"I received the group on voucher as a gift, so was really looking forward to going for afternoon tea to celebrate my sisters birthday. What a let down. there was a toaster left out filthy next to our table. Staff didn 't want to be there (although they were lovely when talking to us, No one asked if we were vegetarian etc. I asked what teas they have and a lady brought over a box and said 'there 's some in there, have a look ' so i felt awkward and just selected normal, she didn 't even ask my sister. Had to ask for my sisters prosecco, No music on, sat by a door that was broken and staff and customers kept banging shut and moving the metal arm on the top up and down. Sandwiches were rock hard, the watercress on top was pathetic. Cakes were nice and so was the scone. Its clear to me that the hotel has gone down in standards as everything seemed to be budget. There was only 3 tables in and i understand why. I wouldn 't return again."

Service was very good, extremely helpful and friendly staff. The food was nice, but just lacking in a special touch.

I was very disappointed by the service, it took a very long time to welcome the table, and eating was average. I will never return

Service started very good but after main course service disappeared, would have had desert and another drink, gave up in the end, and went for a drink elsewhere

We went for afternoon tea and the sandwiches were not amazing, they felt slightly stale and the cakes very soggy. Luckily I was using a voucher as I would not have liked to have paid full price for that quality compared to what else is on offer in town.

Booked a last minute table here, everything was spot on. The food was fantastic, delicious. Reduced menu because of covid but spot on. Felt very safe too. Only down side was finding the place, no sign outside didn't realise it was in a hotel as we booked on line just said it was called 101 brasserie and grill. But will definitely recommend it and will definitely visit again View menu

Central and convenient location in Manchester. The menu was reasonable, but not particularly exciting. The serving of steak and chips was enormous. My fish with pea risotto was a bit stodgy, but the chicken dish was good. The waitress was very pleasant and gave us information about what was not available well before we ordered. The prices were reasonable, and the dining area pleasant. We ate very early in the evening, so the restaurant was quiet.

We booked for lunch. The wasn’t many options on the lunch menu and the ‘Chucky’ chips (spelling error on menu) were very disappointing as they were definitely not chunky. The salmon was smoked which was not specified on the menu and a small salad to dress the plate would have been nice. We were the only diners except for a photography/filming session going on in the dining area something that should not have been done with customers dining. The waitress was lovely and very attentive.

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."
