"We went for a family meal last Friday. Unfortunately there was a series of power cuts in the area which blacked out most of the nearby businesses, but somehow The Highland carried on! The food was lovely and served with good humour from the staff under very difficult conditions. We were even given a bottle of wine as we left! Highly recommended for food, service and value but slightly lacking in ambience."

The service is really good and the staff is attentive and yet not over bearing. The good part about the place might be the fact that the crowd also includes a fair amount from the middle eastern section as well which only adds to the credibility of the place. "I had the opportunity to come to this wonderful restaurant while in london and am from a Lebanese/Syrian background. I'm an American, but I've had all my life medium-east food. it was literally some of the best I ever had. the salads were all so fresh and the grilled meat and cheeses tasted perfect. the hummus and the grape leaves and the Syrian brot with tabouleh were so well seasoned. I asked fatima who she was chief. she told me it was herself! but she taught the chefs clearly because she was outside to meet everyone. when they go safe, order the desert and the Lebanese coffee. my family loved it and the place was full. make reservations or call before they go in."

"We ordered a take away from Syriana as they have such a great reputation The food was sensational They were unable to provide one simple item and called in person really apologetically and offered to replace it the food was so. plentiful that we're pretty...sure they threw in lots of extra treats for us by way as a courtesy the man on the phone seemed so nice and so personally invested in the meal there was a hospitality and generosity in the food, not only the portions we both commented on how layered the flavours were we ordered vegan food and it was so delicious every dish tasted uniquely different from the next one there was a fantastic hummous all the different flavours in each of the dishes were subtly layered and complementary with not too much salt or oil... I felt as though generations of family recipes had been preserved and the results had been lovingly prepared for us in our own home. "Love the atmosphere of this restaurant. Very cozy, fairly small place and very nice and helpful waiting staff. Food is actually very good we very much enjoyed the ravioli main recommended by our waiter but would strongly advise avoiding the house red Nero d’avola. Thankfully the waitress who dealt with the wine was very understanding and managed to arrange an immediate exchange once we’d mustered up the courage to complain about what to us seemed like drinking red wine vinegar. We were assured the wine was as it’s supposed to be, which must make it just a terrible example of a Nero. A house wine of course will never be an award winner but it should be at least drinkable and was all that stopped us from rating our experience 5 stars. Will be back nevertheless!!"

The owner is passionate about his business and personally rang to follow up with me about an issue I had on a delivery last time, and we resolved the issue and he even provided me some desserts on the house when he heard my knee was injured and I couldn't walk. The food on delivery this time was fresh, hot, and very good portions with a decent amount of meat. Very happy to see Jordanian cuisine in Cambridge with such authentic flavour and an owner who takes pride in his restaurant and making sure every issue is followed up with. Thank you! I'll be back!"
