"We arrived at a little after our booking time of 6pm but rang to say we were running a few minutes late as the journey took longer than expected. When we did arrive, the welcome was very warm and we were seated by the window. I was glad of that as the main body of the restaurant got quite busy and loud, and I enjoyed people watching! I was not impressed by the starter of dipping breads they did seem a little stale, but our main courses were excellent when they arrived. (Minute steak with a side salad for me and lasagne for him both delicious) They were obviously short staffed with just two waitresses and a bartender, but they went about their duties cheerfully. By 7.30pm they had got so busy they were turning people away. I’d go again but choose another starter."

"This was my first visit to the restaurant and I had high expectations. Although the food and drinks were good, I was disappointed by the service and staff. We did not feel welcomed by the staff who took our order and felt rushed, even though the restaurant was not full. There were a lot of junior staff members focused on clearing and setting tables, but the manager would constantly reset them to his liking. We felt neglected by the staff, including the manager, and were not asked about our meal. After our main plates were cleared, we waited for 40 minutes before finally asking for the bill as we were not offered dessert or any kind of acknowledgment. It was unfortunate because the food was actually quite good. When we expressed our feelings, the waiter seemed indifferent. Overall, the experience left us dissatisfied. This is not how a restaurant should be operated. I do not recommend this restaurant. After reading other reviews, it seems that others have had a similar experience."

"The food at this restaurant was excellent, but it seems like the menu has shrunk since my last visit. The staff, service, and atmosphere were all fantastic. However, it can be quite expensive, especially the drinks. Overall, it's a nice place to dine but be prepared to spend between £30-40 per person for dinner."

"I had another fantastic meal at 2 Veneti. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is delightful, and the service is excellent. I recommend trying the veal tomato or the sardines in saor. All of the pasta dishes are tasty and full of flavor. Personally, I love the linguine con busera. The desserts are also top-notch. The wine list is both good and reasonably priced. If you dine at 2 Veneti, you'll definitely want to return."

"The dining experience was pleasant, although it took 40 minutes for our food to arrive. However, Kieran was very friendly and offered my wife and me a complimentary drink to help pass the time. His excellent service made the experience enjoyable overall. We will definitely return and hope for a shorter wait next time, which would earn it a 5-star rating!"

"Four ladies in their obvious 50’s tried to get in on a friday night fir a drink- before the comment we were not drunk at all- only had one drink somewhere else. The bouncer asked fir ID for which we all laughed then realised he was serious. I happened to have my driving licence which he then scratched to check it was not fake!!! He said it was company policy that everyone had to have ID however one of the group had been there a few weeks before on a Friday at the sane and was allowed in. This is policy gone made! Never felt so humiliated! Will never go there again. The world has gone mad! We were not rude, noisy or drunk. Dont expect to be treated like that at my age!"

"My daughter and I went to San Carlo on New Years day my daughter had booked a table for 3.30pm it was very busy when we got there .We were asked if we had booked and we said yes there were three people in front of us who had not booked and were given a table .My daughter and I were sent downstairs and had to wait 20 minutes then we were seated downstairs .The attitude of the staff there was not good the only person that seemed to bother was the lady taking the money.Will be a long time before I go there again I was appalled at the service."

"Nice little pub, near the station, with booths, each with its own screen so a sports pub then I suppose.... The top thing is the provision of USB plug sockets all over the place, which I really really like so 5 stars for this from me, this pub (apart from serving some great food and drinks), is or could be a life saver, or just make things that bit easier for folks with last few bars on their phone battery... I know I know but its a thing.."

"My friend and I went for bottomless brunch yesterday afternoon. The food was delicious - I had the chicken burger and my friend had the breakfast. The raspberry cooler was amazing, especially with a splash of my friend's constantly flowing Prosecco. The staff were lovely, and our server Michael was cheerful and polite. "My Wife and I try and get out for a meal at least once a month, previous visits here were very good. Starters were fine, but I ordered a medium rare fillet steak for my main, got my steak which was well done, mistakes do happen, but to try and tell me that the steak was medium rare was just frustrating, I should not need to explain the difference, so replaced my steak with a medium rare, although after my wife had finished her meal. Did give us a free bottle of wine to apologize, which was a nice touch."

"Turing Tap has long been a favourite of ours. Several ales on tap at moderate prices, and a convenient location, plus food available. Space is generally not hard to find too. The music can be a little too loud for convenient conversation, and I am not sure how famous introvert Alan Turing would feel about this particular tribute The Oxford was at least as good a name but for the main part it simply has what you want from a pub."

"Ambience and service were very good indeed and the restaurant is comfortable with kind lighting and very clean. The food was good: we shared a pate starter which was excellent. My companion had the Pollo Parma which he said was superb. I had the Stroganoff de Pollo which wasn't as creamy as I normally like, but good nonetheless. The mixed side salad was generous. Desserts were lemon sorbet and a superb Affogato. We had a litre of house red wine (which was light and tasty) and with a 10% tip the bill was £82 which we felt was very reasonable for the quality of the meal."
