic and other wonderful good ness . If you want wonderful Japanese cuisine then do take a pop into this place . You will love the experience."

"I have been here and ordered for pick-up/delivery so many times (I've actually lost count) that I feel it is my moral duty to tell everyone about how incredible this restaurant is. First things first, the food: The sushi/sashimi is delicious and it's clear the...fish is carefully sourced. The sushi chefs themselves are greatly skilled. They're quick but the preparation isn't rushed at all. They have a high attention to detail (and the size of the individual pieces you get are very generous). The presentation is also very nice. The same applies for the hot food that I have tried. Their teriyaki, ramen and yaki soba/udon dishes are fantastic (their portion sizes are also very generous). In regards to their dessert, I have only tried their custard dorayaki but it was a lovely dish. The pancakes themselves are soft but with a perfect firmness, with lovely thick custard inside. They provide this dessert with strawberries too. A great mix. The service: all the staff there are absolutely lovely. They are so friendly, attentive and very professional. You get a very warm reception and it feels like a very positive environment. The decor: I'm a big fan of the interior styling, it gives the restaurant a very elegant character. It feels like all the different elements complement each other. It's nicely balanced. Value for money: the prices are extremely reasonable, especially when you take into account the quality of the food and the amount you're given. Delivery: I typically pick the food up myself as I live so close to the restaurant. I typically wait 15 minutes for my food to be ready. To me, that is very quick. Location: it's a very short walk to Archway station and various bus routes. Very good location. Rooms for improvement: this is extremely picky but the one thing I'd improve is the hand dryer in the toilets."

"Best locally but.... I love Oisi and we regularly get take away from here for lunch at the weekend. I've been to lunch and dinner a few times and the food on the most part has been delicious, but we have found the service and food sometimes doesn't come out to order e.g. I had a hot beef dish that came out cold and when I asked they said it can be either and that it is served cold unless you ask for it hot BS as far as I was concerned, they were just covering their tracks. It is hands down the best Japanese restaurant in the Guildford/woking/byfleet area but I hope they read this and spend a little bit more time on their food service.Beyond that the restaurant is family owned I think and they do make a real effort to be nice but could do with being a bit more upbeat the location is a bit weird a stairwell between a printers and some other shop that goes down into a basement once you get down there it doesn't matter though.Overall I'd say if you live in the area you HAVE to go and try it out as it's great japanese food without the london prices (will still cost you a fair bit mind), BUT you might find that perfect japanese meal out might have a few little frustrations along the way but not enough to spoil the fantastic food in my opinion.Get the:black codtempura king prawnschicken gyozawagu beef (but ask for it hot"

"Had dinner with my friend and our four young children. If you are happy to pay for poor version of Yo! sushi or Wagamama then you will like it here. When we questioned about the sour taste in our yaki udon, instead of offering us another one, the lady ranted on about how they ‘only’ use ‘100% of tonkatsu sauce’? Apart from untouched yaki udon, we barely touched other dishes we ordered (normally kids would clean the plates of tempura which we ordered two portions as well as 2 yasai tempura. The batter was so thick that they weren’t sure if they ordered tempura batter instead). The miso soups also tasted funny as if they added vinegar in it. The edamame were soggy and over cooked, the avocado on dragon rolls were brown. The customer service was atrocious and the food was far from being authentic. Definitely won’t be going back!"

"The staff were lovely and attentive, always offering a refill of water or checking if I was enjoying my time. The food itself was incredible too, I had a classic chicken katsu curry. "fantastic food! my friend and I visit sushi nara sometimes twice a week, eating is simply stunning and the staff is very friendly. sometimes they bring up tasty and they are really amazing! we always order them at our next visit. the fish is so tender and will simply melt in the mouth and the rice is not only to fill it, also its delicious. the ebi fri (prawns) is simply yummy and so multiish! what can I say when you come by or just want a few simple foods. come here! we travel hundreds of miles for a good evening meal, and thanks to sushi nara is right in front of our house door."

"I visited with my wife and two kids during a visit to London over the summer holidays. Food was great, but our experience was ruined by the aggressive and confrontational manager. The service was ok, but certainly not exceptional; the staff were not engaging, did...not smile or do anything to make us feel particularly welcome. When the bill arrived there was a quite large service charge added, which seemed (to me anyway) too large for a quick visit with a small group (2 adults 2 children) and minimal levels of service. I queried with the member of staff if the service charge was mandatory, or if I was free to choose my own tip. This question seemed to provoke a strong reaction from the manager who came straight over to my table to ask why I was not happy to pay the full service charge. I explained that while the service was ok, it was not exceptional and that I would like to be free to choose my own level of service charge, which I would leave as cash. So I paid the bill, without the service charge. He was clearly not happy with this and made my family and I feel quite uncomfortable in front of the other customers. Following this, I decided that I was not happy to leave any tip at all, so we left the restaurant. Seeing that did not leave any cash on the table the manager then chased us out onto the street, shouting at us as we went creating quite a scene. He demanded to know in quite an agressive way why I did not pay the full service charge. Despite my best efforts to speak calmly to him, he continued to shout and be agressive, leaving my wife and young children quite shaken. All in all a quite unpleasant encounter, which was a shame since the food itself was really good. Now, I am not at all against leaving a tip when one is earned and deserved, and I fully understand mandatory service charges for large groups and complicated bookings. But when I question a large charge added to the bill for a quick visit with minimal levels of service, I don't expect to be confronted in such an agressive and uncomfortable way. Will not be returning in a hurry."

"I ordered the Sushi Platter A option. It was reasonably tasty. However, I found the staff to be incredibly mean and patronizing towards me. To provide a little context, I recently injured my hand in a sporting accident and have found difficulty gripping things. Therefore, my chopstick technique was very rusty. Therefore, my chopstick technique was very sloppy, as one can expect. However, the staff thought it convenient to watch me and laugh their heads off at my expense, which put me in a very awkward and embarrassing position. After all, one should be eating out to enjoy themselves, not to be at the center of public humiliation."
