"Due to its fascinating history, stories of ghosts and stunning Tudor architecture, 'The White Hart ' is an amazing venue for a meal. However, although clean, its slightly shabby appearance lets the hotel down somewhat, so it is in need of some refurbishment whist hopefully retaining the original fabric of the building and its historic character. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and polite, but the food, although tasty, had a slightly 'retro ' vibe and would have benefited from more imaginative presentation, such as the addition of garnish. However, the hotel is centrally located just a stone 's throw from the abbey and town centre shops and there are some quirky decorative touches, such as the suit of armour standing in the corner of the bar. Therefore, overall, I would recommend the hotel as a suitable venue for a casual meal or a celebration of a special occasion."
