"Some customers had a great experience, but we ended up paying full price for our visit. The atmosphere felt a bit worn out."

"Great little restaurant. The menu is extensive and food is delicious. Cuisine is not Greek/Mediterranean as stated on this website, there are a wide range of tasty salads, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, main meals, desserts and breakfast options. They also serve great coffee, smoothies and their famous ice-blended freezacinos . The staff are friendly and helpful and the environment is child-friendly. I will definitely be returning!"

"we decided to visit the five arrows for lunch after we enjoyed an excellent afternoon, but we have remained disappointed. the foods were averaged for the total price compared to others operated in the region. the service was sometimes very slow. while we enjoy a cozy lunch, we felt the waiting time for teller between the main course and dessert to come out, and especially for the bill was exaggerated (the first question for the bill was forgotten, so we had to ask again what the entire waiting time was about 30 minutes.) contempt to details about dinge like after spuns with our coffee frame in asking and not going with a spoon. all those we were supposed to have preferred from the manager on the one hand. I believe they expect a certain standard to be met when they are dining here and unfortunately today it really is short for us. we also feel that all the things were considered and given the waiting times experienced that in this case the 10% service fee on a table for two was unfortunately not completely justified, but we paid regardless of that it came to an experience. it's a real shame when we waited a series of weeks to come for us and it just didn't fulfill our expectations."

"I have been to Soyo several times over the years and have seen many changes in their menu. Currently, the food is excellent with a diverse menu, fresh flavors, and great service. However, the turnover rate is high, so the quality of service can vary. The yogurt and pasta dishes are very popular, and the breakfast options are delicious."

"After receiving confirmation from OpenTable with the code 822102241, my wife and I arrived at the restaurant last night at 7:20. Despite our reservation, we were told we did not have a booking. After refusing to sit at a coffee table in the lounge, the manager was able to find us a table in the restaurant and offered us a complimentary drink to salvage the situation. However, our troubles did not end there. When we ordered the beef, we were not asked how we wanted it cooked and had to send it back because it was too rare. Our dessert took 30 minutes to arrive, prompting us to ask the staff if there was an issue. Finally, my wife had to ask for a glass of wine 15 minutes after initially requesting it. Despite some minor issues, we were still charged an additional 10% for the lackluster service. We have been patrons of this restaurant for over 20 years, both as a couple and in larger groups. However, after last night's experience, we are unlikely to return. In recent years, there have been new establishments in the area that offer comparable or even superior service. Last night's service at the restaurant was truly disappointing for what should have been a special occasion."

"good taste. fresh salmon. fresh and tasty nitriri. beautiful place only in the center of london at holborn tube station. I tried various dishes and most were great. they have a student discount only on the 1st stage, which is 10% and they also have evening discounts 20% for the whole menu after 20:00 o'clock. they have with the same kitchen a restaurant below, in the cellar, called hiromi. hiromi do not offer students or evening discounts that are strange, and I want to find out if this is actually okay. in the ground floor restaurant they gave me 10% discount bc I paid cash."

"My friend and I came here mid week for a catch up and were so very pleasantly surprised! It was very big and spacious inside with lots of room between the tables so it didn't feel in any way cramped, it was also very busy for 5.30pm! There was an instant lovely atmosphere about the place and the minute we entered one of the waiters greeted us and led us to our table. Our waiter for the evening was very polite and checked on us after every course. So the food, I had a bacon and avacado salad which was very very tasty the little strips of bacon had a lovely grilled as opposed to fried taste about them and the salad dressing was exactly how I like it. The portion size was also good! As...read more"

"We were offered both the main menu and the fixed price menu and went for the latter. Apart from an article not available, the choice was large enough. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and we had a great evening."

"Thank you for a lovely lunch, glad we came at a quieter time. Lovely to practice some french, while enjoying the delicious food. A word to the wise, parking around the hotel is challenging recommend on street parking (RingGo App). We parked at the station at it cost £12.70! as it's restricted to whole day parking only! The parking cost nearly as much as a 3 course lunch menu! (not the fault of the hotel but very annoying). I would recommend it not explored other parts of the hotel, be good to know if there's some kind of rooftop view or terrace."

"We were a group of 12 and this was one of the few places that could accommodate us and reserved our table as well. Staff were very polite, professional, well mannered and not pushy in trying to get us to order more than we needed. Food was made quickly, presented well, was hot and tasted delicious too. The lighting is a bit dim, but sufficient for the atmosphere I believe. Staff were also considerate and ensured all sauces, plates, cutlery etc were on the table before the food and they got a few extra plates for us as we had said that we would be sharing some of the dishes. Overall really impressed. Also, the toilet was clean and well maintained. I really loved the table as it looked like it was made from the truck of a tree! Keep up the good work."

"We had a lovely meal and the staff were very friendly. We used the taste card, which was 2 for 1. So saved us, lots of money. It was a limited menu and only had 1 Vegan option. Which I was thrilled at the choice . The chips were cooked in the same oil as the meat, so even they weren't vegan. I was left with a salad, which was literally just leaves and some cut up tomato and Burger. Which if you are Vegan, you do get sick of the only vegan options always being a burger (everywhere). They do usual have 2 vegan options but one was currently out of stock."
"My wife and I had a very nice lunch on Saturday, but I was not served what I ordered. The menu had changed recently and I was not advised of this when I ordered. I ordered a sharing platter which consisted of a selection of cold meats, rillettes, bread and a baked camembert with caramelised onions. This was still on the menu in the restaurant and also on the Cafe Rouge web site on the Internet. What I was served was six sausages, garlic bread, hummus and a baked camembert. It was nice but I do not think it was worth the same price as the selection of cold meats etc. I think the staff should have said the menu had changed when I ordered and I would have ordered something different. As usual the service was first class and all the staff very helpful and friendly."

"We have been here before and enjoyed the cote de Boeuf, and have also enjoyed the Reading restaurant. We decided to celebrate my wife's birthday here with family and were a little disappointed. We did have a problem with the slow service which is why I have marked it down to 3 stars. I don't like to do this because the waiter and waitress were very polite and pleasant but we were waiting for some time to place the first drinks order, so long in fact that I had to go and find the waitress. As the restaurant wasn't busy, we were very surprised at how long our food order took to come through, which did spoil our experience to a degree and did cause a fair bit of discontent at the table. I do like the restaurant, and there was no problem with the food or the ambience. We will certainly return and hope that the slow service was an exception."

"Excellent greeting at the door. Very professional and friendly service throughout. However the stand for dealing with dirty dishes and cutlery is in the front of the restaurant and the waiters seem to purposefully make as much noise as possible literally throwing the plates into the sink. It was quite distressing. I have noticed this on my previous visits to the restaurant. It seems a petty thing and not worth complaining about but I would like to be able to choose my table in the back when I next book. Food was delicious and our waiter perfect."

"We booked this for our belated Christmas night out. Pre-ordered all of our food a few days beforehand. A lot of us ordered the garlic mushrooms starter. Was meant to be served with sourdough bread but unfortunately they had ran out of it. We were offered white bread as an alternative. But that was option we as to be taken literally. Our mushrooms came served on a slice of toast! Hilarious. Was I silly to think it might've at least been artisan in anyway or form? We're talking supermarket bread here. Secondly, they seemed to have to ran out of chips so we all received oven chips with our steak. Amazing. Except for one of our party who got sweet potato fries. Lucky. When ordering dessert we were informed they'd ran out of the hot chocolate fondant. Bearing in mind we pre-ordered our food. Finally we were in the restaurant for a total of 3 hours! 3 hours for 3 courses for a party of 8, ludicrous. The whole experience was so shockingly bad it was almost comical. The funniest moment for me was all the 50% off vouchers we got handed for our next visit. As if that's going to happen. The only saving grace was the big discount we received on our bill. Have we had not received that, I would've refused to pay. Sorry café Rouge, but that was horrifying. Don't expect me to come back."

"we ordered lobster and mussels as main course. lobster was tasteless and completely dry, fries full of salt and overcooked. cold mussels and broth as well. ordered coke and despite the place being half empty, after 15 minutes that I was seeing my drink in the bar and no waiter and manager seemed to be intending to bring it to me, even though they were waiters and managers behind the bar counter I had to get out of my table and go get my drink"
"Really lovely waitress but the maitre’d was rude and we overheard him being obnoxious to another table! Not sure we would go back… food was nice. Two of four main courses were wrong but we didn’t complain as they were options which were acceptable to us. Poor atmosphere and the guy in charge was very keen for everyone to leave so he could lock the door by 9!!!"

"Shown to a table promptly, it was not set with any cutlery, serviettes etc. waitress wiped half of the table only. Ordered food and the starter of calamari arrived which was so small it was laughable. We Both ordered sirloin steaks and unfortunately my partners was 30% gristle. We highlighted this to the server who replied with ‘oh sorry about that’ . Asked for the bill and service was added and nothing taken off for the inedible steak. The restaurant is looking tired, dirty and need of an urgent refurb. The toilets weren’t great either. Overall a dreadful experience. I guess they get a lot of business due to its location right next to St Paul’s."

"Staff were not very welcoming. Food wasn’t served until an hour after our booking time (we were a party of 12 and the only people in the restaurant for the first 45 mins, and only ordering breakfast) Three of the party ordered poached eggs and all of them we over cooked and completely hard. I assume this was because they tried to send all the food out together, but we would have appreciated the food better cooked and not served at the same time. Also the servings of sauce with some of the meals was very meagre. We didn’t bother sending the food back as we had waited so long and the occasion was a three year olds birthday and they were getting very restless. Not the usual standard of service or food we usual get from this chain, although it was our first time at this branch. We are here because frankie and bennys couldn’t take a booking at the same time. Next time we will return to frankie and bennys."

"We made a reservation for a family brunch and were satisfied with the variety on the menu although we were disappointed that pancakes were not available. The staff greeted us warmly and provided good service. There were not many options specifically for children. Luckily, our kids were well-behaved, but it would have been nice to have some distractions for them while we waited for our food. The wait staff were accommodating and willing to adjust the menu to our preferences."
