"My husband and I had a wonderful meal in Ginger on Oct 28th 2023. Both the Manager, Matt and our table server Olivier could not have been more helpful -despite the fact that I had booked the Ginger Restaurant in Arkansas by mistake . After joining us in merriment re my faux pas, Matt assisted by the lovely Olivia ensured we had a thoroughly enjoyable night. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant or Matt and Olivia more highly. "Found mold in our afternoon tea set. When we first noticed mold and pointed it out, they gave us an excuse (gaslit us) and said it was due to poor mixing of ingredients. When we found more mold in other food, they finally apologised and admitted to there being mold. They then kindly offered us a refund and any food or drinks on the menu but when we said we had lost our appetite and trust in the kitchen and preferred not to order anything else, and instead inquired about any other form of compensation, they started getting impatient and spoke to us condescendingly when in fact they were in the wrong to begin with. The manager said he would email us (with what I can only assume, another apology and perhaps further ideas on how to compensate for the poor experience) and I have yet to hear from him (it’s been 5 days). Overall, nice atmosphere but very poor service and food. I have never left a review but this experience is impossible not to share and to warn others about."

"Read about this restaurant and said that they’re trying to regain the lost Michelin star so was having quite high expectation. The first two courses of the tasting menu were good. Flavours all worked and ingredients were fresh. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. Although snails were cooked to perfect, the sauce was way too salty. The ravioli was only a whole snail with the same sauce inside so not sure the point of wrapping it to make into a ravioli. Perhaps different way of making the filling of the ravioli would make the dish more interesting. The seafood dish was cooked ok but then the acidity of the celeriac was way too overpowering. Rabbit was cooked nicely but then again the sauce was too salty to the point of inedible. Cheese dish was good. Pre-dessert was very limey which may help to cleanse the pilate. Dessert itself was nothing very special. The coriander ice cream was nice but the pineapples made the dish tasted cheap. Overall, the food was not outstanding or even specially good. Given it costs over £100 per person for the tasting menu, we would expect much higher quality. With this price range, there are quite a lot more places offer much better food."

"What a little gem of Ripley it is! We went for an afternoon walk today and fancied a little stop on the way back. And what a treat this pub was We only had a drink each and a few nibbles but we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Food was good quality and presented well. Homemade humus was yummy and polenta chips were a perfect combination of soft and crunchy! Phoebe and James looked after us and made us feel very welcome, including Ted, our dog, who got some water, a treat and, of course, attention Thank you, guys! We'll definitely be back!"

"Not sure what happened today, been nice when been previously but food poor and poor attitude of management. I had potato skins for starter, very greasy and undercooked. My partner had soup and was cold. I had chicken marershala for main. Had big lumps of unmelted cheese and couldn't taste the tomato, chips were also hard. When complained to management he said you were first customers of the day and chef might not have been awake. Nice attitude. We won't be going back"

"Popped in to try, after reading your reviews. The pub is well situated, good parking, nice views. The staff were polite, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is lovely, laid back, good music and comfortable lighting. We both decided on the chicken curry, although the menu offered a huge choice. The dishes were well presented, served with a poppadom, onion, and mango chutney. The curry was hot in temperature, and very moreish. We really didn't want to leave. Well done fantastic hospitality. "we came to brooks country house on 04.08.19 for a night stay. when we arrived, we were greeted by two friendly recipeists who checked in and showed us in our room. they said there was a birthday party in this night, but it shouldn't be too disgusting. we have settled in our room, which we unfortunately felt for updating and a really deep cleanliness. put on the shower, fragrant smell and crack everywhere! we have booked a table to eat 8 o'clock and after approx. We wait 5 minutes in a small dining room. we ordered our foods and appetizers were bought near enough immediately, which we a little shocked as they are clearly produced. I had the mushroom soup that was good, but I would not recommend it and my partner had the Scotch egg he enjoyed. Once the tellers were cleared, the main thing came, the order was wrong, so they were taken back and 5 minutes later arrived the correct order of chicken supreme. that was beautiful and I would highly recommend, very delicious! the couple next to us had the smoked salmon duo star and found a piece of glass in his salat and the general consens among couples that this hotel was a bit like bad towers! I wouldn't recommend it, but it's not the worst place we stayed! the personal is friendly, just need a good clean and revamp!"

"Just returned from a lovely few days at Titchwell Manor. We booked a last minute 3 nights break as the weather looked promising. We booked over the phone as we took our well behaved dog with us. Although it’s at the higher end of what we normally pay we felt it was worth it. We stayed in room 24 in the courtyard, it opened up on to the rear gardens which were beautiful. The room was beautifully decorated, spacious and welcoming. There was only a bath and hand held shower, we wouldn’t normally book a room without a walk in shower but we only booked a few days before. The breakfast was outstanding, great quality and variety on the buffet table in particular. Lovely hot food, nothing too much trouble. The staff were all friendly and courteous, all very kind to our dog. We had to eat in the Bistro as this is the only dog friendly restaurant, not a problem for us. The evening meal has a smaller menu but focuses on quality. We enjoyed everything we ate. The only negative for us is there’s nowhere to safely walk your dog in an evening. The hotel is directly on the busy roadside. It wouldn’t deter us from staying again, just something to beat in mind. Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Luxury, Romantic"

"We had a wonderful dining experience at The Mill last night! The food and service were exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff. We were excited to try the new menu, and it did not disappoint! There were plenty of delicious options to choose from, making it difficult to decide. We decided to share a cheesy flatbread and a pork and apple sausage roll, both of which were delicious. The sausage roll was a standout. The steak burger was cooked perfectly, and my friends enjoyed the halloumi kebabs. Unfortunately, the special crème brûlée was sold out, so I opted for the sticky toffee pudding, which was fantastic. My friends had a chocolate sundae and a crumble, both of which were also very satisfying. We were pleased with the entire meal, and the bill, including a few drinks and hot beverages, was quite reasonable at approximately £121. I am already looking forward to returning to The Mill to try more dishes from the summer menu. Additionally, knowing that I will be getting married there next year, I am reassured that the food and service are exceptional and will be perfect for our special day."

"My husband and I visited the Royal Oak during our honeymoon in the area. The pub had a cozy atmosphere and the staff were friendly. We were excited to try the pie of the day and spoke with the owner/landlord about ordering the last 2 pies. Our drinks, including a Big Sur IPA that my husband enjoyed, were served promptly. Despite the pub not being very busy, we waited over an hour for our food with no updates from the staff. When we inquired about our order, we were told that it had not been sent to the kitchen. "We'd been to the Boars Head once before for a light lunch, which had been fine, but this time we brought the family for a proper Sunday lunch. The restaurant and bar were very busy, but we were given a friendly welcome and service throughout was unflustered, unobtrusive, prompt and excellent. Altogether, we had three different starters, six different adult main courses and five different desserts and every item on every plate was superb well cooked, well presented and delicious. This is definitely our new favourite restaurant and I can't wait to go back."

"We dined at the restaurant as it was rated one of the ‘Pick of the Pubs’ in our AA ‘The Pub Guide’ and as always seems to be the case deservedly so, it was quiet as it was a Wednesday evening but there were still enough diners to create a nice atmosphere, the food and service was excellent, very good and varied menu and good value given the quality, my wife and I couldn’t fault a single part of our meals they even had a dessert that combined Crème Brûlée and Stollen two of my wife’s favourites which was a real bonus. We will definitely return to this restaurant when we’re in the area again."

"We had high hopes for Brigade Bar Kitchen reviews great and photos made the place look fun and vibrant. But the reality sadly wasn’t so. In terms of ambience it’s more like an airport feel restaurant, lacking in any sort of authenticity or life, like a hotel restaurant. It seemed a bit “textbook” and naff. Although the staff were friendly, unfortunately service was slow and strange. They actually forgot our order and it was a good hour or so before we got our food. I did ask after about 30mins or so if our food was coming and the waitress said yes and went to check I turned around to see the chefs scratching their heads looking confused. I could tell they’d lost our order, so instead of telling us the truth they said nothing. The waitress never came back, instead 15min later I had to ask again, they then said it was “plating up”, it then was another 5/10min before we actually got food. We had literally watched people walk in after us, eat and leave! The veggie breakfast was completely overpriced. £11 for a tiny serving of quite cold food. Apparently the buttermilk chicken brioche was “ok but nothing special”. On a positive note, with all the waiting we had to do we had a great catch up with our cousin and her new baby!"

"This restaurant was previously underestimated, but its improvements since last year in 2023 deserve recognition. It remains the top spot for fine dining in Coventry. The presentation and quality of the food have noticeably improved. During our recent visits, we were greeted professionally and taken care of by Snecha and Aneta, who ensured everything was perfect at our table. We tried the Sunday Roast special and were satisfied with it. The atmosphere of the restaurant, with its view of the city square, is fantastic. I am pleased to update my previous review to a recommendation of around 4.6 out of 5. We will definitely be returning."

"Last night I was treated to the tasting menu and wine flight. From the moment we arrived everything was perfect, the atmosphere, the background music to the attentive, friendly and professional staff. We then met the sommelier, who did an incredible job of pairing the wines perfectly with each of the courses. I have never experienced a meal where every mouthful was sublime and each course beat that previously tasted. I could never have anticipated how simply incredible the food was and also the wines! "Me and my girlfriend went here for a NYE meal, as I always wanted to come to this charming little pub in croft as it looked so sad when it was locked up during lockdown. We finally had the chance to try it when I...booked a table for two of us. All I can say is that following a course meal, the food was nearly the best meal out we have had all year during The venue was nice and cosey, with friendly staff, and it wasn't too noisy considering it was NYE at until when we left. The beer was very good too. We will be back!"
